You're amazing. Your uploads are the reason I choose an MPC ONE over the Maschine and Ableton Push 2. I appreciate you sharing your workflow and howto skills. Take Care
Thanks man, and while technically you would do this for every chop, you can just copy/paste the midi notes from your main loop program to your bass program since they are the identical chops.
@@SymphonicBeats hey thank you for replying. I have another question in regard to this same topic. So I have a sample and I copied and pasted to another track (with a bass sample program for low filter) but the low end of the sample is clashing with the kick drum I’m using. Do you know how to stop that? I’m working off of the MPC live 2
@@BDAILEY702 No problem man, you’ll want to use the mother ducker compressor input on the kick and the mother ducker compressor on the bass, just make sure it’s on the same bus number and then the bass will duck under each kick hit. You’ll likely want to adjust the compression settings further to get the correct amount of compression. There are some good videos on the plugin on UA-cam as well.
Just came across this video. Awesome job. Loved how you incorporated the dialogue from the movie. Quick question: On track one, did you apply a high pass filter to going along with track two, where you applied a low pass filter? Thank you.
Might sound like a dumb question but what did you do to learn this machine so thorough? I’m watching videos like yours, read the manual, Akai website. There’s so many gems to figure out. Great job! Please help. Thx.
Not dumb at all! Honestly the workflow itself feels a lot like the MPC 1000 with added features; so that helps. I also used the MPC Beats software for several months before buying the MPC ONE. All in all though, I’d say just jump in, get your hands dirty and try adding or using a new element every time and before you know it, you’ll have touched on every aspect of the device.
Thanks man.. I basically have a Focusrite USB audio interface that my turntable mixer and MPC run into. The Focusrite outputs to a pair of Yamaha HS5s. Nothing too crazy but it gets the job done!
My man, can you mix and master all song in here without daw after? I mean are you satisfiyed with it, can compress, eq, limit etc with mpcs processing tools ? Thank you for answer infront, it helps me order it in really near future 💪
Hey man, I use some of the effects in the MPC (none on the master track) and track out the stems to finish the mix in a DAW, but these new MPCs definitely have all the tools needed to mix and master your project.
Hey man I love your channel your one of the main reasons why I’m deciding to get one of these, how long would you think it’ll take me to start getting my head around this machine for someone who hasn’t had any experience with an mpc? (I have intermediate experience with FL Studio) it just seems like you need to know quite a bit about the machine before you can start getting steady workflow
Hey man, happy to hear that 🙌 - Honestly you can wrap your head around the basics within a day or two, especially following one of the many “masterclass” style breakdowns on UA-cam for the ONE. Most important thing is to enjoy the process and if it gets frustrating take a little time off. Congrats on the purchase 👊👊
This is great. Can you please explain how you managed to apply the filtered version to the whole track 2 without it effecting the same samples in track 1. I'm new to the MPC one. I used to do something similar on the MPC 2000XL by copying each pad, making a low pass filtered version to bring out the bass and then assigning the two pads to play together. really interested to understand better how you can do that with a whole track! Thanks
It’s a similar concept, but you’ll want to duplicate the sample, then apply that sample to a new track. If you check back a few videos, I have one titled “How to Layer Samples” that goes a bit more in depth on my process. Hope it helps!
@@SymphonicBeats Thanks I watched the older video (if it's the one where you add the Genius vocals) but couldn't see the technique you used here. I'm still struggling to understand it. You seem to copy the track to a new track then apply a low pass. What I can't see is how you apply the low pass at once to all the sample chops in the track and then how you then assign the new low pass chops to the normal chops so that one triggers the other. I know how to do this for a single pad but struggling to do it with several pads/cops used in a whole track. You also appear to creating a new program at some point just after 1 minute. Not sure why. Apologies if I'm being dumb. This is just a technique I've been looking for on this machine so want to understand it properly. Thanks
@@peterlittlefair2484 No worries man, definitely not dumb at all! I suggest watching that video again for reference, and when you see me on the sample edit screen, I click on a little icon at the top (sorry, not by the MPC right now) which allows you to edit multiple or all pads in a program at once. From there, I just had one sequence triggering the normal chops, and my second sequence triggering the filtered chops, the same way you would do with the old machines.
@@SymphonicBeats Thanks. So the pads in one sequence aren't triggering the pads in the other (assigning more than one sound to each pad) it's just two sequences playing the same sounds at the same time, but one set is a low pass version?
Just a question please.. when you want use fx filter for example on the sample for make a variation ..it s necessary to make events sequence after dupplicate program sample. Excuse my english
@@salix5380 No worries! Sorry if I didn’t understand correctly, but yeah you would want to copy events from one track/sample over to the new one, In order to keep everything lined up.
Yes sir! I’d only suggest this method if you already like the bass you’re hearing from the sample. If not, it’s better to just clean up the low end and add your own baseline.
