Catching up after my own cross-country move... I think we are of the same generation so I can say that Willie was quite the heartthrob back in the day! However, I can't help but look at pictures from back in the 90s/00s and think, they are such babies! Good thing that both my taste and Willie himself has refined with age, lol!

Oh what a treat! I have just driven up to Perth, (Western Australia) to drop my youngest son off to his boarding school for the last time, as it’s his last two weeks of high school before Valedictory ( the second week) Its a 5&1/2 hour drive, followed by a quick catch-up with other mums, ( and a couple of Dads) So it’s been a long day. I got to my daughter’s house & grabbed a bite to eat and had a chat before falling into bed. I was thrilled to see your latest drop! I especially love your foraging adventures! It’s like we’re with you! I’m up early for nine holes of golf with my gal pals, before heading home to Denmark (Western Australia again!) the 5&1/2 hours in reverse! (Not backwards… 😂)
Said it before, this is simply the best UA-cam channel going, must say that although Sarah is looking fine those pics of Willy from his band days are just absolute fire!

My first thought watching you all foraging, train the dogs Spaniels are perfect for it. Both are from a long line of working dogs. You only have to watch how they both work the ground searching for sent. Train them on sent, to find, sit & alert, same as all the drug/money/bomb dogs... They are such smart dogs. Great vid as ever, thanks 🏴

Having just spent 3 weeks travelling around Scotland in our campervan we agree with just about all you've said!! Lean to Coffe shop cinnamon buns are to die for😊 Pattack Falls, wonderful woods & walks. House of Bruar.....poshest toilets ever....shopping.....not on our pay grade😮.....but the whisky shop is worth casting an eye over.....we pretty much drove that route along the A86 & A9 last week. Lovely to see it again even though we're now 500 miles away in Devon.
West Scottish Highlands are undoubtedly beautiful. When people ask me what Romania, where I've lived since 2010 is like, I always say that it's like the west Highlands but the mountains are almost twice the height of Ben Nevis with many peaks over 2000 metres and without the rain or the midges!
@@thehighlandlife2023 I live in a small village very near to the geographic centre of the country. Sighișoara with its medieval citadel is 20kms away, Sibiu is 90kms away and I go there often for a meal with friends. Between the two are many villages with castles and fortified churches. Close to Sibiu is the Făgăraș mountain range and the Transfăgărășan road which snakes up to a summit level of 2000 metres. First snow of the winter fell there last week and it will soon be closed until April from the summit level down the south side where the road is steeper and susceptible to deep drifts.

awww.. this past week was awesome on Skye, if anyone wants a great holiday go to Skye. we bought the good weather with us hehe... boat trip out of Portree was fruitful, Killer Whale breaching, Humpback whale breaching and tail wave, lots of porpoises, seals, and sea eagle, and seeing red deer on the hills from the boat was awesome. lots of extraordinary views , visits and the people are so friendly. I saw a few spots I recognize from your videos. made me smile hehe... great video again guys xx

@@thehighlandlife2023 the skipper of the boat said he did a 17 day trip hunting whales for a research team as he is a zoologist, they saw nothing. and we out for half an hour and saw the humpback. followed for about half an hour. as we left her an orca breached and jumped.. was the most amazing thing ever. I'm still reeling from the sights.
Foraging mushrooms in the woods looks perfect! I don’t know enough about it to pick mushrooms with my two although we see them often growing in our woods!
I know right September and the start of October have been summering more than summer did!! 🤣🤣 Love seeing the doggies splashing about! I’d have been in with them 😍 Looked like a cracking spot for a dook!
It is a lovely spot for a dip - as the group of ladies who were there also thought. So we had to do a swift exit with our two mental spaniels before they completely shattered the peace & quiet 😅

Pitlochry! Looks much nicer weather than we were there and that wonderful man in the distillery shop gave us some very hot mulled wine after we stumbled in looking very wet and miserable :)

Pitlochry is lovely. We live in the very far north of the Scottish highlands and love sharing the beautiful landscape and adventures we take. Just got back from the isolated Isle of Muck! Which was epic. Video in process! X
You should keep the dinghy! I cut them into flat sheets and they make excellent tarps and drop sheets or floor and veg or weed covers etc. Outdoor furniture covers over winter etc.

We have always been lucky with our trips to Skye as well. Loved Skye, but also love our home here in the far north of the Scottish highlands. So glad you have a wee dip in the sea, nothing like it is there? X
Since your Land Rover lacks air conditioning, consider picking up a couple of dog crate fans for when traveling when the temperatures are higher. They are fans that usually have hooks that let you hang them on the wire of a crate door (or that metal interior divider you have) and use larger batteries like C or D cell for long operation. Or just a couple of USB powered fans and use a power pack to run them. They make cheap USB fans with magnetic bases or clamps.
I too had to wear a tie to school. It was me who taught our two sons to tie a tie. Loved the baby hat. I know I’ve been to Pitlochry as soon as I saw it I thought I’ve been there.💜

? Are chanterelle mushrooms the same as oyster mushrooms 🤨😁
No oyster mushrooms are different - they are white in colour and grow from logs. Chanterelles are a golden yellow and smell a bit like apricots 😊
Your foraging reminds me of the saying "All mushrooms are edible. Some only once." to paraphrase Terry Pratchett!

Oh we were on Skye that few days, had Talisker beach to ourselves for a bit one day and swam in the sea, first trip to Skye, could not believe how lucky we were...
We have always been lucky with our trips to Skye as well. Loved Skye, but also love our home here in the far north of the Scottish highlands. So glad you have a wee dip in the sea, nothing like it is there? X

Since your Land Rover lacks air conditioning, consider picking up a couple of dog crate fans for when traveling when the temperatures are higher. They are fans that usually have hooks that let you hang them on the wire of a crate door (or that metal interior divider you have) and use larger batteries like C or D cell for long operation.
Or just a couple of USB powered fans and use a power pack to run them. They make cheap USB fans with magnetic bases or clamps.
I too had to wear a tie to school. It was me who taught our two sons to tie a tie. Loved the baby hat. I know I’ve been to Pitlochry as soon as I saw it I thought I’ve been there.💜
I pretty much did that weekend in the opposite direction. Went from East Lothian to Applecross on a motorbike trip, weather was amazing. 😊
