According to The Lost World script, the Mamenchisaurus was to be included in the Stegosaurus scene. Apparently the Mamenchisaurus were to have been in the process of mating and, once the stegosaurs start attacking the group, the characters run towards the Mamenchisaurus to escape from them. This scene, however, was scrapped before filming even began. However, in both the theatrical release, Mamenchisaurus are present in a scene in which stampeding dinosaurs are being chased by hunters on motorcycles. One hunter rides between the huge legs of a Mamenchisaurus.
Yes, one of my top 5 faves, The Lost World introduced me to this dino. I was just so interested in how it looked and acted. Glad to see it get a video.
Cameron Tully second dinosaur discovered, yes, but popular, no. You'd see duck bill dinosaurs, the paracerapholus or whatever, the one with the horn behind its head believed to be used for sound. You'd see ankylosaurs, and you would see the dinosaurs from the movies. I had books and lots of toys of dinosaurs as a kid. But you wouldn't see iguanadon much until after Disney's Dinosaur.
Wow! And here I thought the only time the pachy appeared in this franchise was in the Lost World, literally had no idea it appeared this much, that's pretty cool. Now, if I would like to see him again in the franchise, definitely! Just to have him appear again in one more movie, it would be great.
My favorite memory of the Pachy was when Burke and his assistant (maybe?) came to see it in the process of being captured as Burke explains it's distinct dome and it's ability to ram as it rams one of the hunters through a Jeep and noticed them so they ran. Funny memory lol.
I usually watch your videos from work they help me get through the day, again keep the good content coming I need it for work I work security so there's that also a huge Jurassic Park Fan I'm wearing a Jurassic Park shirt under my work shirt right now LOL
Can we get another video about Hurricane Clarissa, since the Islands are being hit by another Storm? Maybe a video about how Jurassic Park foreshadows Hawaii's bad weather? Iniki and Clarissa, Mouna Kea and Sibo.
Love the videos Klayton. One question I have had is why you don't include Chaos Island: The Lost World Jurassic Park in the game segments of your dinosaur histories. I thought this game was very well done for its time and remains one of my favorites to this day. As a disclaimer, though I have watched many of your videos, I haven't seen all of them and if you have addressed this or have included the game in other videos, I apologize. Thanks and keep up the great work.
2:00 OMG I USED TO OWN THAT TOY WHEN I WAS A KID!!! I remember going to the market with my grandpaerents and i remember begging for that toy IT WAS SO COOL YOU WOULD MOVE ITS ARMS TO MAKE ITS HEAD FLING IN FRONT OF YOU! Ha i had a lot of good times with that toy....😃👌
Pachycephalosaurus is another one of my favoritie dinosaurs, but I find it to be a bit underrated when compared to other famous dinosaurs like Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus. I guess it's because I don't see the animal in many movies or documentaries, but that's just me. I love its portrayal in "The Lost World," and I wish it could appear more in future JP films.
I guess it's so iconic that it shows even the smaller dinosaurs. Are just as much as a threat as the bigger ones! Although in life. They're actually as big as a human
The small pachy from The Lost World was the very first Jurassic Park toy I ever had. The dinosaur itself has always interested me because of its design and it was mentioned that the dome is 9 inches of solid bone.
One of my first experiences I had with the Packy (my nickname for the species) was either with the Jurassic Park movies or Dinosaur Planet. I would love to see a fight between the Packy and a velociraptor again!
I had the capture rig hummer toy, and I could have sworn it came with a Packy... From the same line, I had the Deter figure, with the magnetic Compy. Since I was a kid and discovered the Packy, a deck of cards with GORGEOUS art and info, I've always love them! JP just made me love them more. The reason is a little sad tho, as a kid I always hit my head, or head butted walls when I was really upset. (Thank you then undiagnosed mental illness.) So I felt a kinship to them because of it.
I always felt sorry for the Pachycephalosaurus in The Lost World: Jurassic Park. I still do. And by they way, wasn't the Pachycephalosaurus (jeez, what a long name) in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom? Or was that a different variant of a domed dinosaur? Great video as always, Klayton!
Pachycephalosaur, stiggimoloch, and dracorex are among my fave dinos. Some paleo scientists believe they are all the same species, just at different ages. They are bon with spikes, and slowly developed a hardened dome.
I love this dinosaur very much. When I was in elementary school we studied dinosaurs for a full month. Our teacher assigned us a dinosaur to study and make a some what life size sculpture out of the dinosaur you got. I got this one in particular and I loved it ever sense. I would love to see more of this dinosaur but people only like the ones with teeth haha
I was first introduced to the Pachycephalosaurus in the round up sequence from The Lost World Jurassic Park, it was awesome seeing it defend itself from the hunters and when it bashed one of the hunters through a jeep. Thats one of the reasons why I like that second movie was that it didn't treat the plant eating dinosaurs like scene fillers and made them as significant as the meat eating dinosaurs. I like it's design and navy blue and tan coloration the movie series gave Phachycephalosaurus and the vulture like screeches it makes. And I also find it interesting that on the southern part of Isla Sorna it lived alongside Parasaurolophus and Gallimimus in herds.
The Pachy instantly got my attention in the Lost World when it rammed a car door off, I think it took someone out with the car door as well if I remember correctly. I hope they appear in the next Jurassic World movie, maybe with that lone Stygymoloch as their pack leader?
In fallen kingdom you CAN hear one When The dinosaurs escape from lookwood mansión but theres a posibilty of being a sinoceratops or gallimimus because The animals have similar roars
I like the Pachy. And I would've wanted to see it again, if not for Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom. Thing is, who needs Pachycephalosaurus when you have Stygimoloch?
Weston Bruski Well, there's some controversy about that classification, but the JP films have always enjoyed ignoring the latest palaeontological research.
DINOSAUCERS! That's where i 1st heard about Pachycephalosaurus from something other than specials, books & encyclopedias, BoneHead from DinoSaucers. His mom was named Bonehilda & his 2 brothers were LumpHead & NumbSkull.
Pachycephalosaurus also appears in Jurassic World Evolution, noticed you missed out on that Still weird how they didnt include it in FK, like it never existed, only to be replaced by the stygi
_Stygimoloch_ probably *_is_* a young _Pachycephalosaurus_ . Although _Stygimoloch_ fossils are found in rock layers that are a bit younger than those that _Pachycephalosaurus_ are found in, so it's probably a species of _Pachycephalosaurus_ from the upper Maastrichtian instead. Although you can consider the two separate depending on how many characters/features you consider to be qualifying for separation.
@@LuigiG145 thank you. Everyone just always takes the latest trendy theory and applies it as fact. Scientists are questioning whether it should be it's own genus or not, but nothing has been decided yet. It may be determined to be a juvenile Pachy, or it may be determined to be a distinct animal. In the latter case, they may decide that it is a species of Pachycephalosaurus (and I wouldn't be surprised if they named it Pachycephalosaurus stygimoloch and it was still commonly referred to as stygi) or that it could be a subspecies of an existing Pachy species (less likely), or they may decide it is distinct enough to warrant having (ahem keeping) a different genus name. I feel that, as long as it's not really a juvenile Pachy, it's pretty fair to let it keep it's own genus name. There are so many animals that very similar to each other and yet are different genera. Pachycephalosaurians in general are far less varied and distinct from one another than say for example their cousins the ceratopsians. You also see this in dromeosaurids. With many of them the only obvious difference is the size. (Achillobater vs Velociraptor. Utahraptor vs Deinonychus) (how's that for a line up? Are you ready to rumblllllllle no moving on) In modern animals, take the king cobra (Ophiophagus) which is separate from "true" cobras (Naja). The opposite occurs as well, for example the genus "Canis" which includes both wolves (C.lupus) and domestic dogs (C. familiaris familiaris) and C. familiaris contains domestic dogs as well as dingos (C. familiaris dingo) as separate subspecies. What I'm saying is, either option is reasonable, but if they don't turn out to be just a juvie Pachy I don't see why they can't keep their existing genus name. Phew ok I'm done.
@@LuigiG145 also I just want to be clear that I'm agreeing with you and expanding upon your point, not trying to argue or say you're wrong about something. I agree with literally everything you said. 👍

Yes, one of my top 5 faves, The Lost World introduced me to this dino. I was just so interested in how it looked and acted. Glad to see it get a video.
Disney's Dinosaur popularized Carnotaurus...
.
And Iguanadon.
Ninja Hombrepalito iguanodon was popular before that as it was the second dinosaur discovered

Ninja Hombrepalito I agree and it's a great movie ahead of its time
KommanderHooyah you sure you're not confusing iguanadon with hadrosaurus or parasaurolophus?

I’ve always had a strong love for the little pachy. Ohh Klayton, you should check out Dark Continent Jurassic World, it’s such an amazing story :D
Awesome videos and great content ! Keep up the good work !
When Roland and the other InGen people were capturing the dinosaurs running I felt sorry for the pachy because how cruelly it got captured
Holy shit has anyone just noticed how massive the jw pachy is?
Great video. It also appears in The Lost World game for Ps1 in the Hunter and Raptor campaign with the same design of the movie.
plz make more of these I love them especially the dinos that we dont have to much info on sry wasnt able to watch earlier
One of my favorite dinosaurs along with all the other dome skull ones. Love that look with the dome , beak and, coloration.

That Ram Head Pachycephalosaurus toy was one of my favorites back in my childhood. Wish I still had it.
Great video, great dino!! The only thing you forgot was The Lost World: Jurassic Park game for PS1. And how difficult they make the hunter levels.

I really hope they’re back in JW3. The one in Lost World was a juvenile, so it would be great to have the adults featured.
Iconic,a mean attitude, and a great design from TLW.Easily one of my favorites from the films.
Such a badass herbivore. That and its Stiggy relatives. I never realized how much I loved these guys until Fallen Kingdom came out.
You need to do more Dinosaur Profile things like you did with the Bulk Rex that was awesome!
I was wondering why the Pachycephalosaurus was absent from Fallen Kingdom just as much as The Dilophosaurus
One of my first experiences I had with the Packy (my nickname for the species) was either with the Jurassic Park movies or Dinosaur Planet. I would love to see a fight between the Packy and a velociraptor again!

I like the Pachy. And I would've wanted to see it again, if not for Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom. Thing is, who needs Pachycephalosaurus when you have Stygimoloch?
