Ive driven R600s rated at 285 opened to about 400 and 320s opeded to 350 and 400 plus a 350 and V8s 400 opened to 440 and a stock 500 all of them on logging and each and everyone of them bring a smile to my face when i think about them . They had a great mix of gear boxes from a 5 spd a 5×4 spicer joey a 9spd and 12 spds . While the 5 and 9 spds were easy i am at a tossup which box i liked best and id nearly say the twinstick joey 5×4 . A cranked up 6 cylinder that passes everything you catch back late 80s got your blood pumping but a V8 cracking or plodding could sadden any truck it came up against.
earphones on turn the volume right up fukn awesome. Pity Scania didnt buy into Mack instead. at least thel be a V8 thumping between its rails. sorry Mack purist
'42 Ford; i used to drive a couple of different v8 macks back in the day, and some would say i'm a mack man. maybe, maybe not. i can tell you this though ,the newish m10 superliner ive been doing a bit in pulls the old bangers like that right apart for quick times. and thats as a double. speshly in the mountains like the golden highway an that. in their day those superliners were the bees knees and today the new sperliners are the bees knees. you can back that in. over!
They're better than volvos,they have different parts in the motors and are still made here,the auto trannies might be the same but that's it.A mack built in Australia by Australian and are still a far better truck than those other things.
