Hey guys! Today I speak to you all about my childhood tale of not being able to see anything, as well as show you guys my trendy new glasses I've gotten from deciding to jump back on the bandwagon.
I hope you guys have all been doing well. I've been enjoying my summer break, if you guys have time off I hope you've been doing the same. Hopefully (fingers crossed) I'll be back to some sort of UA-cam schedule soon. Thank you for supporting me and being so patient.
Oh also: I know I am not actually legally blind, but I do have very bad eyesight 😬

I think you’re just -2 or -3 the most judging by the refraction when you wear the glasses. You can sooooo see faces and actually read without them. I am nearly -6 with severe astigmatism and I can function without glasses. Blind is really overexaggerating.
I'm -4.75! And yes, I know I was just using hyperbole lol

You really did a very nice review for your Firmoo glasses. It was easy to tell that you are sold on them and their glasses. To be completely honest with of the 2 that you got i like the clear plastic pair much better on you. The first pair of gold metal frames is really a bit too big for your face. You really never want your eyebrows blocked or hidden by the top of your frame. Also they seem to be very close to touching your lower cheeks.You don't want that because they can actually leave marks on your cheeks. The clear plastic ones are a bit smaller and don't block your eyebrows. They fit you very well in fact. Also i'm sure you have to like that you got them with the AR coating which i;m sure your eyes enjoy having.
I'm a retired optician and I really enjoyed hearing how you came to getting your first pair of glasses. Sadly how you found out is often how many others discover they need glasses. At the time you had no idea you really needed glasses because you had nothing to compare with how you should have been seeing things. You probably just assumed that was the way everyone saw things. You had to very surprised when you got your glasses and put them on for the very first time. I don't know if you know this or nit but you probably have your dad to thank for your less than perfect eyesight. You no doubt got his genes for your eyes. No surprise that you wanted contacts when you were in seventh grade. That is also about the time a young girl also starts to take an interest in boys. So now you were competition with all those girls that didn't wear glasses. So you wanted to be on an even playing field of course. But as a former optician I am glad that you are now not strictly living in contacts because that really isn't good for your eyes. And you're right wearing glasses has become very popular now for many young ladies. They are almost a must have as a fashion accessory even if you don't need glasses. Last thing I get it when you say that you're "legally blind" because i'm sure without either your glasses or contacts you can't see very well but it is easy to tell by seeing your glasses that your nearsighted but nowhere near as bad as you think you are. "legally blind" means not being able to correct your eyesight even with glasses.

I had the oval, small wired glasses as well back in 2006. I recently rediscovered them and they are soo ugly. Then for some reason I didn't need the glasses anymore until recently. So now I am back in the game with a kinda similar style, that you are wearing.

biggest pet peeve: when people say they're legally blind "without my glasses." That's not legally blind. Legally blind is 20/200 or worse with BEST POSSIBLE CORRECTION. stop throwing the term around.
Jessica Walton At the time I made this video I didn’t really know what the term meant technically, but I do have horrendous eye sight (I can’t see anything but blobs without my contacts unless things are about 3 inches from my face) but you’re right, I’m not legally blind. Sorry for the confusion!

You people need to chill the hell out in these comments. I wear a strong prescription and I’ve been called “legally blind” by eye doctors as well. It’s really not that deep.
I was about to point out that you shouldn't use the term "legally blind" but I see that "Squints" called you out on it already and that you did in fact but in a disclaimer that you know you're not really legally blind. So enough on that.
I'm a retired optician and I can see by looking at your glasses that you have a rather strong prescription for sure. So i'm sure without either your glasses or contacts you do feel like your blind. What surprised me which i guess it shouldn't because i saw a number of others that did the same as you did apparently. Did you go for years with only having contacts to wear? I can't tell you how bad that was. Even at 13 or so i'm sure by then you needed full time correction. If you had any kind of problem with your contacts you wouldn't have been able to see. It doesn't take much to get an eye infection and you would have had to be without contacts for several weeks at least. You know even getting glasses at a local store takes up to a week. You really needed to have glasses as a backup for your contacts the day you started wearing contacts.
I think it's great that wearing glasses has become so popular with so many young girls. Like you say so much so that girls with perfect vision want glasses so bad that they are buying fake glasses just for the look. Glasses have really become a fashion must have. So i'm glad that you decided to join the bandwagon and start wearing glasses as an option to contacts so much. I think you know that contacts really aren't all that good for your eyes. You clearly have been abusing them for years until you finally got a pair of glasses. Youshouldn't wear contacts more than 12 hours a day and that's even pushing it. And you should give your eyes a break from contacts by not wearing them for 2 full days each week. We both know you weren't doing that. Have you ever wondered why you have to go every year for an eye exam when you wear contacts? Yes in part it's to see if you need an increase in yur contacts but that's not the main reason because they don't care if your contacts are too weak for your eyes. But they do care about the health of your eyes. You're getting your eyes examined to see how much damage wearing contacts has done to your eyes. If it gets too bad they will restrict you as to how long you will be allowed to wear your contacts. if you ignore them they will see it in your eyes and they will then refuse to allow you to get contacts again. They really can do that.
Anyway the glasses you got from Frimoo look great on you and I bet since you started wearing glasses again you have gotten plenty of complements on how good you look wearing glasses. (And you do)
