Dear KTM Team, I ve been the ktm customer since 2022. I’m owner of 790 adventure s. This year I’m considering buying the 890 adventure r. I have just one or two issues that I’d like to get an answer for. Firstly: cold start unreliability. When the engine is cold it does not start at the first time. I’m forced to repeat the start procedure from 4 to 6 times until the engine is able to keep running. Until that time when I start engine it always stops. Statement of the reseller was that the problem is not possible to eliminate. Secondly: front brake fluid container leakage. The reseller gave me the same statement that the problem is not possible to eliminate. The last time told me that that is not the bug, that is the feature. I definitely consider it as a bug. Are these bugs still present at the new 2023 890 adventure r? Thanks
What are the costs/fees if you want to keep those features like the rally mode? If you pay for the bike, it should come complete without any other charges or fees to keep such features. In other words, anything included should be standard and be a feature on the bike as long as you own it!!!
I wonder if there's anything in this video that's going to counteract the last video I just watched of a KTM GT that cannot get its electrical issues sorted out and went into limp mode on camera in the video after 3 to 4 times being back at the dealer with less than 2,000 miles. Actually may have been kilometers, I think it was in the UK. As I am seriously considering pursuing a standard model 890 adventure this year the Yamaha tenare 700 is also on my mind
Would be good to see some of these changes making it on the Norden 901. Especially the screen and hopefully engine heat dissipation. The looks of this 890 make it an option now for me to the Norden.
2023 Norden 901 Expedition is getting the same suspension componentry (fully adjustable WP Xplor) and travel (240mm) as the KTM 890 Adventure R. So that's a nice change.
I tough the guy was going to help the old men load the trailer,not run in the other direction! Lol. Also, the ktm will take you anywhere you want to go, but will it bring you back? Maybe not! And you introduced the demo mode as a good thing? Like a new feature? Lol. My last ktm was my last ktm

I would like to know why all bikes are presented with an Akrapovic muffler? Is the custom pipe not good enough? Or is this. A higher HP source? Or is it just sound "upgrade"?
Dear KTM development team. I have a question about the TC control in Rally mode. With the 890 2023 it is possible to select level 0 with my 790 Adv R 19' and with my 1290 ADV R 22' this is not possible! it is very difficult to start in deep Sand. In addition, the TC jerkily pulls you down from the tipping point during a wheelie, but only after about 5 seconds. Both are tedious to dangerous. If you want to switch off the TC completely, it's annoying because you have to change the menu and repeat it after the engine stalls. Please make an Update where we can also use this ingenious 0-9 solution for the "old" Adventure.
KTM!!! Wootwoot all my bikes are KTM, love the bikes. Well one is a white KTM. I’ve purchased the 23 890 R, waiting on arrival, and sold my 19 790 R, epic bike!! The question, are the fastener locations the same under the headlight front? Will the current cyclops light bracket bolt up, same fastener locations? I’m sure everyone has guessed it by now, yes I have purchased nearly all the bolt on and swap out parts already. Two things remaining, which aux. lighting/bracket to go with and of course power commander. Haha right because the bike doesn’t need more power I know but the better it breathes the better it runs and longevity. Also I don’t believe that’s the windscreen that went to mass production? Or am I wrong? Thanks all & keep the rubber side down…
I love ktm and own/ride several of their older models, which have been quite reliable and stout, and very user friendly when it comes to servicing and fixing it yourself. Having read up on 790/890 engines on the forums and seen what failures have occurred at such low mileage and the added complexity of fixing it yourself is definitely a big minus in my book. Having to pay extra for features that already are on the bike but need activation is just downright greedy. I might be looking at other colors for my next bike as to not support this type of behavior from the manufacturers.
I actually like the bike and would consider it although I have not been an off road rider or adventure rider per se. I see this bike as an all arounder that you can get around town or it the highway. I have heard about issues with KTM but would check it out to see. There is a 790 adventure coming out that I would look at as well but I think this bike might offer more on it like brakes. What do other people think?
Kind regards from Germany. When I first saw the new KTM 890 Adventure 2023, I was totally convinced, that this will be my new Bike in 2023. To bad, you won't sell this bike in Germany. Tomorrow I will buy a new Triumph Tiger 900 Rally. I really don't understand that the bike won't be sold in Germany, but in the rest of europe it will. 🤔🤷♂️
@@gbner9991 I was at my local KTM dealer to preorder the maschine, and there I was told, that the new 890 Adventure won't be sold in Germany. Only the 790 Adventure and the 890 Adventure R. 🤷♂️
I really like the TFT display. If the KTM installs TFT display on duke250 i will really appreciate not only me but even the other KTM lovers from India. Even if the TFT is not exactly like the duke390, because TFT displays give a smart look on the bike. I'm waiting for that day to come 😅
I’ve had a 790 adventure since 2019. It’s one of several bikes I have so it only has 15,000 trouble free miles. I’ve upgraded it some and have no desire to lose my ass on a trade in to the newer one. What I would like to know is if the new 2023 body works that gets rid of that hideous praying mantis look can be fitted on to the pre-23 790/890 models.
Hi i am from India. I have waited 2 years for the 890 to launch but was disappointed to know that the 890 wouldn't launch before 2024 so finally settled for a Triumph Tiger Rally Pro 900. You guy are losing customer in Indian market.
I hope KTM address the warping front rotors on 2021 model years. I am owner. At 8K miles dealer declared my rotors warped but would not cover it under warranty.
Demo mode results in fewer people to pay for the features (higher cost per purchaser if you're looking to cover the expense / profit) or it's cost is baked into the base price and this is just extra profit to tap all the performance the moto is capable of providing.
Ur customer care needs a remapping in West Bengal, India. I want the 890 but the service here is really poor after sales . I love the machine , no doubt but that’s not enough.
The one criticism I have is their praise for the windscreen. I’ve seen so many ‘23 890 screens now with the Puig mini screen added to the top (myself included). The forehead buffeting is terrible without this ! Did they actually test this at tarmac speeds or did they use a height challenged rider to do the testing? Ride it at speed and this will be the 1st thing you will notice !

They have missed the point straight away! He should have got off his bike and helped the old man to load the firewood on the trailer, interacted with him and had a laugh or two .He could have took a photo or shared a drink if available!!! The language barrier may or may not exist, but the human barrier can be explored.
The Ala-Carte features you have to purchase seperatly or as a "tech package" is a joke. If the bike has the features already then just include them in the purchase price. It's just a way for KTM to make some more $$$$. No thanks! I will be looking at a BMW GS.
Why haven’t ktm addressed the camshafts failure issue on the 790/890 platform? So many cases and yet we’ve all been ignored by ktm!! I’m about to leave ktm forever. This problem should have been resolved over a year ago. If only ktm would do some r&d so solve issues and improve existing products so owners could trust their bikes and the ktm brand m, instead of always bringing out new untested products.
Awful idea to charge additionally for stuff that's already on the bike! Disgusting! It's deal breaker for me. It's like when you go to the restaurant and see one kind of prices on the menu, but then when you ask for the check there are additional expenses like tax, tip, utensils, etc.
Ktm, we are waiting for the justice for 390 , why no adventure rally with proper suspension, wheels?? 😭 I have always loved ktm and I am inspired by it's stories in The dakar, but you are really disappointing Indian Audience where you can dominate the market in light weight adv.
The upcoming 690 twin will be made in China - well it can stay in China. You have enough reliability issues now - getting China to make them will only increase reliability issues. Thumbs down KTM.

Had a look at one at my local dealer, when they mentioned the money KTM want to grab after 1500kms. Went elsewhere, perhaps when the company is not run by money grabbing Bean counters I will be back. Thumbs down from me
I Have a KTM 1290 Superadventure S 2021 plus a KTM 390 Adventure managed by ktm race. I Love all motorbike, but they must be ktm. Yeah the 890 don't like it so much. Don't know why its the feeling. The same of the 790 that I had little better for the void at low rpm. Keep in mind that Im coming from the mythical 950, 990, and so on. Its a compromise.

Try checking out the cranking power - CCA - of the battery. Get a really strong one - should fix the cold starting problem. (fingers crossed)
Ive read running lower octane gas eliminates cold start issues.
Guys bring this to India soon....current KTM 390 adv owner.

not a fan of the demo mode and the "milk the customer" approach. Is the bracket for the GPS an optional?!?!?! seriously?

The 890 should come with all the software enabled all of the time. It's nothing more than getting money out of customers.

LoL. He means they should just make the bike complete from factory. An extra 500 euro on the base price is fine if its justified.

Can't get the connectivity unit in Canada until at least August '23...
