First off Paul, well done for jumping straight into the game. That’s kind of brave. But having said that you did very well. It was good that you could come into the game having a character who had some resources already. That’s the best way to start. Because it’s an expansion the narrative sheet you get with the original character sheet is meant to be where you record your narrative notes. Maybe that’s not clear enough , Level appropriate monsters is described in the glossary but it is simply you pick the creature that is closest to your level. So you fought the right spider. As far as difficulty goes, yes, the giant spider is tough. But usually if you’re on level four character, you are meant to have some more armour. I think you probably held off buying more because you wanted to keep the money for the land which is understandable, but I would if I was you buy one more piece of armour. By the way enemies do go back up to full health, and you also become intimidated by them in future fights. I will also get the cards out to you my friend, as I appreciate that would make filming easier. Looking forward to the next video. If you have any questions, please just email them to me and I will get them straight away. Toby
Hi Toby - thanks for offering to send over the cards - that would be appreciated! I realise jumping straight into the game may have been folly, but it's going pretty well thus far 🙂 The spider was a bit of a beast, but there's nothing wrong with a bit of peril! I've already filmed the next video and Bane fares a lot better in that one! Your point about armour is noted - rather than intending to save my money, I think I had just underestimated the importance of good armour! I shall look into getting some more and maybe splash out! Might need to check out a lair in order to swell the coffers a bit 😉 Nice work on Realm - it's quite an achievement and I'm looking forward to seeing what surprises this book has in store!
I reached a point on my D&D game (Mystara, Karameikos) where my player's PC (yes, singular) got land and title from the Duke Stefan Karameikos. I've been researching ways (besides what the Companion book from BECMI says) to manage the Barony. Found it! Great system and great video!!!❤
I do almost everything for 2d6 on a laptop. Keeps book keeping neat, easy to search PDFs for tables, and making maps in Gimp in real time is much cleaner. The only thing I do on table is roll the dice.
love the good ol star trek ccg, was a die hard trekie back when it got out... but could never convince anyone to play with me when i lived out in the boonies
33:07 I did not understand where the 2+2 comes from. Can you please clarify? I have been only using one 2, so I realize I've been playing wrong. I do not understand where each of the "2" comes from. Thank you very much. Once again, great video. V
Sorry, off the top of my head, I'm not sure :) Is it something like the land-type gives you a value of two, but you have to also add on the base land-type? I might be wrong. I confess, I still find this aspect (and a couple of others) a little confusing.
I bought it today. I'll print it tomorrow and let you folks know how it goes. My binding usually is very simple: stapling every 70 sheets or so. Or ring binding. I really want to up my binding game.
I hear this from time to time 🙂 I think there must just be a close correlation between lefties - who are all awesome - and solo gaming, which is an awesome hobby....
Speaking as a left handed solo RPG content creator, I can say that I have absolutely noticed! I will hold off on the neurological reasons why this might be the case & just say that lefties are awesome!

@@lone_adventurer great stuff. I have packed the game full of content so hopefully you find it exciting! I'll be watching ;-)

Oooh, Realm is one game I really wanna check out! The spiral binding is brilliant!
Yeah that spiral binding makes a massive difference!
Awesome video as always! I'm always entertained by your reactions to terrjble rolls and brutal enemies 😄
Thanks! And here's a secret - those are only the reactions I leave in. Sometimes I cut my reactions out so I don't look like a grumpy bastard 😁

Great video. Can't wait to see more.
Thanks! More coming very soon 👍
I've been waiting on this one!
That was quick :D I feel a little bit like you were waiting outside my house, watching for me to hit the 'publish' button :P
@@lone_adventurer Who says I'm outside 😱
@@davidday2014 Ha! Touche!

I was lucky - I had a couple of friends in my mid-teens who were as keen as I was to play this (when we weren't playing M:TG!) :)
Ohh when I discovered a land which I don't own, I still encounter it :o okay :D learned sth new haha
You and me both!! Still getting to grips with this one 😁

I wonder if there is enough clear margin on 2D6 core to cut the spine off and have it coil bound...
Hmmm....dunno 🙂 sounds risky to me!
How did you go about printing this up? Great video, love it!
Thanks! You mean the main book? Not printed myself - purchased from DR Games 🙂
@@lone_adventurer Oh, I see, thank you very much!

Ive been watching quite a few videos about solo games recently, and everyone is left-handed. Has anyone else noticed this?!

@@GeekGamers01I came here to say Daborah is left-handed hehehe.❤
Left-handed and Gemini here! Maybe we see both sides of the games more intuitively. 😂
Web grenade? I think Toby's been playing too much Call of Duty.😅
