Gravik gets energised around both Talos and Fury - I think because these two are actually important to him and it's a measure of showing off/proving himself that is still an almost involuntary reaction to his 'father' figures. And the way Talos says "You got it" after his 'keep my daughter's name out your mouth' speech was just a little magical for a fellow Aussie - we really don't hear our accent much in entertainment (despite the fact the gumleaf brigade has been infiltrating for decades now 😉), and I've been super stoked watching Mendelsohn's work in this (after practically my whole life of him on my screen), and it's weirdly satisfying that he just sounds like himself.
You said in the last video that Fury didn't show any emotion to losing Hill. Did you forget how the episode started? He was holding her as she died, and then kept calling her name, trying to get her to stay alive. Talos had to roughly man handle him just to leave her behind and get in the van for his own safety. I think after that, he went into soldier mode where he compartmentalized things in order to get the job done....Like Zoe in Serenity after you know what... Hill dying, losing his job and finding out your wife is working with the skrull terrorist. Yes. I think that's when it just overwhelmed him and it took him a minute to recompose himself. He wasn't being upset just about the job. And Nick Fury is THE SPY, so I doubt we're gonna get him snot nose ugly crying over a situation that he'd rather seek revenge on. Idk...maybe you were projecting a little there.
I love how Talos and Fury's relationship is basically old friends with a bond forged by time and experiences together but it's chaotic as well like they've known each other for TOO long lol
As for why Gravik is so animated during that scene with Talos, he seems to get really fired up when talking about the war. The first time he shows any real emotion is in the second episode when he shouts that he “thinks it’s a WAR!!” in front of the council. I think it’s a really interesting character quirk for him. So calm and nonchalant and then he starts talking about war and soldiers and suddenly gets all manic and excitable.

I think Samuel L Jackson and Charlayne Woodard's first movies together were Unbreakable and Glass? She went from playing his Mom to playing his Wife. I knew I recognized her voice more than anything, she has a very distinct way of speaking. XD Granted she was in older makeup in Unbreakable/Glass. They definitely have great chemistry so far. Also, should check out Guardians 3 if you haven't already. I must have cried 3 times watching it. Can only imagine the emotional rollecoaster that you'll go through. At the switcheroo, I wonder whether G'iah may have had a confederate assist her because the old man is seen a bit further behind her yapping into his phone to convince Gravik she hasn't moved from the car. Either that or she selected the old man's form because he was having a lengthy conversation and could unknowingly sell her subterfuge just by remaining where he was yapping away. The Skrull impersonating Fairbank should not have been concerned with Zachary's safety when Fury was threatening him if Zachary were human. Makes me think the kid was a Skrull, too, otherwise holding him hostage should not have worked. When Fairbank was executed, Talos shot him in his lower right quadrant which would not have been an instant killshot for a human but was apparently lethal to the Skrull. Since Gravik shot G'iah in her upper left quadrant where a human heart would be, she may still be alive as the Skrull-equivalent of a heart may not be located there! Gravik's glowing hand was able to heal itself after being impaled because the Daltons have infused the Extremis virus into his genome! He's a Super-Skrull now! This series may be where they introduce the Thunderbolts because the Super-Skrulls are going to need opponents who can match them like USAgent, Red Guardian, Ghost, Yelena Belova, Abomination and so forth! If they're run by the MCU Valentina and Feige follows the comics, then Val might be positioned to take the Gravik killshot just like Norman Osborn did in the comics! In a bitter twist, Val becomes the savior of Earth and Fury is disgraced as the man who made the planet vulnerable to alien conquest! That would be a wonderfully dark conclusion.
On the being concerned for Zachary front - I think it's actually supposed to be a sign of how long that Skrull has been undercover. Living with those memories and feelings from the 'shell' (and at this level of infiltration, I'd assume there's no reverting back, just committing to the mission), it's likely an unconscious reaction to feel protective of the kid. Fury would understand some of how that permanent undercover work affects his own people, so I reckon he figured the kid was a good bargaining chip - and he was right.

Glad you're feeling better and great reaction as usual. So, speaking of this show, I hate to say it cause it's...boring. The last episode picked up with some really good drama, the Don Cheadle scene, the train scene, those were great and I was anticipating it building up to something. But yeah, it's just disappointing. There's virtually zero tension, there's no one to root for, there's nothing really gripping about the plot - it's sort of contrived, other than Samuel L Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn, the acting is mediocre, the Gravik character is kind of disappointing..., they try to make it interesting with 'shocking' moments, Hill getting shot and at the end of this one...but it's just a band aid solution. Here's something interesting: I dont know if these comments get back to you in any way, but do you want to react to a movie which will get you AT LEAST 30k views in less than 24hrs? That movie is RRR. An Indian (Tollywood - not bollywood) movie. One of the greatest action movies in the last 5 years, maybe 10 years. It sounds like im exaggerating, I get it. But if you dont believe me, feel free to go on youtube and check out other reaction channels and their numbers (dont spoil yourself of course). Reaction channels with 2k subs getting 50k views in days. Indians love it when foreigners react to their movies and that's where most of the views are coming from. The movie itself is nothing short of breath taking, exhilarating. If you decide to take this suggestion (hope you do) remember to react to it in - Hindi with English subtitles. The original language is "Telugu" but that's not available in the west. You're just going to have to trust me on this - and I know, you're thinking: Is reacting to a 3 hr movie, all the editing...etc, worth it?
