As a dinosaur in the AA scene, I thank you for your in depth demonstration for this type of display. I've been doing only wire cubes but been meaning to do the switch to a more proper (and easier to set up) floating bar display for some time now. Tutorials like this were far in between to word of mouth/non existent back in the day. I hope you have a lovely day
gosh thank you!!! I pay my respects to those who have been on the scene for years ~ hopefully you found a good idea or 2 here, thanks for joining innnn
@@Sundrop.Studios Oh my goodness I sure did gain a couple ideas!! Definitely gonna try the velcro thing for the prints first- I am SO DONE with taping my prints up!! And you are doing amazing, no matter what happens, follow your heart and I think you'll be lead the right way! You're very welcome
This video is so helpful. You earned a sub!! I just did artist alley at Anime NYC selling all OC stuff and and learned alot from you in this video on how to innovate my display. Thank you SO MUCH
this is awesome info thank you!! I'm still very much a baby in merch artist category (im designing my first stickers) and to hope reach this level and have my own booth someday at a convention! I just recently found your channel and you make something like vending at an artist alley seem much more possible in my eyes thank you so much! and you're an inspiration :D
You got this! Starting artist alleys is a lot of fun and a great start into your journey as a business person! But it certainly comes with a lot of ups and downs and risk. Best of luck~
I'm starting to get back into the AA scene and one thing I've forever been looking for is a replacement idea for those wire cubes...that photography c-clamp set up is *exactly* what I've been looking for, thank you so much for making this video (and thanks to the person who asked for it haha).
yay!! I'm glad someone found this helpful! and yes, thanks to that one person who requested the video hahaha. The c-clamps are a bit expensive, and for me, I needed 2 sets of them. But I really like their quality and the fact that they can break into smaller pieces! best of luck out there
@@Sundrop.Studios thank you again :) The amazing luck of it all was I saw your video right when Prime Day was going on and got a set of the clamps on sale :D I was debating about getting 2 but I know for how I want to set up I'll need just 1, but might pick up another set later down the line hehe.
Your table is always so gorgeous and eye-catching, I'm so happy to see the process explained in such a helpful and accessible manner! Thank you so much for sharing. 💖 Also that table runner looks soooo good, it's crazy how much it brings the setup together.
Loved the video!! Thank you for "over-explaing" everything, sometimes it may seem obvious but for the people who are new at this it's very helpful! Also congrats on winning the Avatar trivia!!!
Absolutely this was so helpful~ Thank you for showing what you use visually, some people just show pictures but this was nice to see in motion on how you do it.
If you're running out of space for your tote bags, you can put it on the front table beside your cloth banner, clip it, and people can see it is a tote bag. A small con about this is it may not be visible if people crowd your booth.
I LOVE THIS VIDEO !! and thank you so much for the links they are so helpful! I've been searching high and low for the exact product for a sturdier display! to the wishlist it goes hahahah
THANKS FOR WATCHING! I’m glad it helped! I think this kit is worth saving up for (and again, I have 2 of them so I can be flexible with all the pieces). It’s $$$ but it’s high quality af
I'm attending my very first artist alley in September so this video was so incredibly helpful, thank you so much!! I also really resonate with you - while I build up my small business, my husband is also my financial support (and an engineer too haha) so honestly without him and his patience, I don't know where I'd be. It's definitely challenging to have a career that is literally a different rollercoaster everyday, but I just have to keep reminding myself that this is what I love to do and someday, all of the struggle will pay off 🤍
It’s definitely important the supportive ppl in our lives that have helped (in any form!) us get to where we are as artists 🥹 I wish you the absolute best on your first AA! It’s nerve wrecking but you’ll learn so much and meet great ppl with some courage (if you’re shy, like me lol). Excited for you !
@@Sundrop.Studios Thank you so much for the well wishes!! Yes i'm such an introvert so this will be an experience haha but i'm really looking forward to it!! 🤗
I'm still a newbie to artist alley, so I've been wondering if I should try out using the photo stand method. I just clip them to wire grids but it gets super tall and intimidating I think haha. Also thanks for showing how you store prints for conventions! Tried out multiple boxes until I saw your recommendation! 😅
oh I started off with grid panels too! I used magnets to get my prints to stay up but it was very time consuming and I didn't like that they were so visible AND that I was LOSING them all the time lol! hoping you found some good ideas here :>
Has anyone ever tried stealing? I always wondered how you keep track of everything, especially if its busy, also have never done a convention, though it seems very scary at least for me...
Honestly I wouldn't know, but I'm sure it's happened to me. That's obviously the risk you take if you decide to do a self-serve type of display. I think it's worth it because I LIKE ppl touching my stuff and recognizing that everything feels high-quality. I have never caught someone blatantly stealing off my table, but I have seen little kids grip stickers and almost walk off with them XD. A simple, "oh kiddo! Can I have that back?" usually gets them to pause and hand it back over hahaha. I take stock before and after every event and the numbers have always come out just about right. I also tend to give stickers away for free to friends or bonus freebies who watch my vlogs ;)
Love this video!!! Quick Question though- Have you ever had issues with prints falling with the Velcro strips? I’m so paranoid that things would fall LOL
Thank you!! And actually, I used to use tape to hang up my display posters, but THOSE would fall all the time. The Velcro I use is pretty heavy duty (and maybe a little overkill) 😅
Your table is so stinking cute! I've been stressing about changing the way I display my mini prints, and this helped me get my thoughts organized. *Chef's kiss*
Separating every print design into their own bags is such a good idea! I always waste so much time digging through trying to find one print during transactions 😵💫
i really appreciate this video! it’s nice to see how other artists plan their aa set up’s, and i’ve never seen another artist go into such depth and detail as you do. thanks so much!!
yus! I saw someone else do that and HAD to ask them about it. Haven't switched back since! It does take a little bit of some planning and practice though!

Omg yeah! I used to do that, but never figured out an elegant way of securing it. I think magnets might work- tho I’d want to get heavy duty ones

@@Sundrop.StudiosAwesome!! Thanks so much
May I ask where you got your suitcases? I loooove the yellow one it is SO cute hahaha
The brand is Away! It was part of a limited edition color last year, so they don’t have it right now- but they have plenty of other cute colors!
Really interesting. I always love watching how people build their displays. x
This is so fascinating 😊😊
Subbed ❤❤
may I ask, where did you buy your rug? xD
for sure! it's from revival rugs! Gambit in Camel color
this is so helpful!!! thank u so much 💗

Glad to help someone out there 🥹
wowie so thoroughh~ glad to see the behind-the-scenes of your setup! You've really found a good process for organizing everything.
Im a constant work in progress for sure
50 minute video 😍

Separating every print design into their own bags is such a good idea! I always waste so much time digging through trying to find one print during transactions 😵💫
This might be the aspect I’m most proud of in my display LOL, and no one even sees it 😅
those sticker trays are nice! most often they're way too deep and bulky
I think so too! Each spot is like 3”x3” so it fits most stickers perfectly, and I like stocking up to 40 stickers deep in them
17 minutes in and I’m learning so much 🤩 This video is golden!
Hi! Thanks for watching and sticking thru it 🥹 hope some parts were helpful to ya!
Thank you for the in depth steps to setting up your booth! It's really fun to see and I learned some really good tips.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for sitting thru my extensive over explanation 🤪🧡
i really appreciate this video! it’s nice to see how other artists plan their aa set up’s, and i’ve never seen another artist go into such depth and detail as you do. thanks so much!!
Hahaha okay im just glad more than 1 person wanted and enjoyed this video 🥹
