Also, with the String of pearls, fertilize once a year in winter time (January) dilute ferlitilzer by 3 to make it weaker. Only one time fertilize, then keep twirling the string onto the top of the soil. Keep twirling so the stems keeps touching the soil, you can use ladies bobby pins to lightly force the stem to touch soil. The nodes are along the stem and will root at each node. I dont let mine hang till the pot is an inch thick all over the pot. This makes the strands strong so they cling to the soil and can take the weight of hanging. In hot, dry climate water often, every 5 days.... Cold climate,, every 10 to 12 days. They are winter growers and water lovers. I make my soil rocky as the pearls love water but dont like being wet, NO MISTING. I went thru 5 strands to figure this out. I now have a very large full pot. Hot hot climate indirect with trickle sunshine on THE TOP of the pot. Normal temps 80 F,,, full sun for 5 hours on top of pot. Summer always very bright indirect light. They will need that 1 time watered down fertilizer to really really take off.... And twirl, before you hang.... Twirl like pasta on the soil.... You will have much luck.

I agreed to you Frank , I have a white big hanging planter where in I planted this string of Pearl, they grew well but after few months I noticed they are drying , some are dried and died, so to save them I decided to put them in small plastic basket . So I decided to bought another 3 hanging plastic basket worth ( $10 each ) now I need to repot them,,, your always on time to help me my dear Guru . OH NY GOSH I did not know that they actually propagate from just the balls! Never ever ever did I know that! I'm going to try it now! Everybody thought that bear paws couldn't be propagated just from the paws themselves either but a shipment that I just received from an Etsy shop proved otherwise. I've got a beautiful variegated bear paw with roots on it and a lot of them.

When I had found Mealy bugs on my regular and variegated string of pearls, after I took them out and treated them, because I was actually in the middle of repotting when I found the dreaded mealys, I had repotted them into a tray and laid them all out nicely but then they really got shriveled up and pretty unhappy and I didn't have a lot of hope for them but I didn't want to give up on them either. Well fast forward about a month and a half later and I've got super plump pearls again. They're really happy. But I think I saw signs of Neely's being back in them. Here's hoping not. But yeah, you're not wrong when you say it takes a while for them to plump back up after being dehydrated or unhappy. But mine still looks super duper happy thank God

Amazing content as always. I recently got string of pearls from a nursery online. Thankfully they were not dehydrated in transit. The string is approximately a foot long and i have just planted the end in soil and let it hang. Should i add some more string to my pot to cover the soil or not?? Also what is the soil mix you used for pearls propagation because i received almost 50 pearls and tears in my package.
yes plant it… where you see aerial roots ….it’s a slow process of growth don’t disturb or move them once planted …it will take couple of months to show any visible growth ☺️
The pearls just keep on dying… i have planted the aerial roots as well and i am keeping the soil moist… maybe its the temperature… i live near delhi and the temperature is about 48 in the afternoon and is 40 above almost for 10 hours in a day.. so can you share your area so that we get an idea

this is what I got from google Grow string of hearts in bright indirect light, out of direct sunshine. Water regularly in spring and summer, allowing the soil to completely dry out between waterings. Reduce watering in winter, and never let the plant sit in water as the roots can rot and kill the plant.
yes avoid water on the pearls to be on the safer side …you can do bottom watering if pot is small or water only the soil from top …untill water passes the drain hole …don’t expose to direct sun that’s the most important part
hello mam I don’t have that succulent yet but the care is exactly same as string of pearls ….care is almost similar to string of pearls …..string is tears is actually called Senecio Herreanus….. the initial care is required just like pearls ….once you get the plant it will take around 1-2 months for the plant to adjust n new environment…you will experience shrinking of tears ,mushy tears and wrinkles this is all part of the plant getting acclimated so don’t worry but keep the watering schedule water when the soil is around 90 per dry ….don’t keep them underwater for long and don’t keep the soil dry for very long ….don’t want frequently ….nce they are completely acclimated they will show signs of thirst by putting wrinkling on tears…..but don’t expose to direct sun that’s the most important part keep them in indirect but bright very bright light that’s all …keep in shallow plastic container

Yes its absolutely fine watering depends on your environment and soil and how soon the soil dries ...yes keep in a place we're there lots of light but not direct sun it will get Green slowly
mam I use the same soil what I use for other succulents but I use little extra soil on the surface like just one inch regular gardern soil…: mam m not sure about the nursery soil cause a lot of nursery use cocopeat which is ideally not good for succulent …. we’re have u placed the string of pearls

How do you get your pearls so fat? Mine, if i give them more light, they bleach out and lose their shine. Less light, they green up and become shiny but they are less than 1 centimeter in diameter.

yes I have noticed that we just need to wait for sometime and see what happen atlot of times we panic and that’s ends up killing the succulents 🙁

but i would recommend going with stem cutting . single pearls only if they break off accidentally ..single ones are little tricky

I would say avoid clay if belong to very dry environment….clay will again pull out all the moisture quickly same like concrete pot ☺️

yes absolutely it’s good but only during growing period and very very minimal quantities after dilution

@@diyadessai mam the soil has to be same lose porous well draining it will usually take time for them to adjust don’t over water and keep them indirect bright light it will take around 1-2 months for sop to completely adjust till then need to be careful
