Cream was the secret ingredient for that scene lol
I thought it was Danish. So did Maury 🧐🤣
The 1st one was nicotine 🤔🤌🏻🚬💭😈...😵🌛

Put in cream, write cream, just put it just put it, put in cream!
In that scene you can actually see the "darkness" in his eyes.. it's chilling..
The eyes are the mirror to the soul. A plus for DeNiro. He has no soul 😂
He had some Shark eyes.

He was already thinking of Trump back then
Honestly, this scene is iconic. I think about it more than I should. I think it's the music.

That look he gives while smoking the cigarette is the moment that the movie acknowledged that Jimmy was in fact that most dangerous character in the movie
Tbere was a reason Tommy didnt fuck wirh Jimmy in real life. He KNEW BETTER.
I mean way earlier in the movie Henry talks about Jimmy being such a good hitman because killing meant nothing to him. He had been a hitman since he was like 17. A stone cold killer that doesnt show anger is way scarier than someone like Tommy who you can tell takes it personally. You never see it coming from a guy that doesnt show emotion over it.
@@carlwinslo yes henry does talk about it but this is the first time that the movie SHOWS it. Its one thing to have a character tell you something about another character but its another thing to have that character show you through their actions on screen. That's why this moment hits so different than Henry just telling us because we are seeing it with our own eyes

One of the biggest things missing from modern films is the good use of music not just having pop music but actually using the music for a purpose . Music can be used so many ways to fit the tone contrapuntally (opposite of tone) to convey character emotion or thoughts to bring character together to open a movie to end a movie to show love to show hate endless possibilities
You have to know the right music even exists for the scene. So, you need writers and directors that have a huge amount of music at their disposal to even know to connect those dots.
I think you see less and less of that as time goes
You mean like ending scene in Willow where they played Money For Nothing? 😂

Too bad DeNiro is now a liberal PU-C who complains about Donald Trump all... day... long. Someone call the whambulance.
De Niro doesn't attempt to give his character any redeeming features in Goodfellas, same with Pesci too, both terrifying in how mundane killing is to them
Along those same lines,,, in taxi driver when he first meets the pimp who thinks Deniro is a cop,,, and Deniro looks back at him and says "I'm hip".... The pimp has no idea what he's up against😂
I realized one of the reasons I love Goodfellas so much, is because it plays a kick ass soundtrack FOR THE FIRST HOUR AND A HALF!! Seriously, check it out. The music doesn’t stop until 90 minutes in when shit starts going bad for the crew.
Whaaaauuuuuaaaaaa?? Really?

Scorsese has always been a gifted and brilliant filmmaker. If you watch many of his films, music is a key ingredient to having a great film. Wow I love this!!!! Why don’t they make films like this anymore 😓
I read somewhere that it's less economically viable today to get top tier actors and production as costs in the industry have sky rocketed since this era of cinema. Also, with the rise of streaming services and piracy the more expensive cinema experience is less appealing to consumers. Couple that with the fact that vhs/dvd sales revenue is a thing of the past it means making movies to the calibre they used to isn't a frequent occurrence. This movie in particular though had a blend of some of the best actors of the past century with one of the best directors and an authentic story line. It's always going to be difficult to top.
