Your video is a life saver. I thought my machine was broken and i havent even used it yet. In the video instructions from Sewing Studios, it does not instruct you to turn the needle wheel until it locks so that it can self thread. Thank you so much ❤
Got this serger for Christmas because I was begging for the self threading feature but I’m a visual learner not a book learner (I know what the words mean but don’t know how to apply them) so your step by step including closeups was a lifesaver for me. Thank you!
I can’t thank you enough! I could not figure out the right and left needle threading path looking at the manual. You made it perfectly clear! So grateful. You earned a new sub! ❤
Thank you so much for doing this. I have just bought this machine and it's always easier to see someone demonstrate this instead of wading through pages of an instruction manual
They said when you do the wave sewing, you can’t use regular serger thread and of course they didn’t tell what threads TO use. Can you enlighten us on this please ? Thank you ! Great video. I’m getting my Acclaim on Friday. I’m very excited ! Thanks again !
Just got my Acclaim. Loopers ok, couldn’t figure out needle threading. I didn’t realize you had to put the threader thing back to see the needles threaded. Your video was great, thanks!
This video saved me from muttering bad words while I was trying to figure out the diagrams in the manual to thread the needles on my acclaim. Thank you so much.
omigosh thank you! I could not get that upper looper to air-thread and your comment about having enough thread made me go back and check and that was my problem!
Thank you so much!! This was a fabulous tutorial! I had resigned myself to a trip back to the dealer for help and found to is video. Thanks again for clear and easy to understand demo!! All my fear eased away as I listened and followed your video. Bless you!!!
These step by step instructions were very helpful, thank you very much. We purchased my Acclaim a year ago and I have only used it for about an hour when the thread broke. I read the manual over and over again and could not figure out how to thread it correctly. When we purchased it from the dealer they did all of the threading and talking and I never got any hands on lessons. They are in another town from us so it was not like I could just drive there for help. Once again thank you.
Thank you so much for making this step -by-step video on threading- especially the needles. I was so overwhelmed and intimidated this morning trying to figure out how to thread my new machine. After reading and rereading the documentation, I had almost given up. Then I found your video ... and was up and surging in no time. You made my day 😁👍
Absolute beginner here. We have subscribed, given thumbs up and are watching your extremely helpful tutorials like front-row students. Is the Acclaim the serger we should buy, or is their a less expensive "Baby Lock" you could suggest? These serger machines seem to be in short supply? Can two men, 57 years each, learn to serg two long pieces of nylon ripstop fabric together in a somewhat professional-looking way? We're willing to learn, but are both truly intimidated. Lol... Thank you so much. ;-)
Hi Austin!! First, OF COURSE you can learn! Truly, it's all about practice. Regarding the machine, the reason I chose the Acclaim is because of the automatic threading feature and the auto tension feature. There are other more entry-level Baby Lock machines you can and should check out. I started out with an entry level machine and learned a lot with it. I had it for about 4 years until it began to drive me crazy with bad stitches. Like with anything, you get what you pay for. So if you want an excellent machine that is a breeze to use you have to pay for it... The very best way to buy something like this is to look for the sewing stores in your area that are name brand dealers. Then go there in person and they will let you look at, try, ask questions, about all of the machines and you can negotiate your heart out to get the best price. Especially on floor models! Lastly, don't be intimidated because you know what they say, people regret what they didn't do, not what they tried!! You can do this!
Hi agree very well explained. Would like to see how you start and end off a seam on the serger since you don;t use a back stitch as a sewing machine. Thank you
Hi. Have you covered how to use the Baby Lock 4 thread revolutionary air threading guide attachment please? I can't find how (or when) to use it. Many thanks.
I am SO sorry I did not see this until now! I'm not sure what attachment you are referring to? Could it be the one that comes down to thread the 2 needles? If that's the case it is in the latter part of this video for you.
@@MakeItPlace I have watched this video over and over but can’t tell if you have the pressure foot up or down during the whole process. Could you please tell me?
Is ur stitch fork a flimsy metal that bends if I pull on my chain it will skip stitch and if I make a small stitch on a rolled hem it bends it and it will break my needle want to know if they fixed this ? And if I can order the stitch fork/ or what ever it is ?
I am using SureLock cones "for overlock machines" from JoAnn. It works well but you do have to clean/brush your machine out quite often to keep all the thread lint clear.

@Trent Rylan Flixportal =)

You saved me! One question: the thread button for needles seems to just stay on,do you push it again to stop??
Thanks so much I have this machine too and I got stuck but you helped me out!
Glad I could help!

Which brand of thread do you use? Great Tutorial.

I just purchased the acclaim as well as the accessory 10 feet. Are there other fit available for the acclaim?
Nice video, thanks
awesome job, thank you.
Let me know if you would like a tutorial on any other Acclaim function, I would be happy to do it.
@@MakeItPlace I have watched this video over and over but can’t tell if you have the pressure foot up or down during the whole process. Could you please tell me?
Do you have a video with very basic serger terminology & explanations?
Not at the moment but I will add that to my video list! THANK YOU for the suggestion.
Is ur stitch fork a flimsy metal that bends if I pull on my chain it will skip stitch and if I make a small stitch on a rolled hem it bends it and it will break my needle want to know if they fixed this ? And if I can order the stitch fork/ or what ever it is ?
Can you suggest a thread storage box for serger threads? I have Madeira serger threads.
Thank you! Worked perfectly!
Glad it helped!
I I have an Evolve serger. I can’t get the thread to go into the ports. I place it in the port, but it won’t go down. Any suggestions?
So sorry Diane, I wish I could help but I don't know that machine!
Thank you - it would have taken me DAYS otherwise.

Where did you purchase you baby lock acclaim serger?
Hi there- I purchased mine at Linda Z's Sewing Center in Arlington Heights, IL. With these machines you need to purchase through a dealer.
