If you want motion blur since the light prevents this, after making the logo, create a new composition, put the logo composition into it then apply force motion blur effect. You're welcome :)

  • @Enflict

Awesome, I was actually wondering the fastest way to do this. It's even less complicated than Photoshop's 3D features. I feel like After Effects in general can be intimidating at first but once you get a feel for moving around between elements and their properties as well as how the whole composition system works, it gets easier.
I would dynamic-link from Premiere more often if doing so didn't affect the entire source video and not just what I clipped. If there's a way around that or if I'm doing it wrong I'm all ears.

A bit difficult to digest all at once, but I managed through, and it worked! Now I'm hoping to figure out how to 3D-spin an object that has compound paths. (I brought the Ai / PNG file in just fine, but it separates out the paths for every individual element, even though I've created a compound path before importing...)

So I've followed these instructions..and when I create a logo with a letter that has a hole in it (i.e. a P or a O) the hold is not knocked out and the letter is solid. In order to extrude, I remove the fill and add a stroke with that color on that path. I also place the original logo on top. It's a work around..but the back of the logo when I spin it shows the stoke with the logo in front of the stroke...any way to do this with letters that have "holes" in them? Thanks for the tutotial BTW...good stuff..

  • @MrGarJanis

Good tutorial. Ir works. Thank You! As extra... could You show how to deal with masks on letters with wholes (like a,b d e.t.c)? After Auto-trace... on png file with text, mask is created for each letter and for each whole in letter, but wholes are not transparent. Will highly appreciate, because can't find salvation on UA-cam.

  • @rivgadeextras

If u auto traced and got 2 or more masks and when you tried to color it wouldn't work right click on the mask and click the inverted option to get your actual object to be colored in ♥

when I auto trace it gives me a TON of mask paths, I assume I have to do the same "create shape, copy path" for each mask path? Is there an easy way to do it to all the mask paths at once?
