This is the acoustic version recorded many years after the original. Burch loves this version because Billy's voice has gotten even better with age like a fine wine. @BillyOceanTV

One of the most under rated voice of the 80s. So smooth
Memories brought back. Instantly! Sounds great still.
Instantly? don't you mean....Suddenly??
Totally agree Burch, Flabbergasted, it sounds even better than the original
Wow I’ve heard this song but never heard it live. That was incredible
He is SOOOOOOOOOOOO good! Man, how impressive! Loved him when i was a kid and love him even more now!
Can’t help but think he played one of the crewmen in Pirates of the Caribbean, never heard a live version back in the day but was very good.
Wow! How did he get even better?😱
I saw him in 2018 and he was INCREDIBLE!
GREAT reaction!! Wow...I've never heard this version - so it was a first time listen for me too! Man has he kept his voice!
I've loved this song since it came out (I was 7) - his vocal tone & emotion was superb (and still is!) I have his Suddenly album, and it still gets spun every so often - I might just have to put it on tonight!! You should do Caribbean Queen from this same album! Cheers.
this was on an australian show called the morning show
He sounds great still.
I'm so impressed with this performance... 👌
That was so Good
Birch I was just out of high school when this hit the airwaves,I had this album and wow this was incredible reaction guys and it was soooo good and the phase you were looking for is his voice now is like a warm blanket wrapped around you. Also back then of the days of such good music, I remember listening to Earl Klugh as well, wow his voice has just gotten better with time and that's Rare.
Then suddenly, last summer, oops that's a The Motel song. Billy has a nice voice.
Alexis, you said it, wow is right. Such a beautiful song❤
I just read an article from the local news here in the middle of Wyoming, that our roller-skating ring that opened in 1920, have new owners that have invested into it and it is still open and apparently really popular on the weekends. We plan on taking our granddaughter there pretty soon.
What’s up from Memphis ✌️😎Just want to say that we love the channel!!
Whats up from Central FL :) Try to join us tonight for our live show at 7pm EST.
He's better than ever unreal wow
Billy Ocean was born in 1950, so he would have been 59 at the time this was recorded. This was after being out of the music business for 16 years.
The album, and this song particularly was the beginning of his rise over then next 5 years. Suddenly, Love Zone, and Tear Down These Walls were all exceptional albums. Suddenly has to be one of his best songs, however. It's simply divine.
Wow!!! He sounds awesome!!! I agree with you Burch, he actually sound better, how is that possible? I think I'm the same age as Burch and this song was definitely played at all the school dances. Thank you for trip down memory lane.
May the 4th be With You!!!
The ocean has many waves, and Billy Ocean has many faces. You need the Full Ocean Experience, and on the other side of the spectrum is his heavily produced, late '80s bombastic pop smash "Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car," along with the mellower mid-80s "Caribbean Queen," which is somewhere in between. These are arguably the Essential Billy and would make for a great discussion and comparison.
Lover boy by billyocean is my favorite❤❤❤❤
I prefer his voice now! I love the hint of rasp he now has.
😮
Gob-smacked
I think you were looking for "gobsmacked". And as far as I know, it's not a euphemism for something dirty...yet...the day is young!
In 2009 Billy Ocean (birth name Leslie Sebastian Charles) would have been 59.
Steve Winwood Does a great Acoustic Version of BLIND FAITH'S - "Can't find my way Home"
Definitely one Worth checking out.
🔥🔥🔥👍🏼
Have you reacted to Colin Raye, The 11th commandment. Very powerful meaning behind the the song. Needs shared.
Worked at the Record Bar when Carribean Queen came out.
Justin Bieber and music is an oxymoron
Ever done any Zeppelin?
I looked...didn't see.
Hiiii everybody!!!
great song...
Caribbean mon.
Gotta check out shotgun messiah’s
His voice hasn't lost a thing! Sounds amazing!! I do however miss the piano. Not really a guitar song in my opinion.
Ok Burch, now time to show Alexis Caribbean Queen and that powerful voice of Billy's.
AHHhhhhh... "Suddenly" by Billy Ocean. Firstly, THANK YOU for doin' THIS PARTICULAR TRACK!!!! I know, I know... I'm a ROCK/TRASH/DEATH METALHEAD almost ALL THE TIME... BUT... I got a SOFT-SIDE too!!!! LOL!!!! Like most musicians, I got into Ol' School R-N-B (hence the '80 - '90 VIBES of musical influences) that I had the LUXURY & PLEASURE of being exposed to (I'm play multiple instruments, sing in the tenor range, compose music, & produce my own music)... so, I'm quite knowledgeable in many genres of music. Check out Billy Ocean's catalog of songs & hits from THIS ERA (1980's - 1990's). He was QUITE successful in that time!!! Man, it's been a LONG TIME since I've had the PLEASURE of listening to HIS MUSIC (AND... ACOUSTIC PLAYING on the GUITAR??? TRULY LEGENDARY & PURE!!!!). You HIT IT RIGHT ON THE HEAD, I TOO can listen to him play at a coffee/bar & be JUST as AMAZED today, as I did when I first heard of him in the 1980!!!! A TRUE TALENT & WONDEROUS Vocalist. MIC DROP 🎤.
