Yeah it's not really a true hockey stick headstock like the ESP one... which is who supplied Kramer back in the day with those headstocks....this "hockey stick" headstock is like 7/8 the size of a real one...
I own many guitars from moderately priced to very expensive. I recently added the 5150 standard and I have to say it is now my favorite. The tones I can get from this are exactly what I have been looking for. The neck finish is perfect. It has surpassed every expectation.
That is a nice looking and sounding guitar. EVH gets a lot of praise for their amps, and rightfully so, but their guitars are also phenomenal for heavy music
This should be how everyone demos a guitar. Straight to the point, play different styles of rock, clean also distorted, rhythm and lead. This is why you are the king. 🙏🔥🤘👍
I own the Poplar Burl 5150 Deluxe and it's my favorite guitar that I own by far. It's so nice and smooth, making it easy to play l. I also love the Killswitch.
And it's finally here. Ola wasn't lying, it is a great guitar, feels good, sounds great, & very well made imo. It sounds really good thru a 5150III Stealth 6L6with the EvH 2x12 cabinet. It even arrived tuned up, which surprised me.
You are one lucky guy Ola. Your hard work has paid dividends. You get to play and sometimes get to keep equipment any of us ordinary mortals could only dream of ever playing let alone owning.
My local guitar center had a used Solar guitar, stealth version. It was a hardtail. It was my first opportunity to try one. It was awesome. It sounded killer. And it felt amazing! I love the contours of the neck and heel joint. The radius of the neck and it's thickness felt great. I'd love to get one eventually. When I can afford one haha
Never been here this early damm. Edit: Watched the whole video, Loved it man. Amazing looking and sounding guitar. Love the tone you got. Keep going mah man!
He left that for us all guitar players boy he sure would enjoyed playing his newly invention RIP Eddie you made a difference in guitar playing I'm sure he's being happy from Stairway heaven👍🙌💯🥰
I've had my 5150 Standard Stealth guitar for about 2 months now. Love it. I tricked it out with upgrade parts from F U Tone. The guitar absolutely screams. When I hit the first chord, I was instantly transported back in time to being a teenager and lusting after a Kramer Baretta. The 5150 Standard Stealth guitar is basically an 85 Kramer Pacer, just updated a bit. And it absolutely RULES when I run it into my 50w 5150 EL34 head. Loving it.
@@1DerekMiracle more versatile. The Baretta only has a single pickup. An 85 Baretta is my Holy Grail guitar. But I feel that the 5150 Standard Stealth is an upgraded Baretta.
@@1DerekMiracle the 5150 Standard Stealth guitar has a neck pickup. Hard to pull off Zack licks without a neck pickup. And for an alnico 2 pickup, the Wolfgang pickups are pretty hotly wound. I was surprised and impressed with the tone from them. I have a set Duncan JB and Jazz set laying around and initially thought they might go into the 5150 Standard Stealth. But now, I don't think they will.
You know they hit the nail on the head with this guitar and amp when the chords at 1:55 sound like Panama (tonality/timbre) without even trying to play the song!
Everything from the amp ,guitar and cab is gotta be my ultimate dream rig. Plus one of those new evh Frankie’s to add. I would be in shredder heaven. Awesome review btw
Omggg i was literally searchin for evh relic frankie and then suddenly saw this video posted like 2 minutes ago amazing .......commenting late because my lappy's battery was dead :)
Rhythm sounds a little bit muddy to me,. but boy the lead sounds are just killer! I could listen to you solo on that guitar and amp all day,! Thanks Ola!
Dream Guitar right there, it has everything I want currently, Floyd Rose, Dual Humbuckers, Stealth Matte color, D-tuna and Killswitch? yeah this guitar is calling for me, sadly the price is just.......err
I loved the sound of that. I know it's a mix of guitar, amp, cabinet and miking but that sounded great. Pretty high gain but the clarity of the individual notes wasn't lost.
Bought a Wolfgang standard last year. For 700 USD it plays like a 1500 dollar guitar. Replaced the FL special with an OG w/ D-Tuna. It's my number one now for live shows.
was it a hard switch? or did the ofr just go straight on for the restring then play like a dream? did action need to be changed, re setup etc, just im thinking of doing the same
i have a USA wolfgang and a 5150ii and they sound utterly spectacular together. eddie knew how to match components and gats and amps etc etc will never part with mine
I think you kinda liked it because I haven't heard you go off into so many different directions and you played some really reallyy cool licks BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Back in the early 90's, I bought a 100w Peavey power amp and used a Marshall preamp with it. Played it through a Marshall 4x12 straight cab and it sounded exactly like the 5150. Total cost? under $300, not counting the cabinet. The cabinet was actually more expensive than the power amp and preamp combined. Lol......go figure.
Hmmmm.... between this and the Schecter Sun valley Super Shredder Exotic Black...hard choice... But I like the D-Tuna (like my Striped Series Lefty..) and the Kill Switch...
Have a great Friday everyone! Got a chance to try out this cool guitar, and obviously coupling it with the EVH 5150 iii el34. Pure bliss!
You should mod the guitar so that it plays a fart sound through the amp every time you press the kill switch.
Hope you can do a review of the 5150 Iconic series amps one day. Have a great weekend.
Can you offer me that guitar pleaseeeee 🤩
I'm going to be trying out a Jackson pro model Phil demmel demolition Series this weekend

EVH is kicking out some bad ass guitars.
Junk from Mexico 🇲🇽
It’s Edwards company........ what do you really expect???????
It’s got Edwards name on it is what I am saying
anything under his name is quality
I absolutely love the hockey/banana style head stock. Possibly my favorite of any guitar headstocks
Old school kill switch on my les Paul with 2 seperate volumes... Turn one to zero, break your selector like a dj
That's what I'm used to as well, which makes a killswitch feel backwards.
I loved having 4 knobs for that reason,
I dont care for a single tone knob, but give me two and I go nuts
Buckethead vibes
interesting that Fender makes EVH, with that headstock, but Gibson owns Kramer
Gibson once tried making a strat, so...
The dimensions are pretty different, even though the concept is obviously the same. Maybe that's a factor?
@@andrewfultz7472 yeah the kramer headstock is larger

I agree, it seems like the upper mids from the pickups have a really aggressive sound to them but without being overkill. Great for Metal!
Hej Ola! Love the fact that you are trying more 80's inspired guitars in the last a few weeks.
Love that you continue to also highlight and use real tube amps. Keep that mojo alive brutha!!
Definitely looks like a guitar that Trogly would own, he’s also got a fender EVH guitar and now I kinda hope that he gets this guitar too!
Welcome back Troglidites

Ola, I really enjoyed this video.
