If I was ever in a tank, the sheer fucking magnitude of Jon Bernthal and Shia LeBuffs shouts as they fired would keep me going. Legitimately, these two bring SO much to these scenes. The rest of the cast is amazing but those two stand out so massively to me.

As a german, it does hurt 2 see the german soldiers who were coocking. I know in these movies the germans are always portrayed bad, but my grandpa had to fight for germany as well. He was 21 and a simple farmer. Got shot twice but luckely survived. He wasnt a bad man or anything
No offence but it’s war the film is about story’s told from tank veterans the way we portray the Germans today which most of them were just following orders but that’s how Germans back then would’ve portrayed the US also Germany was more brutal
I met a WW2 German tank driver that immigrated to Canada after the war. His stories about the Russian front were unsettling. He was called back from the Russian Front after D-day and ended up surrendering to Americans. My father was a US WW2 artillery officer in the European Theatre. My father was also on occupation duty in Germany after the fighting. My take away is that hatred is a defense mechanism we bring forward to do what must be done to defend our buddies in battle. For the most part after the smoke clears it goes away and most soldiers choose to talk about anything but battle experiences other than with those who have been there. I wish that I could have introduced my father to the Canadian/German tank driver. They would have gotten on well, both gone now of course. I’m 68.
It was war. I'm sure there were people on both sides who did what you call their duty. And then there were the lunatics and weirdos etc. ®️🐝

In 1945 my father left high school early joining the merchant marines When The War ended he joined the Army and was in Japan for the occupation until he came home he was a true patriot he was 95 and died September 4th 2022 Rest in Peace Dad love you always
Merchant Marine was an absolute necessity to the war. By the end, it was mostly being crewed by young boys and old men, unable to go into military. They did the job.

'BEST JOB EVER'
Best job I ever had.
Yeah
Best job I ever had.
Damn right
Till you get a round tgrown into your tank
The best part was this was the first war movie to actually have a real Tiger. You can almost forgive all the rest of it for that. At that range the high velocity 76 would have been effective against it without racing its turret speed to get behind it, but the Tiger would have shot at him before he shot at the other tank with the regular 75. It would have come down to who shot first between those two tanks at that range. The best thing about the Tiger was the gun. With that 88 it could sit back at longer ranges than a lot of its opponents and take out a lot of stuff from a good position. That's where they had the big advantage.
Cool name, too.
Must be a reckless Tiger commander
Seeing his country losing he just made his crew go on a suicidal charge thinking he might won or die trying
German tank used in movie, it was Tiger 131 from The Bovington Tank Museum. Only one Tiger I with good condition in the world. Maybe somewhere someone bulid replica of Tiger I, but find another original from ww II is most impossible. That's why you won't see the real Tiger thing in low-budget movies. The battle episode between the Tiger and 3 Shermans is absurd. Especially when german tank it drives out of hiding position into the open field. Stupid idea and an invitation to die. Mostly crew of Tiger was hide and try atack from far distance. In real fight all Shermans will be destroyed very quick, but ofcourse this is movie and was great to see tactical fight by Shermans vs one Tiger 😉
Its a movie dude not a true life documentary. Just gtfo lol
1:43 Wardaddy best moment
Huh, I just noticed that Peterson was actually commanding a 76 Sherman. Fancy that.
Guess the Tiger's target priority isn't terrible. Still bad, but not as much
Yeah and Peterson had a couple good hits on the Tiger early on. I'm not sure at what range that shot was at but I'm fairly certain the round would penetrate that front plate on the Tiger.
@@TheBarber5550 I'm no military expert and I do not claim to'v ever been inside a tank, but I'm fairly sure it's less than a kilometer. And, at least on paper, the 76 SHOULD be able to pen the Tiger's front plate from that distance
Edit.
The scene is still pretty damn cool
@@notdoomguy1616 yeah, just based on reports I've read on the 76mm penetrating the front armor on the Tiger is the root of my knowledge.
The tank commander would have still gone for the first tank in the column because it was the most dangerous and that is what they were taught and in the last part of that scene the tank wasn’t firing. In a real battle they would have all been destroyed
@@TheBarber5550 76mm would've penetrated no problem when they were halted at the tree line, obviously for the plot of the movie they had to make it dramatic and drive into the tiger, but in a real situation, they would've sat there and pummeled the tiger. While the 75mm would've sat and watched. Also, the tiger never would've moved either. They had no turret stabilization as the Shermans did.
While the film is pretty unrealistic / inaccurate at some points, it still is a great film. Would recommend.
Really? The special effects look amazing and the audio is very nice and visceral, but everything else seems cringingly bad.

Good honest hatred of the enemy - a WWII B-17 crewman once told me they had a bombardier who would do his drops while yelling “Die You Bastards!”

@@TheBarber5550 Indeed, the accent threw me off
Yeah, you can still buy .50BMG rounds filled with the stuff. Tungsten-steel penetrator cuts through vehicle armor, and WP warhead starts a BBQ of whatever is inside.
I can confirm that it does indeed spall off into little balls like that. Army field manual says to dig them out with your knife before they burn too deep. Smothering and water don't work.
Accurate or not, I just love this movie

Really stupid Hollywood version of tank warfare
Oh Hollywood, do you really believe that (apart from the stupid, blinded, radical SS idiots...or the Russians) some infantryman would have run into a tank or a machine gun in such a stupid way? You take cover and don't run around in the tank's field of view and flank the tank or retreat. The Germans didn't conquer Europe because they were so stupid.

the only thing that would scare the most in WW2 is if a tank barrel was slowly turning towards my position.
in the tiger scene, the shermans would have fired smoke to blind the tiger, then dispersed, and not lined up to make them less work for the 88mm cannon
@Keaton Castillo he's not a loser lol and this isnt fun... hes got a point, tactically his strategy is period accurate and many Sherman Crews have talked about about deploying that particular tactic,,, and it paying off...

The tiger tank can do a lot of damage but it’s too slow for the M4 Sherman 🇺🇸
Funny thing, Tiger's top speed was only a bit below Sherman's
The Tiger was actually fairly fast, its just that its engine was underpowered and its mechanical problems kept it from showing its true potential.

I really liked the way this movie showed just a clip of the outer lower gun firing after the character starts shooting it. I’m not sure what the correct term would be, but it shows like a sub-persona of the new guy when the gun is shown firing from the outside. Also I’m glad this video wrapped up finishing the good bits of the scenes. Nice editing style

One of the greatest war films ever - without a doubt!
The 76mm gun at a certain distance would’ve penetrated the armor of the tiger harder than Riley Reid does
- though I have seen most of the movie from clips I think I will download it, just seems too badass to miss.
Best part of this movie is watching Tank Enthusiasts cry of the Tiger Tank not winning
Ah yes, the very logical scenario:
"My tank is hit! Its on fire! Despite having my hatches open for me to easily evacuate the vehicle I shall hurriedly sit patiently and burn to death!"
the inside was also in flames, death was inevitable.
@@not_spooky The crew's hatches were completely open. The flames were quick to build sure, but the driver, loader, and Co driver should have been more than capable of ditching the vehicle in under 5 seconds; With significant, albeit survivable wounds at the very least.
There's a reason why the US reported that less than 1 tank crew were killed per destroyed tank.
Brilliant ! the end's a bit crazy but still a brilliant film
If the Tiger had continued to back up while hooking to the left to keep the frontal armor towards Fury, that fight would have ended much differently.
The mistake was when the German Tiger Commander called Forward.
Why did he though
The reason for the Tiger not turning towards Fury was because Tiger 131 wasn't allowed to turn its tracks in the movie set so yea
Still not sure why the Tiger commander moved forward out of the hiding spot though
Terrible mistake. That Tiger could have used it's long range 88 to it's advantage.
Yup, a crucial mistake indeed, but it´s a movie :)
Man really said "let 'em cook" in 1942 lingo crazy
People that nitpick the movie for realism or lack thereof are too annoying. They must’ve wanted to crucify the first terminator film when he’d shoot a rifle and you’d hear a shotgun blast 🙄
Great clips
Of course you don't die when the germans are kind enough to miss all the time.
Yeah, I liked how they were able to just wiggle the machine guns around and still manage to hit their targets. The bow gunner seemed to have uncanny luck with that. . .
The best movie ever!
BEST JOB EVER
Amazing how much plot armour protects the crew from anti-tank guns (which destroyed more tanks than any other means). Not to mention finding a Tiger all on its own and that is tactically inept. And not to mention an entire enemy unit that doesn't know just to fall back and call in fire support or flank and use their panzerfausts from the sides...
Hmmm for some reason, I've heard those exact points before. Strange, Almost like that's what everyone's saying in the comments. Interesting

Quite a film. Quite a cast. Nice.
saw clips of this in the British Tank Museum and then walked around surrounded by operational Panzers and Tigers and these speedy American hot boxes, some showing marks of battle. This is a great goddamn movie if you haven't seen it do it. Shaia is a weird guy but he nails it here, everyone does. Underrated master piece. The image of the wehrmacht forces being shifted by that pile of crap burnt out Sherman that nonetheless will not be shifted is pretty cool and I often think of it. Knowing the nickname for the Sherman by its crews was "the ronson" Ronson being zippos competitor who's slogan was "lights up every time " will never get old for me.
The movie I think also illustrates a tank isn't the vehicle, but the crew.

How did the pak40 fail to light up the Sherman tank from 50 feet away?
movie. Sherman bounces all German AT rounds.
A lot of people said the end fighting scene in Fury was not realistic enough because there was no way they could have survived under that may attacking Germans, and they were correct, but not in the way you would think.
The endung was UNREALISTIC because it wasn't ONE TANK and a small SQUAD of MEN that held off HUNDREDS of attacking Germans at an important crossroads
It was ONE MAN (Audie Murphy) that jumped on top of a damaged tank and held off hundreds of attacking Germans.
One of the amazing pieces of Audie Murphy's story is that he was rejected from the United States Marine Corps for being too short and joined the Army instead. He won the Congressional Medal of Honor due to his bravery in this encounter, and after the war, he became an award winning actor in hollywood.
The tanks is on fire so let's go back inside it.
ON ITS WAY!!!!
Love how they tied Jesus in the movie so heavily❤️
Those guys sure couldn't get out of that tank fast enough after it was hit by the panzerfaust. The driver and bow gunner actually ducked their heads back down into the tank.
Its instinctive for them to get into the tank when they sense trouble.
That's what they have been taught and trained for years.
And they probably didnt even know they have been hit with a panzerfaust.
