So glad to find another solo "actual play" channel! I really appreciate you making these. Excellent job right out of the gate - nice well-presented setup, clear audio, etc. Can't wait to watch them all. :)
Thanks! Yup, I like watching solo playthroughs too but sometimes find many of those available a bit...drawn out 🙂 wanted to put some more concise content out there. Hope you enjoy the rest of my videos and thanks for joining me on this journey!!
It's very handy. Weirdly, with this game I only thought of using dice when playing solo. I've played it with another person, and we tracked our hp on the included pad. Thanks for watching!
My pleasure - glad you're enjoying my videos! Yeah I remember that one on Kickstarter - definitely looks cool. However, I guess at the time I couldn't justify the cost (which would include higher shipping and added UK vat tax) and didn't end up getting it. Maybe I'll print out my own copy (I don't like playing on screen) - I'll add it to the list 🙂
This seems to be a game entirely of luck. The shuffle of cards, the roll of dice. But then you made a choice and said you failed. Did I misunderstand something? What is the strategy? I’ll watch the next one and see if I can find it.
You're not wrong - it is a game where luck wins over strategic decision making. That's not to say there are no decisions to make - some cards offer a choice and you have to decide what items to keep and when to use them. Not much more though 🙂 Apparently Escape The Dark Sector, the science-fiction follow-up, has a bit more going on, though I'm not sure if that increases the decision-space. Thanks for commenting!

It would be awesome to see you playthrough this game more maybe with some of the expansions.
This is really high up my list of things to do!
Great idea using dice to track HP! I'll steal that for my games :)

nice playthrough👍
I just ordered to get this from the official site ‘themeborne’
I’m really excited🥰
Enjoy - it's great :) Themeborne are just up the road from me - great company 🙂
The game doesn't play that great. Thanks for the playthrough. It helps me winnow down the good from the bad.
You're welcome 🙂 for what it's worth, I like this game and think it plays well. No game is for everyone, though.
A character can sit out a combat round to recover health. I often take it in turns to sit out when health is low to keep going just that bit longer.
Yeah I remembered that during the second playthrough 😂 Definitely need to strategically use this ability more often, as you suggest!
Thanks for your channel, Lone Adventurer. Would you like a review copy of the solo dungeon-crawler What Lies Beneath?
My pleasure - glad you're enjoying my videos!

Try and try again... thanks
😁
