First, iPhone unavailable time duration in iPhone with iOS 16.4 or later version.
After 4 consecutive wrong passcode attempts, iPhone unavailable will last 1 minute.
After 5 consecutive wrong passcode attempts, iPhone unavailable will last 5 minutes.
After 6 consecutive wrong passcode attempts, iPhone unavailable will last 15 minutes.
After 7 consecutive wrong passcode attempts, iPhone will stay unavailable for 1 hour.
After 8 consecutive wrong passcode attempts, iPhone will be unavailable for 3 hours.
After 9 consecutive wrong passcode attempts, iPhone will be unavailable for 8 hours.
On the 10th wrong attempt, your iPhone will be unavailable permanently, with no timer showing on the screen.
Second, iPhone unavailable time duration in iPhone running from iOS 15.2 to iOS 16.3.
By entering the incorrect passcode 5 times in a row, your iPhone will say unavailable try again in 1 minute. It means it’ll take one minute to go away iPhone unavailable lock message.
For the 6th incorrect passcode entry, it’ll take 5 minutes to go away iPhone unavailable screen.
For the 7th incorrect passcode entry, it’ll take 15 minutes.
For the 8th incorrect passcode entry, it’ll take 1 hour.
For the 9th incorrect passcode entry, iPhone will stay unavailable for 1 hour again.
For 10th incorrect passcode entries, iPhone will be permanently locked and unavailable.

how long does it take? I remembered by passcode.
My 1 year locked me out for 1 hour and the phone was not counting down. I then connected it to my computer no luck although it may have triggered something still nothing happened so I disconnected it but also noticed battery was at 32% so I connected to my charger and it’s now counting down. This may or may not help anyone but I thought I’d share my experience.

Do you remember your iCloud account and password? You can log in iCloud through a browser and then use Find My iPhone to erase your phone remotely.
