I'm thrilled when I catch words and expressions I know but the speed of conversation and the eliding of words makes it a fascinating challenge.

Oh welcome to my channel! Thank you for supporting me both on IG and here! 🙏🏼🥰 It’s fun to copy filler words, it makes you feel like a native speaker! So keep imitating them! 😉 As for sentence making, I think one of the easy ways is to copy what Koreans say. Observing my husband, without studying with a textbook so much, he gets a sense of how Korean sentences are made from copying what I say. Just remember the verbs and adjectives come at the end of the sentence. Other things are more flexible in Korean... becuase there are particles!!! They will show what part of the speech that noun is regardless of the word order!

I haven't made any videos about time phrases yet, so it will be a good idea! 😊 Thank you for the suggestion! For those examples, you can simply just use 한 시간(1hr), 세 달(3months) too. Or you can add 동안 (during) after the time. 한 주/일주일 (동안) 쉬었어요. 거기에서 두 시간 (동안) 있었어요. 세 달 (동안) 한국어 공부 안 했어요.
Depends. If it comes after adjective: ~지 않은데 and if it's with verb: ~지 않는데 It follows the conjugation rule of ~(으)ㄴ데/는데 connective ending! ua-cam.com/video/3G2_M0Q43Vs/v-deo.html
I don't know exactly what kind of books you are looking for, but there are a couple of textbooks that are popular. Korean Grammar in Use, Talk to Me In Korean series, Korean Made Simple, Integrated Korean (used in the U.S. colleges with more linguistic explanations), and 사랑해요 한국어 by SNU. I am making workbooks that go with my videos, so if you think you will like that, stay tuned!
~지만 sounds more formal and often used in written language, and it's not used as a sentence ender for different contexts like ~(으)ㄴ/는데 does! This video is about how ~(으)ㄴ/는데 is used in diverse contexts. For these contexts, you cannot use ~지만. ua-cam.com/video/BZV-5khl1XY/v-deo.html

For the future, you can combine with ~(으)ㄹ 거. 갈 건데 행복하지 않을 거에요. Or you can use the present tense even for the future when it’s definite. 가는데... because you use 않을 거예요 which shows the future anyway. 🙂

그런데 is used in the spoken language but not in formal writings whereas 하지만 is more formal. 그렇지만 sounds the most formal and mostly seen in writings of formal speaking settings!
Yes you can! That is 2 separate sentences: 미국 사람이에요(sentence 1). 근데(which is a shorten form of 그런데: but) 홍콩에 살아요(sentence 2). "I am American. But I live in Hong Kong." When you combine these 2 sentences into 1 complex sentence, you change the verb in the first sentence using this connective ending: 미국 사람인데 홍콩에 살아요. "I am American but live in Hong Kong."

For those examples, you can simply just use 한 시간(1hr), 세 달(3months) too. Or you can add 동안 (during) after the time.

If you take out the ㄹ from 살 and it becomes 사는대, would it they get confused with the word 사 which means to buy?
IIIC, because 사다 is a verb with a final vowel ending, not an adjective, it would be 산데.

Depends. If it comes after adjective: ~지 않은데 and if it's with verb: ~지 않는데
It follows the conjugation rule of ~(으)ㄴ데/는데 connective ending!

I don't know exactly what kind of books you are looking for, but there are a couple of textbooks that are popular. Korean Grammar in Use, Talk to Me In Korean series, Korean Made Simple, Integrated Korean (used in the U.S. colleges with more linguistic explanations), and 사랑해요 한국어 by SNU. I am making workbooks that go with my videos, so if you think you will like that, stay tuned!

What's difference between 지만/는데
~지만 sounds more formal and often used in written language, and it's not used as a sentence ender for different contexts like ~(으)ㄴ/는데 does!

For example, I'll go but I won't be happy. 갈데 행복하지 않을거에요. Is that correct???
For the future, you can combine with ~(으)ㄹ 거. 갈 건데 행복하지 않을 거에요. Or you can use the present tense even for the future when it’s definite. 가는데... because you use 않을 거예요 which shows the future anyway. 🙂

근데 is shortened colloquial form of 그런데! So yes the meaning is the same. 근데 is more casual!
Is there a difference between그런데 and 하지만?
그런데 is used in the spoken language but not in formal writings whereas 하지만 is more formal. 그렇지만 sounds the most formal and mostly seen in writings of formal speaking settings!

Yes you can! That is 2 separate sentences:
미국 사람이에요(sentence 1). 근데(which is a shorten form of 그런데: but) 홍콩에 살아요(sentence 2).
"I am American. But I live in Hong Kong."
When you combine these 2 sentences into 1 complex sentence, you change the verb in the first sentence using this connective ending:
미국 사람인데 홍콩에 살아요. "I am American but live in Hong Kong."
V+(으)ㄴ = V+지만???
The meaning of "however" is the same, yes.
~지만 sounds more formal than ~(으)ㄴ/는데.
~(으)ㄴ/는데 is only used in spoken language, not in formal writings!
