- He may never put up a ton of points, but he projects as a top 2 shutdown defender. That's something every team likes to have.

Happy to get him at 10th, Go Dev's
WELCOME TO NJ!!!
He’s a Devil now
Kept saying, "Hulking" and I ws ready for you to rip the Seattle Jersey in half....
Don’t make him mad
Zadorov with better skating sounds like a dream in the playoffs. Goes early.
I think he is gunna be the first D Man off the board. Kid looks like he is gunna be a beast
Probably second after Levshunov. I could see the Jackets picking him as a future partner to Jiricek.
Report came out that Chicago is leaning towards Levshunov at 2
@@cbjm36 interesting. I thought everyone was saying that Demidov was there guy at 2 for sure.
@@crushdavis7048 nope Anaheim is taking Demidov to play with Cutter Gauthier
Let’s go devils
This is a bit random, but one day, we'll finally see a guy come along who's as tall or taller than Chara. There's a bunch of 6'7" and 6'8" guys, but no one has ever reached 6'9"! Anyway, that's what's on my mind.
Its funny because if you ever played the Xbox360/PS3 era NHL games, there is always a 6'10 Defensive Defenseman that goes in the 1st round in every Franchise Mode Draft.
Love these prospect videos Shannon. Thanks!
Huge potential top pairing defensive defenseman who can skate better than Zadorov and hit? He’s gone early. That’s got top 3 pick written all over it. Obviously, there’s the KHL issue, but more guys are coming over and it’s less of a problem. The fact that he’s young and isn’t getting as many opportunities to play there actually could be a good thing in terms of his upside. The main thing would be getting him over to North America ASAP so he can adjust to the style of play and the ice surface.
I have a feeling Silayev is picked by Anaheim as he is the type of player GM Pat Verbeek likes.
@Pohunohi Since he got the job in 2022 he's been drafting pretty big guys, he also traded Drysdale for Cutter who is 6'2". Verbeek is definitely trying to make the Ducks into a bigger team after taking over from Murray. If Levshunov is off the board I can definitely see Verbeek at least consider Silayev.
@Pohunohi with the 17 picks the Ducks have made since 2022 two of the have been 6 ft. Those are the two shortest. Six of them have been 6'3" or higher
@Pohunohi Silayev is a big, mean, mobile defensive defenseman. You obviously don't know what you're talking about.
@Pohunohi Every player in the draft isn't guaranteed to be good. That's why scouting is important. The Ducks are known to be very good at scouting defensemen so if they take Silayev you know they see something in him. You aren't understanding what Silayev is and that is he's more of a defensive defenseman which can be very valuable. Ducks have plenty of offensive defensemen but not as many good defensive ones and that's why the Ducks are giving up like 50 shots in some games. It's obvious you don't know what you're talking about in regards to Silayev as many scouting reports gush about his skating and mobility for a man his size.
Everything in hockey isn't about scoring.
@Pohunohi Fowler, Mintyukov, Zellweger, LaCombe, Luneau are all offensive defensemen. Of course they're not going to come into the league and fully develop right away, that takes time but when all is said and done all those guys will be more offensive minded. That's why taking a guy like Silayev isn't a horrible idea. He's a shut down defenseman which the Ducks really don't have very much of.
For the record, I would take Levshunov over Silayev but if Chicago takes him I wouldn't be surprised if Verbeek goes for Silayev.
really need him in utah, doubt he falls to 6th, though
That’s an interesting nickname…Hulking Defenseman. Mine’s Prototypical Power Forward.
To be fair the 11 points is all done by a 17yo and i believe it also is the KHL record for a under 18 player
207 is hulking when he's still a teenager
At 6'7" I wouldn't be surprised if he puts on 20 lbs or more by the time he fills out
He's going to Seattle and I agree with your pick. Elite Prospects has him way late after having him around 7 to 8
Yea he's going high, it just depends which team wants a defensive D more.
Anaheim
Is there a chance he could come over to the NHL earlier? Like michkov
It would be magic if this kid could make it to Seattle
What a draft year. Everyone of them looks good, but …they all have a big but. Someone on UA-cam has every shift from one game posted, instead of highlights. He is a good skater, looks to have chase down speed, but like a lot of tall guys is awkward with the puck. Levshunov seems the opposite. Skating has bad first steps, but looks slick with the puck.
Chara 6'9" 256 lbs.
HYFR!!
Sounds like prime Doumolin.
Sounds perfect for Sens. If only he was a RD...
In a world where his stock as a Defensemen and his KHL contract bring him down the board enough would love if the Blues picked him up if he falls that far. Seems unlikely he gets outside of the top 10 however.
I hope the Ducks pick him up. They have tons of offensive defensemen, they need a shut down/minutes defensemen.
Mr Hockey Guy... random video idea... why do teams give up on the big defensemen they draft... Chara, Pronger and Burns come to mind. All realized their potential, but all were traded by the teams that drafted them.
Big Si 👊🔥
Need shutdown D for yoffs. Forget the small skill D.
Yeah bouchard has been terrible lmao
@@michaelkeller5927 he listed at 6’3”
@@michaelkeller5927Bouchard is 6’2/6’3
@@michaelkeller5927 missing the point. bouchard is a one dimensional player, pretty overrated imo. everybody just focuses on points nowadays even though the first priority of a DEFENDER is to DEFEND
@@michaelkeller5927 forsling gonna shut them down
I would not be surprised to see Levshunov at #2 and Silayev at #3.
Hope he makes it to 8th
I have Silayev being picked by Utah at 6th overall because while I do think he'll be picked early in the draft, Like Top 10 early, I don't think he gets picked in the Top 5, Plus the idea of formerly Arizona picking hulking Russia defenseman 6th overall in back -to-back years is hilarious.
"See lah yev" spelled.
Tall, yes. Hulking, not at 207lb.
Man Cole Eiserman was 2nd to Celebrini to start the year I wonder what happened 🙁🙁
I’ve seen people say that Eiserman can only score and that the other factors of his game aren’t that good
@@trailerparkboyz245 Oh okay
Along with Berkly Catton, Eiserman is another player that is really being overlooked by scouts. Them along with Michael Hage are players that will definitely go higher than they are projected to.
@@SakicFanhe is basically Cole Caufeild but his all around game atm is slightly worse, that being said Cole was also over looked
@@leyladerben4227 ohhhhh
Tankathon has the Wild taking him at 13.
Have to be mobile in todays game… and keep him off the nose candy
I wouldn't take him in the top 8. Maybe top 10. These big defensive defenseman types taken early almost never pan out as franchise altering guys. Look at Gudbranson. Or even guys like Erik Johnson while good aren't the type of players who end up being a franchise guy. This guy has buyer beware all over him
He's one of the best skaters in the draft, possibly the best skater in the draft. The only buyer beware is the offensive side of his game. He is going early in the draft because a 6'7" mobile defenseman who hits and plays excellent defense is the kind of defender you need to win a Cup.
207 lbs is hulking? He's tall but he's a flagpole. K'Andre Miller is 6'5" 210lbs and I don't recall him being labelled as "hulking." Heck my 16yr old is 6'2" 215 lbs and he's average size on his hockey teams.
Hulking is in reference to his height.
Your kid should get drafted if he can skate or score goals
Glad I don't have to buy your groceries 🤣
I find him fairly overrated. Hope he proves me wrong tho.
The tape says otherwise. He looked great in a strong professional mens league at 17yo.
