The fact her thighs are perfect triangles but her legs are straight lines is ridiculous
Why does my brain just go to the "men only want one thing" meme? Except in this case nobody wants nothing more than to laugh at it?
SAMEEEEE i couldn't help but laugh
LMAO, Ik, why the dev gotta do dat
I like how she says her father would be mad if he saw her using a chainsaw but she knows how to load and pump a shotgun
Also she's at least 23.
I still don't know why not use chainsaw in case not find a shotgun btw are you brave enough shot enemy or saw them? For me I can't realistic that terrified blood spilling everywhere can PTSD me for long term

Uh, okay.
It really is very shlocky ain't it, they send you to a house where CPS has been calledz, only to later say that... nobody was there? Then why was she sent!?
@@spiritravenheart1335r Bob says in one of his lines that he might have been the one to call them
Seriously! No house ownership records to tell you who owns the house? They didn't find her clothes or tongue, either, is that not suspicious? Her new clean white dress? She must've had other belongings before entering the house, did they find them? Phones have geolocation these days so by all means they should have a last known location with time attached, what happened to that? If she was teleported out of the house, she still had all the items she found on her - where did the keys come from? The candle? The shotgun? She shot that gun and it'll reflect that, but there aren't any (new) bullet holes in the building, how did they explain that? Did the police even ask the neighbors if they heard anything? If they saw her leave the house? If there were any cameras nearby? Her car stayed right there the whole time so obviously she couldn't have gone far if she left, neighbors would've seen her on foot. She literally walked in blood, even right before leaving, is there no DNA evidence of that on her or any of the found items? There's literally so much evidence completely missed here and it (clearly) bothers me;;
dumbest writing I've seen in any games manly has played.
@@fruitymcfruitcake9674 seriously. I'm pretty sure the cops didn't actually even check the house, because "oh this lady is obviously crazy why even bother."
Alesas jiggle physics keep taking me out of the horror.
Jiggle physics are the true jump scare!

I find it funny that the jiggle has more animation frames than walking
Yeah she dummy thic
I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed how thick Alesa is 🤦🏿♂️ pixel thick is now a new thing

Jack at the end: "Sucks about your tongue getting cut out and all but what can you do"
He did warn her.
That's a humanoid thing to do xd of I were to warn you not to climb and tree bc you fall, and then you climbed a tree and fell and got injured, I wouldn't be so sympatethic ( idk how to write this ) towards you, nor would you be the other way around xd
@@gizimizi1144"humanioid", do you mean humanity? Humanoid just means a creature that has a human appearance in terms of walking upright. It's not really got anything to do with our social behavior. And I'd say falling out of a tree is a poor comparison lol but hey, Jack did warn her.

So extremely dumb. Even if they don't like it, it's better to show up with one than need to call one later.
The funniest part to me is the police literally didn't have to come with her lmao, they can simply wait outside or just down the damn street if something does happen
Horror game logic I guess
@@-DEATH_LORD Literally what I was thinking.
That's a horror game protagonist for ya.
Couldn't they even send an undercover fed?
so what I'm hearing is, there's really only one ending where Alesa truly gets everything she ever wanted... I mean, I personally would think it's a horrible way to go, but if being a lamp is really what turns her on (and off), I'm not one to normally judge.

Middle of the road driver and a social worker going to a new house with no police backup? Folks we have a classic stupid protagonist on our hands.
to be fair, as a social worker you couldn't take police with you everytime, rigth? Cause if it is a false alarm then you're wasting police force, and as she said the family might get alarmed and tiptoe around them
@EveTheRaviolo Still doesn't make sense. Why not bring at least *one officer*? Using one police officer isn't using the entire force or their resources.
Though you are correct, they do not always pop up but the fact in this game at the beginning it was very clear people kept *recommending* police officers, to THIS specific house must be for a good ass reason.
@deathlord3991 social workers make house calls most of the day, every day. It's not practical or a good use of resources to bring a police officer with you to every home visit (leep in mind, the locak department of social services has many soical workers on staff, not just one). And like the protagonist mentioned, it makes building a working relationship with the family harder to make it seem like you're afraid of them. Source: I am a social worker
@ariamcclellan6811 I never said anything about bringing an officer to every visit. I just mentioned how it was dumb to ignore clear warnings from people about a specific house. Though, knowledge is power, so thank you for the boost of knowledge 👍
@@EveTheRavioloa social worker doesn't have a gun to protect themselves from a potential threat.
It's funny how her sprite is twice the size of everything else. It makes a nice change from the usual giant horror-game room syndrome where everyone has a gigantic house.
As for the... rest of her design, well, the dev knew what they liked and were surprisingly unapologetic about it... I wasn't sure where the body horror began and ended considering her tiny nubs of legs.
that disappeared during one of the 2 sprite walking animation.
Yeah, they spent too much time in the jiggle physics, cakes and showers and not too much on walking feet

It sucks that Greta offs you regardless, I wanted her to live with Alesa but maybe she wasn't a real human.
Or that she’s too mentally unstable to keep the “naughty Greta” at bay…😔
I assume that she is a real human, just warped by Mr. Bob. Also would love an ending where she doesn't snap, like one mentioning her receiving therapy or something.
I believe that even if Greta were to receive Therapy to maybe keep her "naughty Greta" at bay, it wouldn't really help. Since, she does seem human but warped into the twisted image of Mr Bob, which could be guessed that he assured that she would never be able to keep her alter self under control.
It's really sad that there couldn't be another ending where Alesa and Greta could fight alongside to defeat Bob or maybe find a way to reset Greta's form to her more human one.
@@NeoRena I am actually glad there is no such "happy ending" cause it's such annoying cliche and only would exist as pandering for people with "omg goth lesbo romance, I am shipping it" needs. Just because she is less bad than the rest of family doesn't mean she is not monster, good riddance.

"Mr bob" FEELS like something you'd create as a joke in like fallout or skyrim
One of these days I'd like to see a game like this with the plot twist being what appeared to be the antagonist was actually being very genuine and just wanted to hang out with the protagonist.
Yeah! but because of their insanity and being a monster/demon they don’t know how to make friends, so they thought everything that happened was morally acceptable!
I think one of the games by the badonkadonk dev had that premise. At least one
or have a game thats like this were the house people are evil, but mr bob isnt part of the house it was a friendly but scary looking ghost that was genuinely being friendly and comes to help the protagonist so you start seeing mr bob show up ocasionaly to lend a hand.
Therapy with dr Albert Krueger has a good end with the protag and antag being friends at the end. (But the antag wasn’t secretly good)
@@zillycat8534 To be fair that's kind of the concept behind HP Lovecraft's ancient entities. This has some strong 80's B horror movie vibes to me, especially when it has the unexpected "fanservice". Doesn't add much, doesn't lessen the experience either. What is strong here is some downright weird body horror and brutality along with it. This was good, I really didn't expect the game to just continue after you lost your tongue.

How is someone able to meet Mr. Bob and not want to have the police beside them at all costs?
Idk id smash
A horror game protagonist
Well, it made sense for her being a child to think she hallucinated it when she clearly lived and noone believed her. Then she associated it with not being real as nightmares
As an adult, she should have known better later, expressing really poor judgement in not bringing the police at all at the start. It doesn't matter if families don't like them being there typically, if something on-site happens, having to then call them delays aid.
She isn't a child
@@f3turm3ntedp1um You clearly didn't pay attention. In the dreams and when she first 'met' Mr. Bob, she was a child. Those things persisted into adulthood. I know she's not a child in the current events of the game, but we saw pieces of when she was a child. I'm the beginning of the game, she expresses that when she last had those nightmares, she was a child and her parents didn't believe her that it happened.
Am i the only one who thinks Jack was a part of this?
I mean her parents didn't believe her when she gave his description... yet a full-grown officer was not only unfazed by Mr. Bob's appearance, but was also okay with that creepy " I'll take care of you forever" words to Alesa?
Also they assigned her a case to that house, that all of a sudden no one has lived in for years.
Who made the report and was there no prior investigation?
I'm over thinking it i know, but still, lol.
it's just classic "useless police" horror movie cliche, I doubt the dev really think much about it
i... did not expect the "become a lamp" part to be so... uh, like that. with manly's commentary it kinda felt like some kind of horror version of monty python lmao edit: okay. it was all very "monty python if it was horror". also what is with all the showering scenes, dang.
Exactly. So weird.
maybe it's a psycho homage?
Idk personally porn can be a real effective body horror. I've actually read a consensual lamp becoming fic and it wasn't even that sexualised for being porn lol, deffo hit the body horror itch. And some of the horror of it is the knowledge someones got of to it.

Isnt becoming a lamp just the logical extreme of objectification?

I knew Greta's ending wouldn't be a happy one thanks to her other side, but I still wish there was one ending where you can escape with her and live... you just kinda gotta feel bad for the abused and lonely gal who's murderous against her own will.
Gratuitous fanservice aside, though, this game's pretty neat. I love the variety of options, especially being able to go the whole game without a tongue. Twins feel kinda underused though tbh, they basically just exist to be an instant kill option
Honestly i was sort if expecting a Yuri/Love Story end between Greta and the Protagonist because oh boy they for sure made a connection quickly and that scene were they casually shower together is just hilarious.
"Sure i don’t mind showering with someone i just met, exposing me at my most vulnerable while the person is clearly mentally understandable"
I really, REALLY wish more games did the whole insanely unexpected weird ending thing.
Not just horror games, but just all games in general. They usually make up some of my overall favorite gaming memories.
Like Tales of Xillia 2's arena ending.
But it in particular works REALLY well in horror, especially if you just randomly put like... weirdly meta choices and dialogue in there with it.
Like I'd just love to see a horror game where one of your dialogue options when confronting the antagonist is just like "ask for a job" and it just leads to this completely insane story twist where, y'know, it's just like "protag doesn't know why, but he was just suddenly overcome by the desire to ask the creature trying to kill him for a job, and what do you know, somehow it worked!" and then you just like... have an entire gameplay sequence where you're just like working as some crazy horror monster's secretary or security or maid or something like that.

I had the same reaction to those shower scenes
I didn't know she wanted to be a lamp so badly but at least her questionable dream came true.
That scene left me speechless-
I know it's perspective but Alesa has such tiny little legs! Little little legs! Jack is useless, but I really like the characters. The game goes out of its way to show they're not figments of Alesa's imagination, and Mr. Bob is the only enemy that doesn't "result in death" so to speak. Deepest lore enjoyers would have a field day with this game.
There are like references to 2010s horror JRPGs and i am HERE for it.
- The doll room (with manly pronouncing Ib correctly)
- the dining room right after is similar to the dining room in Witch's House
- the chainsaw and her father "being mad about it" is very very much a reference to Mad Father.
- the white heads in the windows were very similar to the doll heads in Ib
- the dead pets in the garden could be a ref to Mad Father, with Snowball.
- not JRPG, but it's possible her name is a reference to Alessa Gillespie from Silent Hill
- the whole social worker thing could be a reference to Case 42 or whatever that film was called.
- Mr.Bob himself could be a reference to Mr.Babadook.
I probably missed some but I wonder if it's a coincidence or if they're genuine references.
Sweet Manly lore: He only says it when there are empty trash cans, no other empty item

@@TheShut1 probably also cause of the whole idea that alesa was sent there to investigate possible child neglect. lol
I have seen 12 seconds of this video and after looking at a few comments, I feel like this game is a take on the idea of 'The Sexy Lamp Test'. If unaware, it's a thought experiment for any writer who might be trying to write a character of the opposite sex. Basically saying if you can switch a character who comes into the scene with a sexy lamp, than you have a badly written character who's just eye candy.
Not gonna lie, hearing you call back to LISA after all these years brought back a massive swath of nostalgia since that's one of the first series of yours I remember watching, if not the first overall! Man, where did all the time go.
I was in highschool when I watched the Lisa series no I just made 20 I feel olddd
I didn't know there were pixelated games with jiggle physics
✨️The more you know!✨️
I love how you gave Mr. Bob Salad Finger's voice.
Hot take but I kinda like it the way it is? There is amateurish charm to it as well as a nice campy, kinda refreshing feel, whether intentional or not. I like the comically oblivious but resourceful protagonist that blasts bad guys' brains out, and even her look is surprising but not unfitting. Ngl the perfectly symmetrical shower scene in the spooky goth girl epilogue made me giggle! I also like that you can get a happy ending which is always nice and kinda rare in games like this. So yeah, there's definitely room for improvement for future games but the tone is not necessarily something that needs to be changed unless the developer wants to.
Glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks it's amusing rather than offensive. Some times the sexualization or the over sexualization of fem protags / characters bothers me & some times it doesn't. In this case it doesn't since it's a pixel game & reminds me of certain old school games in style & a mix of 80's / vintage horror , especially B horror movies. I seriously doubt the campiness was a mistake and would be surprised if the dev told me I was wrong and there's no intentional homage or inspiration by B horror movies / grind house.
@@kalezuki9231 yeah if it was realistic AAA graphics this would require a lot of effort to translate and stylize and not be completely tasteless, but in a pixel game it works, I agree! Once you understand what it's going for it adds to the game more than it takes away imo, which is what's important about choosing a style/tone. In any way it's not something that has no right to exist and people that say that the dev should "grow out of it" are being kinda ridiculous.
Talk about pencil legs.

*manly sees skinned man in the bathroom but assumes he's dead*
Skinned man: AHHH AUHHHH!!"
Manly:...Wait, your alive?...." walked to the door "I'm leaving"
🤣🤣🤣 Hands down I was Dying
This moment bruh 34:41 - 34:51 😂 I found it funny because of the way he read Alesa's part and then just said 'ball' as if nothing happened 🥲🥲
44:55 Literally, "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream."
19:45 "that crazy B I T C H." I felt the ire in that lmao
That was personal 😂😂
Mr Bob voice definitely sounds like Gmod. "Rise and shine, Mr. Freeman. Time to wake up and smell the ashes..."
G-Man you meant
gmod is the game.
@@VincentTheMasked The Garry's Man
Man why would I tell the 8 ft, disfigured, haunting creature that my parents aren’t home? Like naw my parents won’t be home for the next 10 hours and I’m completely defenseless big dawg why do you think you came to harass me outta everyone in this neighborhood
Manly saying he’s his own holy candle then instantly backtracking after getting attacked by the spirits is hilarious
I got to say no matter how bored i get manly's videos are always a breath of fresh air, there has never been a boring manly video
Props to Alesa for not being stupidly naive at the beginning like every other kid 👏👏👏
The style? The story? Amazing. Manlys Mr Bob? Perfection.
Wher the shower part with Greta
