    I’ve never done any tig welding. My old boss at the fab shop told me not to bother, said it was really difficult. So I’ve mostly used .035 flux core and 6011 electrodes. You sure make it look easy enough that I want to go drop $500 now. Thanks lol

    I have the machine and it is grest so far. My only complaint is their lack of customer service. I am not a professional by any account, so my opinion is just that. I had a hose leak also but was able to fix it with new clamp. I built few of my farm implements using this welder. It has not stopped ever. I weld often on the 110 side of tig with no issue. The stick 110 blows breaker quick. Not machines fault. Easy to use and learn tig with. I just dread if i ever have an issue and need help from them. It may have been just my experience with their Cs, so if yours was i hope your is great

    This is pretty cool. I drank the kool-aid of youtube about 18 months ago and bought a powertig 210exp (wish I would've spent the extra loot on the 255, but whatever) and while I'm not a professional production shop, I really like that welder. It was my first foray into tig, so I'm still learning a lot, but the controls are super straight forward and it's pretty easy to get started. It's nice to see they're dipping into the $500 DC tig market. Would be freaking spectacular if they managed to get AC added into this unit for sub-1k range!
    I'd love to have this little unit you're giving away, but I just don't need it, so I'm not going to enter the drawing. Appreciate your intro and giving this away!

      @@JustVoss Pretty sure only difference between 210 and 255 is amps and the electrode polarity position. They appear to be reversed between the machines for some reason.

Currently 6 to 8 weeks repair time and a ton of money for shipping as they only have one repair center. They have been unable to keep technicians. Make this the VERY LAST welder you buy. Get someone with customer service. No professional could have their machine out of service that long. Junk product and even worse service.

      I picked up a Lotos TIG200 AC/DC for $599 on Amazon 2 years ago, and while it is definitely a budget rig, it has not given me a lick of trouble since I got it. It comes with a pigtail to run it off 120, and TBH it is... not super great at that? But if you run it off 240 it'll deliver 200A no problem. I do mostly aluminum, but it's done fine on mild steel as well. I am a hobbyist, but I run it several times a week, have gone through several bottles of gas, and it just keeps working. Only real complaint is that at least on my model, when using the pedal control, the amperage control is on the pedal and not on the rig's main control panel, so it's kind of awkward.

    • @jvmiller1995
      @jvmiller1995 4 роки тому +1

      @@Xeddyhime Glad to hear it works good for you. I got lucky and had a little money come my way a few years ago and was able to purchase a nice Everlast at the time it was their latest greatest and cost $2200 but it will do everything I ever wanted and then some. It was the very first mig tig stick combo that had AC on the tig.
      The pedal is a down fall on a lot of budget welders I will say the Nova pedals Everlast use are real nice and precise but the mig gun was a 9 ft cheap undersized gun for the machine. It lasted almost 2 years I just changed it with a yes welder mig gun. It is a 250 amp and a copy of a Tweco and takes Tweco consumables. The one that came with my machine was only rated for 180 amps and came on a 200 amp machine. Go figure. But the Everlast machines themselves are very well made. I recommended because I have one and they have a real warranty. But I am thinking of getting a Lotos plasma if you have one of them let me know what you think.

      @Xeddyhime 4 роки тому +1

      @@jvmiller1995 I got the Lotos LTP5000D 50A around the beginning of the year, and it's been... fine? I mean, I'm no expert, but it took some fiddling and experimenting to get it dialed in to where it consistently made nice cuts with minimal slagging, but speaking as a hobbyist, it's done everything I've asked of it. Was kind of skeptical about quality from a name I'd never really heard before, but I did double-check with Amazon, and the return policy gave me the confidence to buy them both. I've actually been pretty impressed with the bang for the buck on both units.

    If ita a dc welder does that mean that I need to get an inverter to run it off ac current, or does it have a power supply built in?

    • @carpediemarts705
      @carpediemarts705 3 роки тому

      Your DC current welder will weld steel just fine plugged into the wall.
      Your DC welder IS an inverter power supply! It turns 120v 20 amp AC wall power into 120 amp 20v DC power.
      Welding aluminum requires a different machine where the power coming out of the handle and ground clamp alternates. This peels the aluminum oxide film off of the aluminum so that your weld isn't automatically scrap with the film embedded in the weld pool.
      Rock on!
