I was a huge fan of Betty Driver she was a brilliant actress who worked hard all of her life. Thanks for all of the info Alan. Very interesting. Betty Turpin was a wonderful character. This is very nostalgic, there’s only one Betty Driver.
Hello Joan she seemed a very level-headed woman from the interviews I've seen and I only once had personal contact with them. I asked for a signed photograph for a website I was constructing and she sent it along with a little letter. Thank you for the comments. Regards, Alan
Hi Alan hope your well Betty did seem to be just one of those lovely old fashioned lady that respected people and cared for anyone down to earth too. RIP SWEETHEART BETTY xxxx 💕💕💕
Hello Karen, I was asked her for a signed out to go for a website and she was very nice and sent it immediately. I heard she was a lovely lady in real life. Very down to earth. Thank you for your great coming. It was kind of you.
Betty aways came across to me as a very nice person, no wonder she was so liked by so many. Pity we have nowhere to visit. I wonder where she was laid to rest. R.I.P Betty.
There was more to Betty than hotpot! I often got asked if I was related to her as my maiden name is Driver, but sadly not. You got some great views of St Annes Square in this. It was always fancy. Glad to see it's still well kept.😊❤
Loved Betty brilliant actress my auntie was at school with her I remember her telling me when I was young. Very interesting story thanks again for sharing love from Gill Holmfirth West Yorkshire ❤️
Great video to a legend of the street. Nice story about Beryl Fornby which was interesting. Shame she didn’t have an actual burial site but you have to respect the family’s wishes for wanting a private location. Thanks, Alan , for making another great video ❤
Hello John, George seemed a nice guy. It was just his wife she seemed to wear the trousers for sure. Strangely enough, a couple of days ago somebody has told me the burial spot which I thought wasn't the case. But I am a time of checking out yet sounded genuine. I'll let you know. Alan
Hi Alan wasn’t sure weather I’d seen this before or not but I hadn’t a really lovely place lovely lady it’s hard to believe that she’s not in it anymore good video thanks Alan ❤️😊👍🏻
Hello Crystal, it was the church where they had ceremony for Betty and all the Carnation Street stars turned up. It was pandemonium but the actual location was kept a secret 👍
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep thanks Alan I had tough last night thought of you as I was watching qvc and this woman had bright red lipstick on it was so bright I could see why you weren’t so keen ❤️😊

1940 Betty was appearing at Coventry theatre , on the night of the coventry blitz she hid deep down in the theatre vaults with a young girl whose family was also appearing there, the girl was julie Andrews.
My mum knew her very well .Betty was a land girl she worked on a farm with my mums brother . There used to go and see her at the odeon threatre in Horsham.
I thought she was a lovely singer and an excellent actress. Loved listening to her interview I must admit. Such an interesting life. Thank you Betty, you left many of us the better for knowing you.
Never forget Betty's hot pot..she was the mother of corrie! A woman with many talents who didn't get the appreciation she deserved but she took it on the chin and became her own star

I haven't watched Coronation St for years, just not the same without the older cast members like Betty. She was good and could be humorous too.
