I don't usually comment, but I wanted to take a minute to say that I really appreciate you wholesome content. I appreciate your honesty and agenda-less reviews. I appreciate the sweetness of Suzie. In an age of sensationalism and negativity y'all are a beacon of purity. I pray the world doesn't crush that out of you. It'll try.
Raising children at my age(63)has been a joy for me. I’m a grandmother alone raising grandchildren. Whatever situation, you just step up and do what you have to do to care for your family. We never know how life can change for us, but we keep living, giving of ourselves to the betterment of others. And yes, we do camp, grandmama getting them into the great outdoors. I thought about Abraham and Jacob in the Bible as you mentioned your brother-in-law and thought about how much more patience they had as they grew older and were able to give more in some ways than when they were younger. My grandchildren are the delight of my life! On Saturday’s after Band practice, and football band practice, Academic Team work, Beta Club, etc. all week, we enjoy watching your videos and just chill with you camping in the rain! We love your rain vids!
I hope people realize how much work it is to make a video like this. Moving the camera 1000 times and getting different shots is so time consuming not to mention the editing after. Great work as always and thanks for the content.
I really appreciate how he actually sits there and enjoys the outdoors. He doesn’t have to run around and hunt a wild boar for survival. He lets us take in the scenery and chill.
I keep quiet too. I get totally involved in watching you and learning how you do things. You are so kind and thoughtful. You care about what you do and you love the heck out of it. That’s what makes you so special. You keep camping and I’ll be here to camp with you.
I'm not a people person either. That's why I love camping. Especially when you're out in the middle of nowhere. I have a portable solar panel, so if I need to charge something, I can, tho it does take forever. It's just a wee thing, backpack sized. But it works. Thanks for sharing all your adventures. I had to laugh over that comment too. Some ppl can be pretty judgemental. But I try not to let it bug me. 👍 Positive thinking, right?
I am in the Army and really appreciate your honesty and integrity! I also really appreciate the fact that your reviews are straight forward with no bias and haven’t been bought! Keep knocking it out!!
Another lovely adventure to share from my back patio. I grew up in eastern KY and now live in Knoxville, TN. Luke, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a little cake for breakfast, and if it is reminiscent of cornbread, just that much more delicious. Growing up in Appalachia, cornbread and biscuits were our definition of bread. Be safe.
This is what I like about watching your videos Is you just sit down and chat You know how to hold an audience by just talking all by yourself Good job.
i love cooking simple things like hot dogs n burgers when i am camping. it nice to have easy meals like that so you don't have so much weight to carry in n out. plus i just enjoy keeping things simple camping as it gives me more time to appreciate the beauty of mother nature.
LUKE! Firstly - I enjoy your informative and exciting content. I Love cold snowy weather! 2ndly - I love your logo of Strength and Honour. I personally would include Respect and Kindness - but you include these attributes anyway. 3rdly - I adore the way you talk about the love of your close relatives, especially your Wife. You my Man, are the very definition of a thoroughly decent bloke. You have a subscriber forever xx
I absolutely love giving myself permission to sit still and be quiet. I used to do that in my hunting days. Taught my kids to do it. We used to play a game of sitting quietly and identifying every sound. They loved it when they were little girls and do it with their kids too. It’s okay to be still and listen. From northern Kentucky #2. Watching again. Sometimes you sit on a stool, sometimes a chair. Do you have a preference? Which is lighter weight? Is the chair easy to get into and out of? Sometimes you put a mat down, under the feet of the chair, sometimes you put big feet on the feet of the chair. Which do you prefer? Thanks again…from an old vet, retired in the hills of east Tennessee…finally.
Nothing as wonderful as a mountain rain. As a child I would sit on my grandmothers front porch and listen to those bursts of rainfall followed by the cleanest smell that I can remember. This happened in Fletcher not to far from where you are Luke. I envy you now as you continue to enjoy that mountain air. I now live in eastern North Carolina on the coast. Here the rain does not produce the same feel or smell. The higher elevations are really different. I do enjoy your adventures in my old mountains. And heart to heart I know why you enjoy the Mountain storms and gentle rains. They really are different. Love what you do.
Great video. Been watching for awhile now and I enjoy the adventures and gear reviews. You work very hard and I appreciate all you do. I also love the fact that you’re in the NC mountains. Me too. 😊. Stay safe.
Hi Luke!: ANOTHER cool adventure!! THANKS! I don't know why some people think they have to be the FOOD POLICE. If they are healthy eaters more power to them, but don't dictate to others. The Hot Dog thing was hilarious! Speaking of food, I LOVE those Yakisoba noodles! My favorites are the Teriyaki Beef and Chicken flavor! Going to look for the Korean BBQ flavor! Adding some proteins to them is a great idea!
When I was 11, my step-dad packed my Mom and I up, and we took off from WI pulling a simple pop-up camper. We took 2 weeks traveling the WY Rocky Mts. It was my first ever camping. Every evening we set up in a rain squall. Every morning the rain returned for a good hour. Knowing no different, I thought that this was the way camping was supposed to be! To this day, it isn't camping without some sprinkles!
I’m 69 yrs old & use to go camping all by myself & love it. My Mom gave me a what for & told me to not ever do that again. I’m Taurus the Bull, it didn’t stop me. Raccoons is the only thing I had trouble with. However nowadays it wood not be a good idea even though I do have protection.
Thank you for another great video Luke ... oh yeah! I love all the sounds ...the rain, assembling your gear, walking and coffee time. Cheers to you Luke ... cheers!
Hi Luke, I know you like to hike, but I love the rain, especially at night. I hope Susie and the kids are doing well. I miss having them along. Are you and Susie taking a trip this year? I hope so…. That’s always fun to go along with you two. Take care and God Bless you and the family. 💖🙏🙋🏻♀️
I love your exploits in the foggy rain! Because you brought your table and chair you say you are glamping?! Last night i watched ABCamping spend 2 nights under a ginormous blow up tent with his new pimped out truck. So when i heard you claim you are glamping i had to laugh! I consider your smart camp set up as elegant as it gets. I love it. Watched your episode during a thunderstorm out on my back deck in deep appreciation.
I must say the quality of your filming continues to improve, the editing is on point too and the image quality superb. Oh and love the sound of the rain and thunder, it's wonderful.
I like your take on being prepared and being adaptable. I'd like to add to it that if you can apply that to not only outdoor life but to life in general it helps to make life more enjoyable. Thanks for the content keep up the good work.
I'm 80 years old when I was younger I used to go camping with just a tarp and not much more. Some of the Greatest time of my life . Man I Miss those times .👍👍👍👍👍
I like to go out onto our covered patio, or our carport (preferred) and just watch the rain, drinking in the fresh scent of the rain. There is enough shelter on the carport to protect me from wind-driven rain. Because of health constraints, I cannot actually go camping as I would need to be in a cabin of some sort and now, I am on medications that prohibit me from being in the sun. I'm all right with that because I'm old (77) and I get so much satisfaction out of seeing good camping videos. Thanks for taking us with you, Luke and Susie.🥰🥰
I sooo agree with you on the rain thing. I have a tin roof over my porch and I love sitting out there and listening to the rain. I use a rain sounds app to sleep to as well
Good adventure this week. Glad your tent wasn't full of water, that's nice to see. I hope you get a lot of snow this winter unlike last winter and there will be some epic snow adventures! Those are some of my favorite adventures to ever watch of yours. S&H.
Thank you for sharing this adventure! I love this forest! It’s so pretty! Another great video, say hi to Susie, and take care! Looking forward to the next one!
I love your channel. It’s a real down-to-earth and homey vibe. I love your taste when it comes to coffee. I like mine with a little “kick” to it as well. Cheers!
Here's a laugh for you. My husband's relatives came over to Canada. They went out camping for 5 days. Just to see how roughing was like in the wilderness. When they came back to our house they told us they had lobster tails, tenderloin steaks, wine etc. They had a great time roughing it. Guess it'll be a good story when they return home 😂 Good video Luke. Thanks so much.
Get what you say about how the years go buy so quickly. I’m 56 and in my head I’m 40 something and still a very active outdoorsy guy , but my oldest daughter is 32 nearly . I got 5 other kids and younger one is 10 years old . Brother I been a dad a looooong time . Enjoy your videos, so keep up the great work
I haven't watched any camping videos in awhile cause i HATE summer camping, but now that its cooling off im catching up on all the vids, good to see your still going at it!
Man, I loved this episode! It was cool to see ya take down a bit this time, btw. I learn from everything you do! And those camera shots?! FANtastic! What a great movie! Always hate when the adventure is over. Thank you!!
Glad you relish being in the rain under tarps or cozy in your small tents. Fun to see and a vicarious camping trip. Great videos. Still loving your bumper music! Congratulations on your fitness efforts. Glad your foot is better! Hope you enjoyed FL. We lived in Central FL in a very active-minded Ages 55+ community for several years recently. Great wildlife and bird watching but no mountains (No Sasquatch either!).
Mother Nature RULES, adapt to her moods, otherwise you'll be miserable out in the boonies. Like the added groundsheet under your tent. Salmon is my FAVORITE source of protein, day in, day out. "TOGR idea of glamping"😆 My late husband had zero desire to camp with me because I sleep in a tent...on the ground lol. He once told me that his idea of roughing it was a Holiday Inn. Opposites really do attract lol
About 21 minutes in, the use of a tarp really shows people the value. Your tent is nearby, and the tarp is a perfect shaded area of relaxation for you. I do not think tarps are EVER a replacement for a tent. I just don't see that. But Lordy how valuable they CAN be for a whole lot other things. For instance, and this might not come instinctively to some viewers;-- but withOUT that tarp? You're gonna be IN that bivy when it rains. Mighty small area, easily bored, perhaps not ready to sleep, and truly inconvenienced by the rain...maybe for HOURS. But WITH that tarp? You have another area to sit in, protected from wind and rain, and now you are totally enjoying the moment. That is what makes bringing that tarp so worth it. Also, if the storm moving in.... is really gonna be tough? Build the tent UNDER the tarp. Always an option, rarely needed; but it is sometimes needed. Goes back to preparedness. Great points you made and you are King of the Woods, dude.
I'm a fan. Suggest a "best of" video or live stream where you discuss your favorite gear (tent, tarp, chairs. tables. stoves. pants, rain jackets, sleeping pads, bags, etc.) & why based on experiences to date.
HI LUKE 👋 HOPE YOU & SUSIE HAVE A GREAT SAFE TIME 🙏 PLENTY OF HUGS IN YOUR FUTURE HOLD ON TIGHT ❤ THE TENT ⛺ LOOKS NICE & LITE . WOULD HAVE TO GET USE TO IT BEING SMALL I THINK ? Camping in the rain is like a meditation... its so addictive and soul refreshing
We need Susie to do a women’s gear and clothing, coats, hats and hiking boots review for winter.

I really love these stormy and foggy adventures. I can almost smell the forest. Thanks for taking us along!
I really appreciate how he actually sits there and enjoys the outdoors. He doesn’t have to run around and hunt a wild boar for survival. He lets us take in the scenery and chill.

I love being out in the rain in a tent. Lovely to sleep as long as you can stay dry and warm.
Thank you, Luke, for that awesome camping video. I love the way the thunder and rain sounds.😊
This is what I like about watching your videos Is you just sit down and chat You know how to hold an audience by just talking all by yourself Good job.
there is nothing like the rumbling of thunder through the mountains when camping, puts you to sleep fast.
i love cooking simple things like hot dogs n burgers when i am camping. it nice to have easy meals like that so you don't have so much weight to carry in n out. plus i just enjoy keeping things simple camping as it gives me more time to appreciate the beauty of mother nature.

Jeesh Luke, that morning coffee looks strong enough to carry your backpack back down to your vehicle!
LOL, Brenda! Such a cute comment!
As long as you are safely hunkered down, and dry, kind of a cool camp out! Beautiful scenery. Sights. And some thunder in the background.
Thank you for another great video Luke ... oh yeah! I love all the sounds ...the rain, assembling your gear, walking and coffee time. Cheers to you Luke ... cheers!

Thank you Luke. Hit me up for a New Mexico adventure. Love y'all. God bless America. God bless the East coast woodlands. God bless your adventures 🙏
Oh so right, just sit and listen to the rain and wind and relax
He’s a 5ft 4” Rain Magnet…….What a Hero 🤫👏👏👏💦☔️⛈️
Yeah, I don't ever remember Western North Carolina being as stormy as it is for him. Seems as though there is a mega storm ever other day.
It's just so beautiful Luke💝
Luke this is so awesome, and always great ways of setting up shelters.. I love them all.. The rain is always relaxing..

I love how the rain sounds hitting the tarp and ⛺️ I listen to your videos with headphones on and the sound of the rain puts me to sleep
You and Susie have the best videos of outdoor camping. I wish you the best and keep baking good videos thank you so much

Rain camping is so soul 🌹 refreshing and good meditation.
Thank you for sharing this adventure! I love this forest! It’s so pretty! Another great video, say hi to Susie, and take care! Looking forward to the next one!
Loving this channel. We finally had some rain today. So a doubly fun watch.💕
I love camping in the rain. It is very relaxing just listening to it even if I have a camping van.
Been watching your videos for years! Amassed how you never forget anything! I always forget something! Thanks for the content 👍
I like your setup Luke, and the rain with the thunder.
I love your channel. It’s a real down-to-earth and homey vibe. I love your taste when it comes to coffee. I like mine with a little “kick” to it as well. Cheers!
Great rainy adventure! Thank you Mr Luke! ❤
My son and his wife LOVE Universal Studios Horror night. I hope yall have a blast.
Thank you Luke..❤❤❤
Love watching your videos...the worse weather the better...I would love to spend time in a tent to experience the storms
Agreed . Nothing like camping in the rain and thunder.
Here's a laugh for you. My husband's relatives came over to Canada. They went out camping for 5 days. Just to see how roughing was like in the wilderness. When they came back to our house they told us they had lobster tails, tenderloin steaks, wine etc. They had a great time roughing it. Guess it'll be a good story when they return home 😂
Good video Luke. Thanks so much.
This is therapeutic my man...💪
I like these better than your quiet videos. I like it when you just talk about stuff.
Something deep inside us enjoys hunkering down in the fog and rain. The forest is a door into another land, just ask Grizzly Adams.
Then I think about him having to trek all around moving his cameras and I lose the immersion lol
Very beautiful 😍👍
Get what you say about how the years go buy so quickly. I’m 56 and in my head I’m 40 something and still a very active outdoorsy guy , but my oldest daughter is 32 nearly . " i could drink mud and be happy" classic!
I haven't watched any camping videos in awhile cause i HATE summer camping, but now that its cooling off im catching up on all the vids, good to see your still going at it!
Boy, I hate summer, too! Bugs, snakes, mosquitoes, gnats, sweat-yuck!
Great video ,as always my friend.
Really relax and cool video 🍂🍁🌲👍
in '96 When Tropical Storm Bertha was moving up the east coast I was camping. I had my tarp so low to the ground it was a cave with an 18" opening.
I really enjoyed this video! You do excellent work with your videos and keep up the good work! Kind regards from Sweden.
Man, I loved this episode! It was cool to see ya take down a bit this time, btw. I learn from everything you do! And those camera shots?! FANtastic! What a great movie! Always hate when the adventure is over. Thank you!!
I think the end titles music is straight out of "BMX Bandits" and I'm here for it.
Like the added groundsheet under your tent.
Salmon is my FAVORITE source of protein, day in, day out.
That string of lights is definitely, "GLAMPING"
Answering 1,000 emails a week is commendable. I don't know how you do it.
Yes, I've started enjoying your other channel, A Quiet Place, videos.
Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada
Nice place, nice adventure!👍🏻
I would have placed the entrance from the tent under your dry tarp.
"TOGR idea of glamping"😆
My late husband had zero desire to camp with me because I sleep in a tent...on the ground lol. He once told me that his idea of roughing it was a Holiday Inn. Opposites really do attract lol

I'm 37 now and I have my daughter born just in 2019 I got married in 2019 thinking of this as Mr Luke said I started my life late.
Don't feel bad Luke my boy and girl are in their forties, ouch.😂
