    Very good video, I like that you also were reiterating the diffrence between the port jobs, cause it's easy to get lost when somone only mentions somthing like that one time, then you have To go back in the videos to figure which model or thing they were talking about.

      Glad it was helpful. A lot of creators lose touch with what it’s like being on the other end of the screen and they just run through stuff like the viewer is at the same experience level with the product that they are. Port styles can be confusing, I try and keep it all easily understood

    Great video. I do wish you would have added the stock config muzzle rise numbers in with the ported versions though. I'm sure I could find it in one of your other videos though.

      The old numbers wouldnt be an accurate representation. Carpel tunnel hand strength from one day to the next varies quite a bit. Different ammo brands and weights. No thumb ledge on the old video vs having it on this one. So the last video just wouldnt have any bearing numbers wise. I did want to do some stock numbers in there but didnt have a stock barrel or slide. I do at some point want to do a video like that but Ill need to buy another HCP…and right now I have two guns I’m trying to add to the collection first

    Hey Mike glad you went through this... I went with the Enforcer cut on the Echelon... Jeff after he explained it was just like you did on your review... He was telling me it tilts the blast out upward and more forward away from yourself to act like a top port using the blast for gain on the new Enforcer style ... Blows the mind after your few mags on the cat pro I see it... Your both you and Jeff are an asset to YT and social media on 2a... Thanks for all you and Jeff do can't say or stress it enough... One day I'll meet you both...

    Great video thank you, I had a PDP with Floyd’s commander porting great gun but gave to my brother when I got into 1911/2011 DS’s, I did pick up TP9, to have a Striker fired gun back in the collection, I’m going to reach out to Floyd’s and see if they can perform the “Enforcer” porting, it’s so close dimension wise to an Echelon, really appreciate your empirical review on both of these ports!🙏🏽👍

    Interesting result. Would not have thought that. Sometimes the mantis measures erroneous results though, because it does not take into consideration in the recoil angle, if you dip the gun underneath the starting point, for example if you flinch. However, I like your approach. Thanks a lot.

    Hey 360TS, because of your HCP upgrade recommendations I’ve been very financially irresponsible haha. But I was leaning towards either the Floyd’s Enforcer porting for the HCP or LaserCNC’s 5 ported holes at the top of the gun. Im conflicted between the 2 because I love the Cerakote finish and crowning of Floyd’s, but LCNC’s 5 ports looks like it shoots flatter.

      I dont think going by a visual is the best way to go. There are too many variables. Like I said, I struggle with carpel tunnel and most of the time I have nearly no grip strength. Also you dont know what kind of ammo they are using in their videos. That has a lot to do with muzzle rise. The ammo I was using had some heat to it but if I was using some of the 150gr syntec by Federal…it would be stupid flat. It’s tough deciding what to do. All I can do is give you my personal experience for you to factor in when deciding who to go through.

      @@360TacticalSolutions As for the Floyd mag well I love the look and it seems to look comfortable and the extensions look great , but the reason I am hesitant is because the mag well restrict me from using stock mags if I am not mistaken. And by putting on or making the choice of having the mag well I have to get the mag extension for the mags to function.
      Now I don't mind doing this upgrade but if I choose to get another hellcat to keep it consistent I will have to make a choice to put it on others also to have them all functional. I stand corrected if I am wrong.

    I appreciate the data driven analysis you did comparing the two porting options from Floyd’s Custom Shop. I recently came across another ported option for the hellcat pro offered by Laser Blade Engraving (LBE). Would you consider doing a similar test with LBE’s porting option?

    • @360TacticalSolutions
      @360TacticalSolutions  3 місяці тому

      Thanks for dropping in the comments. I’m always looking for potential content for the upcoming lineup. I don’t know testing that option is viable though. The cost of another HCP coupled with the cost of having it ported, waiting period for gun purchase, time to have it shipped off and ported, 1000 rounds to really get an idea of its quality…it’s a pretty major investment financially as well as time. It’s about 40hrs of work to plan, film, edit and produce a video. I’d really have to find a HCP that’s used and priced ridiculously low in order for the math to work out. I will consider it, but the planets will have to align just right

      It looks like a 100% copy of the Monsoon Tactical port except im guessing the work on the factory port is better quality. I think their use of the word comp is silly when it’s a port, not a comp. Im sure it works well but I dont plan to buy one. I actually think I’ll buy another standard HCP for a slightly different build purpose but I wont be buying the factory ported version. Seems like a pretty good value for someone wanting to get into a HCP though

    Can you plz test this? W/ Enforcer Port, rotate the pistol 90 degree and place an banana 1 feet above so that the port is facing the fruit
    If no shrapnel getting poked into the banana, that would be fantastic!

    • @360TacticalSolutions
      @360TacticalSolutions  4 місяці тому

      I think you’ve asked this before. You already have a ported HCP through another company correct? The Floyd’s port system is backbored which pretty well eliminates any issues where the metal jacket gets stripped off. Rotating the gun one way or the other would be unnecessary in a test like that, it wouldn’t change anything. What’s going to come from the port is carbon and unspent powder. Shrapnel is a non issue

    • @stonebat

      @@360TacticalSolutions Yes I did ask before
      I don’t have access to outdoor range. Indoor ranges wouldn’t allow me to test the banana lol
      Retention shooting practice w/ arm rotated outward would be nice for ported pistol as the port opening stays away from face. But the side porting may become issue. Hopefully the Floyd side port pukes gas more angled upward

    Hey Mike First of all thank you for this video I love your content.
    I have a few questions if you can answer I would greatly appreciate it. I noticed When you were doing the comparison videos in the beginning, you were shooting the "enforcer ported Barrel" With the "commander ported slide" yet You were categorizing it as the "enforcer". Is the port on top of the slide going to make a difference performance wise vs if you would shoot the “enforcer” ported barrel with a slide that does not have a cutout on the top and rather just have side cut-outs? Could that be another factor/variable to get the best results for recoil management by having the “enforce” ported barrel matched with the “commander” ported slide- almost as a hybrid of the two? I saw Only at the end of your video when you were giving over the results/conclusions on the different port jobs was when u presented the “enforcer barrel” with the “enforcer slide” together. I’m asking because if I would get this done by Floyd’s custom shop - I would choose the “enforcer port” option for the barrel and slide ( the pistol would be a hellcat pro) but I just want to clarify that as I don’t know if I would get different results. maybe the results you got was because you used the enforcer ported barrel with the commander ported slide? I want to purchase the hellcat Pro and as you probably know Springfield just came out with the "hellcat Pro comp". at first thought I was eager to just purchase it with the factory port job however this video seems to be showing the side ports are better for recoil management. What’s your opinion on Springfield’s decision to make a port on the top of the barrel and slide as opposed to side cuts like the “enforcer ports” Like of course they do their own research and development for their products. I’m thinking like why wouldn’t they do the port jobs on the side of the barrel and slide if the results are better?
    I wouldn’t think it’s more costly. Let me know your thoughts and also if you can clarify about the mixing and matching of the “enforcer”barrel with the commander slide that I was under the impression was happening in your video.
    Keep up the awesome content u provide! Thanks

    • @360TacticalSolutions
      @360TacticalSolutions  2 місяці тому

      Theres a lot to unpack there. Let’s see if I can make this make the most sense. The reason I put the Enforcer barrel into the Commander slide has to do with the fact that I have the Commander slide set up with the MCarbo Titanium striker set which decreases the trigger pull weight. If I had the stock striker on one and the MCarbo on the other then my trigger pull would be different which can throw off the recoil measurements. I didnt want that to be a factor so I just put the Enforcer ported barrel over on that Commander slide. There is no advantage to mixing them. In all actuality it’s probably more a disadvantage. I was scolded by Floyds after this lol because the holes on the slide for the Enforcer are slightly different than the Commander. I probably would have gotten even better recoil management had I stuck with the correct slide/barrel combination for the Enforcer. Maybe not a huge increase but a small one at lease.
      The new HCP “comp” is an exact copy of the Monsoon Tactical port for the HCP. Im sure that SA did their research to a certain degree but honestly these companies are super lazy and just try to do whatever is fast in order to get it to market. I feel like Springfield had seen the Monsoon Tactical port, tested it, copied it and just put it out there. Porting is a complicated thing and to be honest most people just dont understand how the specifics work. They see side ports and they say oh thats stupid, side ports dont do anything…recoil doesn’t push to the sides, thats a waste. The reality is you have muzzle rise, muzzle dip and what many would consider felt recoil. Thats 3 motions…muzzle ruse is up, muzzle dip is down and felt recoil is a rearward force. Floyds side ports on the Enforcer are angled in such a way to combat the rearward force of the felt recoil as well as the muzzle rise but again, the vast majority of people think they know more than they really do so they try and argue against them. Muzzle dip is usually due to your reaction to the recoil or it has to do with your guidrod spring being too strong. A top port like the new HCP Comp has, obviously works against muzzle rise. The tricky part is finding the right formula to get the results you are looking for.
      At the end of the day a company like Springfield isnt interested in the best performance as much as they are quickly releasing a product that somewhat works and the general public looks at and believes or understands works. If they copied the Floyds Enforcer porting the entire internet would be set on fire by people arguing about how it cant possibly do anything for how the gun handles. They needed a fast and easy design that the average person can look at and recognize as a porting system that will tame the recoil impulse of the gun. Not to say the new HCP Comp isnt effective, I’m just saying it was a fast, easy and cheap way for them to make an upgraded version to collect sales without investing a ton of money into research and development. If someone were in the gun store deciding between a standard HCP and HCP Comp id say go Comp. If someone has a HCP already and wants it ported my advice would be Floyds Enforcer porting. Hope that helps and wasnt too far off track lol

    Ive been watching a bunch of your videos since i purchased my own hellcat pro. I know this a question i should be asking Floyds, but did you have to pay extra to refinish the machined surfaces? Or is that included in the price for porting? Do they send it back bare metal if you don't pay for new cerakote? Are the barrel and slide stainless, and if so does it matter? Thanks for any response.

    • @360TacticalSolutions
      @360TacticalSolutions  4 місяці тому

      Refinishing is an extra charge. You have the option of Cerakote or DLC depending on what you want to spend and how durable you want it to be. Personally I feel it’s worth the extra cost to have it all DLC coated. I dont know if they stiff have the option to ship it back raw but they used to. In that case it would just be the surface that was cut that would be raw metal. As far as that goes im not totally sure what kind of steel the barrel is. That would definitely be a question for Floyd’s

    Im hoping to get my p10c ported this year. My worry is its my home defense gun too. I have a couple smaller carry guns, but the p10c is my only fuller sized. Would you have any issue running a ported gun for home defense? Or would getting a threaded barrel and comp be better so it could technically be removed if needed.

    • @360TacticalSolutions
      @360TacticalSolutions  4 місяці тому

      Getting a threaded barrel and comp can be difficult in WA, Ive been waiting for one to drop from the sky but no luck yet lol. For home defense I honestly don't think it matters. A lot of people will debate this to the death but one way or another you are going to fuck up your hearing and the flash will create issues. Doesn't matter if it's comped, ported or stock. I keep a weapon light on my home defense pistol and it's going to level out any flash from the muzzle. As far as my hearing goes...either way if I get into a gun fight in my house my hearing is gone. I want every advantage I can get if I have to use my pistol and some of those advantages come at a potential personal cost. Its all about you and what you think helps vs hinders in the most likely scenario
