I remember I remember those days when we would go camping and we had three girls but it take me a day to pack the car and my husband would always holler there's no room for anymore but when you get kids they need stuff that brought back a lot of memories God bless you someday you'll remember the fun it was also love you lots have fun
Bennett's bread looks so good, what a great little cook he is. No joke my Benjamin Bunny gets anxiety every time he sees us with a bag/Suitcase his little brain thinks we are going FOREVER so l can understand Luna feeling the same way. Sweet Everetts drawer situation gave me anxiety when you packed his clothes, you forget little ones think they do a great job putting all the clothes away after Mum just spent ages folding them they throw them into the drawers!! So happy to see you are looking after yourself even when away from home and packing food to make you feel good as well. Thanks for sharing 🥰
My kids and I just took a road trip to Florida. I had so many clothes options that I had laid out for them, paired them down to less and when we got to Florida realized I could of packed even less. We had access to a washer and dryer and even I was just wearing things on repeat. My new motto is Less is More! I also did the duffel bags because I could fit them in the stow and go in the van so much better than a big suitcase! I used the packing cubes but I'm not so sure if they are all the rave when kids are still little. I was able to pack 2 girls per cube but we have them when they get bigger and can't share anymore.
I think it's so great that you make alot of your food..or grow it..hunt & catch etc. I was watching Dougherty Dozen & abt had a stroke when I saw her 1200 weekly grocery bill. she buys so much when she could do less. sure we all splurge by why waste $ when you don't have to. idc how much $ ppl have, things can change in an instant..you understand that! You can still be Frugal and have nice things & $$ to splurge on vacation and fun stuff! You know exactly how to run a home..other people should learn something lol ....and IDK if this would help but we put an extra bar in our son's closet so I can have more room. I got 3 off Amazon actually for less than $12...there the ones that adjust and don't req installation..even put one in the shower with square baskets from the $ store ..you take S hooks & can store whatever..gives way more room and things don't have to be everywhere
Hello!! Dougherty dozen videos have been popping up for me as well. She does buy a lot of snacks and drinks and such but she also does an amazing job of feeding and loving on all those kids! We all just do our best. It really does take a balancing act to make sure we have what we need when times are lean. Thanks for watching!!
Bennett does so well in the kitchen, he really seems like he has a real passion for cooking. The bread looked absolutely delicious. After all that hard work packing you definitely need a holiday. Have a wonderful week 💞
I love it when you all go to the cabin. I'm so interested in how do you tie up the boat because of the tide swings high and low. Maybe you can do a video on how you land the boat and then pull it out into the deeper water. I have never done this and so interested in the steps you take to do it. I so want to stroll along on the beach with my hubby seeing all the things. Taking our boat out and being able to anchor it correctly would sure help with that dream. Thank you.
At the cabin We have a running line that is tied out to 2 buoys that are anchored. When we want to land otherwise, we have to pay attention to the tides, anchor the boat out past low tide and take a small raft into shore. Otherwise you can easily get beached. I hope that makes sense. I will try to remember to talk about that in a future video. We are already back from the cabin for this trip!
I can’t wait to see your cabin. My husband and I live in a 3 story log home in NH on 9 acres. Now we have been looking for a cabin on a lake for a getaway. Have a safe trip.
Bennett's bread looked yummy! Packing is always a big job, but you got it all organized! Wow, great job! Hope you have a wonderful time at the cabin and everyone catches lots of fish!
We used to take our cat with us on vacation cuz we always went to the same place he never ran away or anything it was like a child he would sit on my lap and ride and let's have the window we didn't turn them loose but he figured out how to open up the door so but he never ran away stayed close
Guess it is time to buy a couple extra duffel bags for side trips for swimming gear and day adventures. I love the divider bags, great idea, I bet it makes it easier to find things without pulling everything out of bags. Super job on the bread Bennett. It looked yummy all buttered and jellied up. Looked like everyone enjoyed it. I bet you are exhausted. And that is part one. Can't wait to see it All. Thanks for taking us along. The Garden is looking great.
Love the video! I remember family trips taken with my parents and sisters… I was always excited and packed weeks in advance! So many memories and experiences I treasure and won’t ever forget! Oh, and Bennett did such an awesome job with the bread- master chef, here he comes!
Prepping for and unloading from trips are so much work but all the fun and memories while on vacation are so worth it!! Lists absolutely save me from going 🤪 and once you have a good list you can reuse it. Your adventures always look so fun!
Lauren, a woman's work is never done.😆❤ ....my goodness, it takes everyone to get all the chores done, pack and get some sleep. Before, you all take off for your family vacation to the cabin. By the way, did you guys eat all of the bread or did you take it with you? It sure looked delicious!😋 I bet your whole house smelled like a bakery. 🍞🍞🍞🍞 I do wonder though, who takes care of Luna for that week, while you all are away?🐈❤
We ate a loaf while it was hot, Bennett gave my parents a loaf, and then we brought two along for the trip. My parents or a friends look after Luna. I wish we could take her along but I think she might get taken by an eagle at the cabin!
Lauren.. your system for packing looks really organized ! Bennett’s bread looked amazing , my mouth was watering ! I could only imagine the smell in your house that day !! Enjoy your trip and Be Safe ! 🙏❤️
Bread look delicious 😋 Great job,,I love your children are so ready to pick in Professional Chef in making,,but you can tell Bennett loves cooking. Great video have a Wonderful time at the cabin. Love see fur baby Luna💞🐾🐾
The bread looked delicious! I usually pack a week ahead, otherwise I would forget things, and I definitely have to make a list. I was wondering how all the family, luggage and food was going to fit in the airplane. Then you said you were driving 5 hours with all the gear and food. I couldn’t do it. I’ve never driven that far by myself. You are brave and strong. Such wonderful adventures and memories you and Mark are making with the boys.
As always, loved the day to day with your family. And yes, packing AND leaving any trip seems to be the most exhausting thing ever! I have to say.. Amazing job on the bread, Bennett! Our son (10) loves to cook and bake so that definitely was awesome to see but can we just have a minute to LOVE the total DAD moment of Mark standing at the kitchen window admiring the freshly cut lawn? I LOLed for real at that!
Beautiful looking bread Bennett. I think you might be a chef in the making. Great organization on the boys bags Lauren. Your really think of everything. Hope you have a wonderful trip to the cabin.
My tried and true smoothie, 1/2 frozen banana 8 oz of water scoop of protein powder ( chocolate Gold Standard Whey from costco is the only one I have ever found that I like) scoop of peanut butter powder handful of spinach scoop of collagen powder
Good job on the bread 😋You are so organized, loved the way you pack the clothing, I wish I could do it half as well. We have a trailer and I am going to be more diligent. My worst is planning meals, I have a tendency to wait to see what we feel like eating. I need to change that.
Bread Recipe: 4 Cups Warm Water 4 Cups Flour Mix Together Until Wet ½ cup sugar 3 T Oil 2 Heaping T quick rise Yeast Add to wet ingredients until mixed Once mixed add 1T salt Mix until combined Add 5-7 Cups of flour until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. @@ThisAlaskaLife Thank you so much for replying ❤️
Whatever happened to the giant passenger van you bought awhile ago?
Still here! It is not the most fuel efficient so I chose to drive Marks car for the road trip. I use it all the time to haul cousins and boats around.

🤩😍🤩
Better to take your Costco haul of products you already bought then buy it again at that grocery there by the cabin
A mama's job is never done. Lol!
😍😍😍😎
I’m a terrible packer. I always overpack.
Do you ever find the frogs frozen or just after they've thawed out?
I have only found them in the summer.
Do you have a fridge at the cabin or put cold stuff in ice chests
Ice chests
Could you share the bread recipe

Oil a bowl and put the dough in to rise until double in size. Cover with a cloth.
Shape into loaves and place in 4 greased pans. Cover and let rise till double.
Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes
If it's moose season could you shoot the moose in your yard curious about this
I’m pretty sure gun safety laws would not allow shooting so close to a residence.
What kind of flour do you use?
Didn’t seem like much protein/meat for 6 people for a week….did I miss it?
We took Moose meat and lunch meat but other than that we will eat TONS of fish! I have most of our meals filmed so be sure to check it out.
@@ThisAlaskaLife forgot you are in Alaska and going to a cabin so fishing a lot….thanks enjoy watching your videos and your family…..have a fantastic week away🤗
Wow that was alot of packing, you made me tired just watching you pack and organize all the stuff.
Who looks after her while you away
Do the kids earn money for chores
I don't how you do with the children you need a robot to help you out with things
Super stinky lol
