Congrats on finishing the race! I was at the shake out run, and it was a pleasure running together. Just realized I was also in your footage 😂 so thx for capturing the memorable moments. As for some complaining about the poor organization, I agree there were some hiccups, but overall I had a great time.

I think you still did great and you finished it! 💪🏼 I want to ask, are they very strict with the checkpoints? I will be running next year and this is what I'm worried about.
Awesome video!! I’m going to the Tokyo Marathon next year, 2025. It’ll be the first time I’ll be running in the cold. What exactly do you do with the thermals/jackets you wear before the race starts? I’ll be coming alone and I don’t necessarily want to throw away my jackets 😅

I’d be really interested in a video that breaks down the costs. How you entered, flights, hotels, all the costs involved and how you did that. I’d love to do something like this, but really have no idea…

Brilliant Video diary! Gives a complete accurate account of the whole Tokyo marathon experience! Not carb loading enough before the race 🤔 He was eating Chips for starters amd double chips for main on the Friday night 🤣🤣 Speedgoat = Legend

Love the vlog Toby , very well done superstar! You are a braver man then I, wont go that far myself (well not for a marathon) hope to see you out on on a race course one day, I stand by what I say , you are capable of sub 3 , if life and the stars line up together.

Well done Toby & all the other Fordys!!! As Toby said, it was tough being the other side of the world and there was a bit of a culture shock (at least for me). The organisation beforehand seemed iffy at times, but the race day ran very smoothly. I found the course a bit boring and much lumpier than expected. All in all, I had a great time over in Tokyo and I’m glad Toby enjoyed it as well 🏅 🇯🇵

Questions - You said that you felt you did not hydrate enough the day before the race... I understand that you need to hydrate the day of the race but a day before? Like carb load?

I watched another vlog (A lady from the UK) of her run at Tokyo some years ago and she also said about lack of water on course. And the ban on water going in to her corral. She also touched on the fact it's actually not very well organised. Not what you expect of a Major, and from a country as great as Japan.
