    My serger is sitting in it's box because I had nothing but disasters sewing with it. I called my serger "the beast" because I couldn't tame it. Now I know why, oh my, now I know why.

    I just found you and I am so glad I did. I sent my old serger the Viking s25 to my sister because I was so frustrated with threading it. And I just bought a Triumph. So now I am hoping to learn how to use it with your helpful videos.

    I’m so glad I found you! I bought the Victory overlock and the Euphoria this past year. I am loving them both, especially the easy air way to thread them! I started off my overlock journey with my first one my husband bought me from Cloth World about 40 years ago. I rolled so many ruffles for my little girl! I really appreciate your showing how to sew a ruffle with the overlock! You explain everything so well. I’ll be watching all of your videos and following you. Thanks again! Kathy in Texas

    Overall super helpful video! I know you are just getting started with filming, so just giving some feedback - the lighting in some shots makes it hard to see what you are doing, also when you show what you sewed - hold it to the camera a second or 2 longer. Definitely gave me so many answers ~ thank you!!

    When you use ruffler when making a pattern with specific cut size pieces, attaching ruffle to dress for example how do you get the ruffle to gather the right amount so that you don’t run out of ruffle fabric before getting all the way around the dress or have too much of ruffle fabric left over when you get around the dress to joining spot?

    • @deborahcanham2618
      @deborahcanham2618  3 роки тому +1

      Sorry to be late answering this. The problem is that it is very hard to estimate how much fabric you will need in a ruffle. For attaching a ruffle as you speak you may do better to gather with 4 thread overlock and pull up the gathers to fit the dress.

    I have just found you. Your overlocker is quiet. I have the Brother 1034D and it’s noisy. Can you give me any tips on hemming blue organza with an overlocker. I tried it with the rolled hem and it just pulled away afterwards despite the stitching itself looking good. Someone on one of my groups said they always had the same trouble with the blue. Much appreciated if you can advise me on this. I did get some woolly nylon which I’ve not tried yet, should this go in a looper or would a wider overlock be better.

    • @deborahcanham2618
      @deborahcanham2618  2 роки тому +1

      Firstly try using a smaller needle. Then increase your stitch length. If you have trouble with pokies use a wash away stabilizer on top and then wash it away afterwards. Imagine your organza is a piece of paper. When you pierce it with your needle you are creating a perforated edge which may cause your stitches to tear off. I have a video on this on my public page Deb Canham Studio - Serger Sanity on Facebook. There are a number of videos under the video tab.
