@@tylermills4818 a rare version of arbalist that is stronger and has more abilities. Both of them can do the volley though, barret's just does more damage
Hey! Nice one! Glad to see you took up the suggestion. The lost battalion in DD2 were suppose to stop the cultist from descending. They achieved their objective of killing the boss!
This suggests that, at least this particular trio, is of equal or greater strength as a full team of four heroes. It's quite interesting to me that perhaps a lot more monster mash-ups are actually designed as equals to the heroes. It's also reason to congratulate ourselves for beating them time and time again.
Yes they are designed to be more powerful than basic heroes. However that's only to compensate for the fact that it has an AI which can't possibly compete with humans.
Nah, they are designed to be controlled by AI that chooses random actions, sometimes stronger ones, sometimes weaker ones. So when they are controlled by a human he can just spam tha most op move/combo.
It's funny and yet inspiring to see that any group of somewhat skilled beings can kill the final bosses of confessions. It means, that the virtue is not in being strong, but in being brave enough to dare the beast, that is feared by everyone else.
I like the idea that these three guys somehow remembered what their mission was before they got corrupted, and as a last big "fuck you", went ahead and avenged their friends and themselves.
This gives me hope that one day each mob will be modded into being a playable character (with some limitations but those too can be fixed by some custom animations/art). Also love these vids!
@@BalldoTM I think it would make for a very fun PvP mode. Every player picks a faction and builds three teams out of a certain roster of units (for example only 1-2 big units, only 3 supporters etc.), places them in order and then battles the other player in a series of fights. First fight starts at the "border" between both players areas. The winner presses on to the opponents lairs entrance. If the attacking player wins, he presses on to the lairs inner area and on another victory to the boss area. If he loses the other player goes on the offensive. Damage at boss fights are saved between bouts (so if team 2 loses to the boss team 3 takes over where team 2 left) and the entire match ends either if one boss is defeated or both players have no teams left anymore with the winner being decided by how close it was to victory. Just a quick idea.
I hope in the near future you let the lost battalion fight with regular cultists. And if it's ok, just let them fight via AI? The thrill of sheer randomness is invigorating. Still, loving this fight though! Hoping to see more!
Probably some cultist magic that made the forest turn on the soldiers, corrupting them into undead (technically, since they can still bleed) and giving them no purpose but to stay and wait, essentially “giving up”.
The horror of the cult makes the Legion lethargic, if not they might even be able to fight the cultists off. They also have cannons in their arsenal, so yeah, it's rather lucky for the cultists of all people not needing to fight the Legion in its prime.
I think we can see this as an allegory for mentally difficult things being not so bad, if you try to take them on anyways Or maybe that undead zombies who don't need to worry about mental breakdowns and have barrels worth of adrenaline tonics would do well vs enemies that are half focused on mental damage Or maybe it's just that serrated bolt volley is a nasty skill, "where's an archer (crossbowman) when you need one" indeed
It would actually be kind of interesting if they introduced a hero that took up two spaces. Maybe the Crusader riding a horse or the Arbalest using a ballista.
I love these vids ! But I think it would be more fair and more interesting to not use Combat Items, they give too strong of an advantage, and enemies usually don't have them.
Accualy once you make it to The Mountain you can play "wihout stress". I mean sure meltdown on 100hp MAA still hits like a truck, but on less tanky and/or damaged heroes it's often less dangerous than simple crit

Hey sorry if you've already answered this, but how did you manage to make this work? Since the hero palettes have been added to the game, I haven't been able to mod enemies into my party without them just looking like heroes without any animations. Setting hero_palette to Null just makes the game crash. Whats your secret?
I'm not making big changes at all, I copy enemy data files from Actors folder when I encounter them, then paste into Actors folder in Boss fight, then write those enemy IDs instead of my heroes IDs in combat.json file. The way you were trying to do it would make them stay in roster, but overall task of difficult, I haven't go deep into making a completely working character so far, maybe with a better mod support I'll try it.
If I squint my eyes enough, I can imagine the Knight as Chad Reynauld. I miss the Crusader.
New dlc!!
He's back!!!
Makes you really appreciate how annoying drummers + arbalest is
That's not just any arbalest, that's freaking Bull's Eye Barrett.
@@nbewarwe sorry I'm newer to this game who is bullseye barret?
Ordained version of the Arbalest and a righteous pain in the ass. Remains in the backline and shoots arrows that does high damage.

Given the knight counts as 2, they are a team of four.

I have to play devils advocate and say they had some powerful combat items for this fight.....
Still cool though I do agree

I need to see this Trio against more bosses, they do such a good job
I think so, these trio is a good fighters! But they cant defeat the last boss
I LOVE THIS CONCEPT! The Lost Battalion fighting through their curse to actually face the evil of the world!
Damn. If the Lost Batllion weren't undead, I would der how quickly the apocalypse could've been staved off.
Yeah the spell they trew at them was one of the biggest reasons the cultists were able to get theyr shit up and running.
Love that the drummer has a drum ready animation and sound! Among the top annoying monsters to fight, and also the top coolest animation and sound.
These are always such a blast to see, thanks a bunch for making them!

I haven't tried General, but that's a nice idea. I have couple other fights in line, but I'll definetely try General vs Librarian.
thats a bit unfair for the librarian, if the roots managed to hold the librarian he's dead.
They managed that fight pretty well id say
It helps that they don't have to manage Stress.

in-lore some kind of mass AOE spell was cast and basically zombified all of the soldiers, I think

On lockdown
This fits because they were supposed to stop the cultists
drummers and arbalests are harder to take care of than some of the damn bosses.
Love these vids, better and more exciting than playing the game.
I'd like to see a sort of round robin of each faction (non-boss) eventually.
I love these vids ! But I think it would be more fair and more interesting to not use Combat Items, they give too strong of an advantage, and enemies usually don't have them.
Yes, a lot of folks seem to be missing that they used adrenaline tonics that restore 50% of HP. Without those this would have been a full-party wipe.
They are finally doing their job!! Instead of sleeping on The' job... ;)
Makes you wonder why the battalion could not stop the cultists' descent before they were "forgotten"
Spell that turned them undead. They were too much of a threat for the cultist to ignore.
If you are taking suggestions, how about Fanatics versus the leviathan (fire versus water).🤔
This one is a high priority fight, I was working on it and planning to publish one in 2 days.
Hey I'd love to see you make a guide of how to do this cause this looks pretty fun and would like to try it out myself to mess around.
I'll make a guide when official mod support reliases, current modding is not "stable". I'm basically changing save file content but not the game.
Seeing the enemies mirrored is still kinda weird :D Still an entertaining video!

If the knight and arbelist died, even if you were controlling it, would the drummer use "Death before dishonour" automatically?
Not automatically, but that would be the only skill possible to use.
Do they normally have the healing items? It's fun but seems like an ubfair comparison thay they get a free action with heals
They don't have items usually, but they got better prepared for the boss fight.
