Thanks for watching!
I love that solar system.... 1:25 "solar light, motion sensor, somebody walks up, light comes on and dog barks!" Interconnecting the dog to the night light sensor is GENIUS. 🤣🐶
I’m a 62 year old woman and I can easily set up my a-frame by myself. Perfect for a single person. I also love slim potatohead and the guy from “going nowhere fast” and his German shepherds.
I just purchased and A-liner and I can't wait to go camping. I love Slim potatoehead's video's. I will have to check out the other channel you mentioned. Thank you
I have a chalet Aframe works great. Been out here in Arizona for 8 weeks now. I like the way he made his table.
thank you for your post, I'm 59 and considering a A Frame
We loved our Aliner. We took out, the sink, the stove, water tank, and the bedding. We bought 2 good mattresses, a microwave, porta potty, ice chest, and an a/c and loved every minute. Bud, is correct. The aliner is terrific. It is easy to put up and down and goes everywhere.
Solo female retiree who loves loves loves her Aliner!
I've chosen the off road A Liner with a bathroom option and solar package with the dormers. Very light weight to tow! Love it!
The ingenuity of this gentleman is inspiring. Also agree about not using water tanks and about the stuff that grows even in enclosed standing filtered water.
Love that A frame! Looks like a little house.
Bud is a really cool guy. Enjoyed the interview and like the A frame camper.
Nice home. Happy nomading! 😊
I am happy for you mister . Good for you .
Thanks for sharing your home with us. And thanks Bob for interviewing a newbie. Its great to get that perspective.
Thank you for joining this review I found it helpful
I dig the toilet idea, very clever
Slim has a great channel. He's the McGyver of the RV world.
Yup. Love Slim's channel :)
I agree - he's a cross between an engineer and a philosopher!
Who's slim
novanhippie Slim Potato head...
On UA-cam type in Slim Potatohead channel and there you go . . . that easy
Bob Wells...another great interview. You find the most interesting people to interview! He has given a lot of thought to his set up. It is amazing how roomy those a-liners are. I watch slim potatohead, too.
* Nice setup
* Luv the table design!
* Best interviewers take a backseat, like Bob.
Very Smart camper trailer.
I’m 66 and have the Aliner Ranger 10-currently the smallest unit. No table. Cabinets instead. Works for me. Sturdy, secure, and full of light with its big windows. Also enjoy Slim and Rick’s UA-cam channels. Thanks!
I bought a 2018 Aliner Expedition last year and love it. It has the dormers and comes with the indoor bathrooms with shower. When we're not camping, it stays in our standard size 2-car garage. Great video - thanks!
See not to worry. I knew Bob would release a second video of the tour. Some people wine and complain too much without watching the first video to the end. Love this little trailer. Great video and interview Bob. Cheers
First time seeing an Aliner It's really a good set up for one. I'm the same way have to make myself talk to other people. Would love to be able to do this.
Bud seems like a nice guy. Wanted to see Dufus.
wonderful information. I have been looking for what to look for in an A-liner for about 6-9 months and you have provided me with some great information. I don't care for the soft sided either. I know they rot out fast. My grandpa built one of the first soft sides in the 1930's which I still have the original plans for. we would go camping with them during the summer recess and we loved it. thanks again.
This is an amazing little home on wheels. I really like how he used galvanized pipe to replace original table support. We want to something different with our table in our 36 ft travel trailer we live in fulltime with our family. Thank y’all for sharing his home.
Please pass along to this gentleman to put a bug screen over his furnace output on the outside. It’ll keep out spiders and dirt dobbers out. Whether he uses it or not. Saved me from a lot of headaches.
Gary Smith Thanks for mentioning. By the end of the video, I wondered about it becoming an insect trap. 🐜 Additionally, that you can see light in the corner of the frames at the top is concerning.
Dang! Doing that today, thank you
@@janetbrowning9089 You could also do some trial runs with just you car or what ever you have, I have a ford escape. You can rig up a temp bed etc., and go on a short trip to see how things go and what you needed while there?
@@pjd2709 This is true...I have thought of that too...my biggest reason for waiting is I am 6' tall and I don't think I could use a port-a-potty in my vehicle...lol Normally though, for most people, that would not be a problem, even if they were tall...but, I have a medical issue, Crohn's, that necessitates me using the bathroom very frequently and it isn't feasible in a car for me...otherwise, great idea and I would have already tried it. Thanks for the idea though...nice of you to think of ways to try it out.🚐😊
He needs the screens on the outside fridge vents as well.
At last I have waited for a few years for an A Frame camper report . Thanks
Thank you for this!!! I'm researching Aliners for a recreational camper, and hope to have a home on wheels later in life. I was thinking the simplicity of an Aliner is a good base to learn, for living in a home on wheels later on. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles; I basically want a "box" I can customize to my needs.
Really like the awning you made! My partner is living full time in our Aliner now and your awning design looks perfect.
We have the model with a dormer and it adds enormous space. I see your point about the "useless" bubble window but one of our pups loves looking out of it all day :) Agree on the sink but we do use it. My issue with the sink is the countertop is too low so it kills my back to wash dishes in it. A couple Aliners have higher countertops so customers must have given feedback about the height.
Hi Bob. Love watching your videos and love the different kinds of people you interview. And their different rigs. Your an amazing man. By showing people how to LIVE. By showing you don't have to settle for quote an quote what society thinks is normal. By being house poor. You are showing people you have a home just not a sticks an brick house. But a real home. And God bless you Bob. May he contuine to bless you and may you continue to be you. By showing people that what you are trying to teach them is POSSIBLE.
😁😁😁
cool ... glad you posted second narrative ..
Slim is a legend
I do all the driving with our A frame trailer as my husband has disabilities and doesn't drive often. It is a breeze to pull and it will go wherever you can get your car. Sometimes I almost forget its there until I look in my mirror and wonder why that person is so close to my bumper, but wait! Its just my camper. LOL I am not a full timer as of yet , but who knows what tomorrow might bring.
Sensible, likable fellow !!
I like what he did with his table. Swing arm makes a lot of sense.
A liner seems like a neat way to go. A frame headroom, lightweight, flexibility. My only critique of stock designs would be more custom interior accents such as pine interior roofing to make a more homey feel.
I'm very happy to see folks making due..I truly hope this is sustainable and becomes acceptable.
This is going to be more common as more folks retire and find out that the money they paid into for their retirement was poorly mismanaged and now left to fend on their own.. It's a great
way to live within your means without being homeless. Best wishes and good luck because
I myself thought I'd have enough S.S. but now I'm not far behind and looking for the RV life as
an option as well. Thanks to Bob for all the invaluable information.
Your tow vehicle makes most of the difference in what’s best. My Trlr was 12k. I paid 0 down 147. A month for 10 years. A hell of an inexpensive way to live WELL
I love this shower! 😆👍
Excellent info from a plumber on bacteria etc in water tanks...reaffirmed my simplistic approach. Also, "women shouldn't be afraid of this --it easy to do"--really needed to hear that. Thx for all the tips!
Used to have an A-Liner Scout model - very basic and the lower price reflected that making it affordable as a new trailer. These are a definite step up from tenting ... get you up off the ground, the walls are insulated so provide more comfort, mine had an inside height of 9' 7", very easy to setup and take down ... and the list goes on. I only had minor issues with the foam sealing and had to replace with a kit you can get from the factory and replaced the original converter - that's it, no other issues.
The only reason I sold it was I saw a Class B up for sale at a price I couldn't refuse. As mentioned, Slim Potatohead has a very good channel if you are interested in the A-Liners and the mods he's done. Cheers, Steve
I have one of those showers for camping. They are wonderful.
where do you get them? I thought he would say that.
I really like that a liner. It has wonderful head room for a tidy sized camper. Also like the solid walls and lightweight. 😃 👍
I've always found these units to feel very spacious for their size possibly because the windows in the gables give a huge amount of interior light.
I like that you mentioned Slim he’s from Calgary nice guy 🇨🇦
Looks like a very smart Bud. Enjoy life, thanks for showing us around.
Saw these several years ago at the Tampa super show. Well designed and durable
Thanks for sharing your home Bud. Glad you are enjoying life.
Thanks so much Bob & Bud!! Great camper!!😊
Great video...thanks!
I'll be out there soon, hope to see you guys
I really hope one day you meet up with Slim Potatohead and can interview him!! he has amazing ideas !! When I found his channel it renewed my interest in not just traveling but why I wanted to travel. Me and my husband are about to have a empty house... Our kids are growing up and moving out. Well when you have a 4 bedroom double wide mobile home with toooooo much space that isn't ACTUALLY mobile with 2 people you find it's more space than u need. So now we have to plan what do we want to do next....
Thanks for sharing your Aliner, Bud. I'm glad to see a video of an A-frame as I will be getting one soon. Used one's are hard to come by, as Bud said but I'm hopeful I'll find one. I'm also a fan of Slim Potatohead's channel. He has so many great ideas for a-frames.
I like this camper but I need a bit more space ! He is really a nice man. Thank to both of you.
Well done. Good ideas, beautiful and practical. Thankyou.🙂
I've used the interlocking boat deck material for shower mat (I'll have to check, I think name brand is Dura-grid) - works very well and can be cut to custom size.
Very nice! Looks a lot bigger on the inside, than it does on the outside.
Love the table arrangement.
I really appreciate this video, Bob. I'll be getting an Aliner (or some brand of A frame) soon and so I've been trying to learn the "ins and outs" of owning and maintaining one.
I am glad to hear a plumber mention dirty water tanks.
Great interview Bob!!! Love the little A1 lots of head room and storage...impressed it has a hot water heater and shower lol...
but where did he get the shower? It didn't come with the Aliner, did it?
This is the Aliner model I hope to get in a few years when I can no longer climb in and out of my teardrop. Though i just camp not full time. Really enjoyed this video.
Bud...you went right by my place in McKinleyville, CA...I would love to buy lunch or dinner and meet you....this way of life sounds fascinating!
I was looking at the Flagstaff and Rockwood hard-sides from Forest river. To get the nice bathroom/shower/cassette toilet, you have to get the longer trailer. But I don't need the dinette or large bed. Would be nice to find something the size of Bud's but with the "deluxe" shower and toilet. I think the small hard-side is the answer for me.
I found this video very enjoyable and informative-- had been wondering about doing something like this.
So Bob, it would be great if you added contact information for the people in your videos-- frustrating to not be able to get in touch with them. Thanks!
So happy to have this tour. We've met several Aliner travelers on the road but never had a tour. Thanks!
Boy are you getting popular, I had 2 watch 3 commercials, good for you.
A real surprise inside! Thanks for this interview/tour!
Nice review of the a frame trailer. I recently purchased an a frame and I really like mine as well. Mine is a different brand. Being a woman I was concerned with setting it up so I got my trailer with the lift assist. All I have to do is push a button. Thanks for the review. Love your channel.
Hi Tracy would love it if you could share your set up. I just purchased an A frame also. Sounds very interesting and easy.
Fabulous video. Thanks, Bob. Two handsome hunky older men. This site is better than Tinder for seniors. Bud, what a catch. Plumber, electrican,
pilot. How could they let you be single????? See you on the road. All the best, Maxine
Bob, can you forward this compliment to Bud?
Somebody's looking for a husband lol
Hey Marty, Haha. Not exactly. But terrific male friends are always welcome. Maxine
Lol
Sweet :)
Maxine Brody you go girl!
Great Tour. Happiness to you in your adventure..
Great Lil A-Liner. Thank you Bob and Bud...informative interview. Great tour!
Bud, I am proud of you! You are out there! I am next! I am thinking to leave Florida the end of the month for my adventures! Love you use those copper pots!
Another very nice, new nomad.
You can spot a plumber a mile away, I see the table is supported with galvanized pipe and plumbing do-dads. My brother is a plumber and can construct anything from copper pipe and solder.
Very cute camper. Good interview. I feel the same way about meeting people. I have to push myself to get out there and be involved with others.
thank you bud, encouraging talk!
This was much more interesting and informative. Thanks for sharing.
Nice Happy Trails
Like this more than I thought I would
Thanks for showing us around..!!
if i was him, i'd look at getting a larger A liner or trailer situation. Don't know what his storage situation looks like for inside the truck but that's a sizable truck.
Very interesting interview, He is the second person I, know of who is full timing in a Airliner trailer, I met over 25 years ago, When these units frost came out with a good sized bathtub underneath one of the dinnet
Sorry about that, my comment was sent before I completed it, The guy who had a Aliner 25 years ago had a bathtub underneath one of his dinette seat. Stay safe, Be careful, and Keep on rolling..
Years ago, the Today Show had a Saturday feature, once a month, that featured "new things." This is how I found out about the Aliner. The company made only one with the hot tub to get on the show. and it worked. I was intrigued especially when they demonstrated how easy it was to put up and down. Also, it was made south of Pittsburgh where I'm from. when we needed a new camper we bought one and loved it until our camping days were over.
At one point, the company even made a tiny, one person model that could be pulled by a motorcycle. It was so cute.
Great video as usual. Helping those of us looking to join your way of life... love these ideas! Thanks
Thank you Bud.
Good for you!!! Be happy!!!
Thanks Bob 🌹👍✋😎👏 Great video .. all the best from Saudi Arabia
Awesome dude right there. I love your channel. I love how he said I got out here as soon as I could
That guy sure knows his stuff about "Mr Potatohead" he really has his A Liner fixed up great.
You guys look like brothers haha, almost like twins !
I thought exactly the same thing !
Absolutely helpful info on the water supply thank you so much! Really helpful interview. Happy Trails!
Thanks for sharing and also about the water usage as well thanks
Thanks for another type of "home" for us
Yeah, I heard him say my home town of Bellingham on here! Loving your Aliner! Thanks
Watching the video again and realized this was out just before I got my Aliner! I really enjoy it and don’t get out enough. I don’t use the water system in it either. I use a urinal at night and typically have a bathroom the rest of the time but carry an emergency potty. I see so many rigs with everything inside but I typically do all my cooking, cleaning and lounging outside. I use an Exped Mega mat Duo 10 insulated sleeping pad for great comfort and warmth.
My Son put me onto this - loved the video and loved Bud. Didn't get to see his dog though...
Excellent helpful info on the water
Thanks Bud for sharing ,tour. Thanks Bob enjoyed interview. HAPPY SAFE Trails. Jp
Nice, it's time to enjoy you and your A-home
i am so glad you mentioned slim potatohead..i watched everyone of his youtube videos..i watched one about the sink too. Great video thank you
Awesome trailer option!
Very informative. Thank you.
I ❤️slim potato head (Canadian) 🥔 head!😊
Thank you for the insight into happiness. Happiness is what a lot of people are searching for. Today’s frenetic pace of life on the hamster wheel trying to get ahead is soul crushing, no doubt about it. There is a way out of the endless cycle of work and spend, thanks to the Nomads getting the word out on UA-cam.
Great video we have an Aliner also. Love the sun awning does this fellow have his own chanel. I have some questions
