We found that the blend is about 40% body vs 60% string. The combination gives you all of the benefits of a magnetic pickup with a much more acoustic tone.
I've got a passive M1. . .and I LOVE IT!!! If this is an improvement, then I'll have to try it out. Either way, y'all are awesome and you've improved the quality of my life by providing a great-sounding set of tools for live work.
I like the concept of this pickup.... And do love the sound..... But you absolutely have to make this with a simple hook up. I don't want to have to drill out my strap button...I'm very happy with the cord hanging out of the front.....

Does anybody know if there is a difference in feedback sensitivity between the M80 and M1A? I suspect the M80 would feedback a little sooner because it picks up more body resonance.
I have a question! what Taylor model is that? and is it true that taylors come with a pre-drill hole for this type of pickups?? i'm planning on getting one for my 812. thanks in advance :)
Hi bbunters. I am not sure when or if we will do a comparison video, but I have a feeling that someone will shortly after we start shipping them. They sound very different even thought they look similar and are a similar idea. The suspension makes the biggest difference, but the preamps are different as well. I want to buy lr baggs m80 at an online shop.. my question is your video is just 10 years ago discussing lr baggs m80.. my question is 1. the stock lr baggs I bought was a black box (the newest is a brown box).. if i buy it, is it still in good condition, the store was established in 2016 i assume the lr baggs is 6 years old.. if i buy it is there a problem because the old stock is about 6 years.. i hope you can help answer
Hi. It should be completely fine. Some players have had the pickup in their guitar longer than that. We switched to different packaging some years back after an issue we had with our supplier. We wanted to simplify our packaging and that is why our new boxes are kraft.
I got a Taylor 414CE LTD that sounds great acoustic BUT amplified is awful.... I was lookin for smtg like that..cause I searching flexible sound (jazzy, acoustic, fpicking...) What do you think?
Mr Baggs, the high E and B strings are still louder than the Low E. Please do something about that. Do something to ensure that all 6 strings are evenly didtributed to the output. We can hardly hear the low E. It gets left out by the B string too loud
My M80 came with the high E pole piece removed. I also removed the B string pole piece to balance the string volume. Sounds more balanced no natural to me.
The audio has a noise, a high frequency one, not good for the purpose of the video, check it out. In my mac computer is super obvious. I know is a great product, it was a bad engineering, the eq is way to bright, roll out gently the top freq.

i just bought the lr baggs m80 and tried to switch the pegs to lefty and i'm getting a ton of muddy low end. Anyone know how to resolve this?

On the active mode do you need gain on the mixing board ?!? When I put some the natural sound vanish and a more electric sound come in ?!?
I need to de-string everytime in order to reach the active and passive switch. Just realize....
