  • Driving a truck doens't come without dangers, in this video we talk about the most deathly things of truck driving.
strap in for a gripping ride as we reveal the darker side of the trucking industry in this eye-opening compilation we'll explore the risks and challenges faced By Truckers every day prepare yourself for a journey into the most dangerous elements of trucking around the globe let's dive into the 10 deadliest trucks of the century truck one Freightliner
Cascadia starting our list is the Freightliner Cascadia a stap on many highways across the country known for its reliability and favored by many trucking companies the Cascadia however has not been without its challenges one of the more critical issues has been with its braking system in trucks having a Dependable brake system is not just a necessity it's a Lifeline let's take a moment to delve into a specific incident that underscores the importance of these safety features it was a foggy morning on Interstate 40 a busy stretch that sees thousands of trucks every day John a seasoned truck driver was behind the wheel of a 2010 Freightliner Cascadia as he descended a gentle slope Traffic Ahead slowed unexpectedly due to a sudden roadblock instinctively Jon hit the brakes but instead of a smooth response he felt a jarring shudder the brakes failed to engage fully leaving him hurdling forward with minimal control the truck skidded for several hundred ft narrow L missing a family sedan before Jack knifing and finally coming to a halt across several Lanes miraculously no one was injured but the incident left a lasting impact on all involved and highlighted a critical flaw in the cascadia's design at the time following several such incidents damler trucks North America the manufacturer of Freightliner trucks initiated a series of comprehensive upgrades focusing on the breaking systems of newer models these upgrades included enhancements to the brake calipers and the introduction of advanced ABS systems that provide better control during sudden stops Additionally the company launched training programs for drivers on handling emergency stops more effectively aiming to prevent such frightening scenarios today's Cascadia models feature these improved safety measures reflecting the lessons learned from past experiences and showing Dam's commitment to Road Safety but the story of John's near Miss remains a stark reminder of the continuous need for vigilance and Improvement in truck safety
Technologies truck two Volvo vnl series next on our list is the Volvo vnl series Volvo is often hailed as a paragon of vehicle safety which makes it all the more critical to address the times when even the safest Brands falter despite Volvo's strong safety reputation the vnl series has faced its own challenges particularly with visibility and breaking two crucial components that ensure a trucker and the public safety on the roads let us recount a harrowing incident that occurred one winter night in 2015 involving a Volvo vnl the truck was a Volvo vnl 670 model which unknown to Michael had an undiagnosed braking system flaw a latent defect waiting for the worst moment to reveal itself as Michael approached a sharp bend a compact car unexpectedly pulled out from a side road reacting swiftly Michael attempted to break but the response was fatally sluggish the brakes delayed engagement and the truck's bulk coupled with poor visibility due to the truck's design around the a pillars made it impossible to maneuver in time the truck collided with the smaller vehicle resulting in a tragic accident that claimed the lives of two passengers in the car this devastating event prompted a rigorous investigation which highlighted the vnl breaking and visibility issues as contributing factors to the accident in response Volvo took immediate steps to address these concerns the company initiated a recall to fix the braking systems in affected models and introduced new design enhancements to improve driver visibility around the truck's pillars these updates were part of a broader effort by Volvo to to enhance the overall safety features of the vnl series ensuring that such a tragedy would not occur again today the newer models of the Volvo vnl series boast improved braking systems and redesigned Cabins For Better visibility demonstrating Volvo's commitment to safety and continuous
Improvement yet the story of that fateful night remains a poignant reminder of why constant vigilance and proactive safety measures are indispensable in the trucking

I drove truck in the Army and had a CDL. Here is what the problem is. Technology. A loaded semi truck does (not) stop like a vehicle. It can't. It takes time to slow them down. Then. They put in the automatic transmission. A manual transmission forces the driver to slow down ahead of time. A automatic transmission doesn't. ABS is a false safety. To this day I can't stand ABS. Technology made people not smarter but dumber. If it's still in the driving manual for a CDL. Look up who far it takes a load semi truck to stop. Why I don't feel sorry for those who cut off any semi truck. The manuals are online. Look it up. People refuse to stay off their cellphones. Google it. The truck drivers should know it. Technology ruined trucking.

@CarlosAlberto-ii1li I mess the old trucks. I love to see them. How I became in love with the Kenworth that led me into the Ford pickup. The long nose. The straight dash. All of the room. Wide inside cab. Why ai can't stand any other pickup even. They make me feel like I am in a box. My 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee is like that. In a seat and that's it. I love the twin stacks. Looking out the mirrors and watching the coal. Truck stops used to smell so good. Until DEF came around. Now they smell like a diry bathroom. The old days were amazing.

In other words, they haven't worked the bugs out of the advanced technology that all the truck manufacturers are utilizing, i could have told you that. When the collision mitigation system on my KW slams on the brakes when it's detects a piece of paper blowing across the highway and my truck refuses to stay in it's own lane when it does this. Not only must we be prepared to counteract the ignorance of other drivers but also the flawed technology of our own vehicles.

THIS NEW SERIES TRUCK HAS AN DASH DISPLAY SCREEN THAT SHOWS GUAGE FUNCTIONS ON THEM, AND THEY ARE TOTAL SHIT!!
I HAD TWO OF THEM WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD BLANK THIS SCREEN OFF COMPLETELY WITHOUT WARNING!
NO FUEL GUAGE OR AIR PRESSURE READINGS
    VISIBLE!
I HAD TO PULL TO SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PLAY WITH AN KNOB TO GET IT BACK!
WHEN IT DID COME BACK THE SCREEN WAS IN AN DIFFERENT MODE, YOU HAD TO LEARN HOW TO INTERPRET DIFFERENTLY!
KEEP THE COMPUTER GEEKS 100 MILES AWAY FROM THE DESIGN OFFICE, AND PUT STANDARD STANDARD ROUND, MECHANICAL PRESSURE GUAGES IN THEM!!

If you drive a truck with automated systems, you are less likely to be fully aware of the environment, eg driving in thick fog ( you can feel insulated from the environment) more so than in manual mode, even then it can be hard to get a grip on what's happening. Been there it's not a lot of fun. Further I have never had to drive in ice or snow total respect to those who do.

i drive a recent cascadia with a collision avoidance system with camera system in the middle of the windshield, the truck panics very easy and jerks the steering wheel from left to right very hard and brakes hard when it decides there's a danger, apparently those are "smart" systems are as smart as the people that built and programmed them, maybe somebody should tell the engineers it's not a good idea to brake hard and steer hard from left to right on slippery roads, the cameras in the windshield has lane departure warning, problem comes when there's road construction, the "smart" system can't figure it out and jerks the steering, there is a bypass switch for the lane departure, but it comes back on automatically every 10 minutes or so, so i constantly monitor and turn off the "smart" system, since i've been driving this truck, witch has been just over a year, i lost control twice and nearly crashed, i got lucky, i'm 6'4" 350LBS, i can lift heavy loads, that steering starts to turn, nothing i can do about it, it is much stronger than me, i started driving tow trucks in '93, got my cdl in '99, i figured another 5 years and it will complete a 30 year career in the trucking industry, i'm hoping i will make it, until then, it's white knuckle driving 'till the end because i been told the technology will only get worst......thank god it's almost over!😟

I'm not sure what this vid is talking about altogether, it is making generalizations up the ying-yang. IE, 579 Pete is a rebadged T680, common chassis, common wiring, common fuel system, some interior cab dressup changed. IF Pete had a fuel system and wiring issue in that regard, they likely both had it We were replacing plastic fuel fttgs on all units, Pete & KW, not just T680, with MX engine, they cracked, we were doing that long before the recall was issued, don't recall seeing any fires being caused, but, it is possible, wasn't an issue in what we saw. Brake systems are designed by Meritor or Bendix, they govern what goes on with the ABS ECM and modulators and how they are programmed and wired and plumbed. They are purchased components for all the truck mfgrs.

    • @christianbutler4684
      @christianbutler4684 18 днів тому +1

What the video is telling you is that all the new technology that they're putting on trucks is actually worthless haven't you been paying attention that to keep making upgrades and the upgrades don't work especially in winter
All you new drivers out here are operating trucks that are actually built to be fully automated you are just test driving trucks That will replace you
The automatic breaking systems they are severely flawed they will break with nothing in front of you for a half mile and they will break hard then you have to deal with the road rage from the a****** behind you who will get in front of you and pray check you and yet when that happens the automatic breaking system doesn't work because the car is too f****** close
The traction control and automated steering assist more b******* that doesn't work either
Even worse than that or all the audible warnings it tells you that you've left the roadway even though you're still on the roadway
Or collision warning when you're exiting the interstate it stinks that you're going to drive right into the bridge pillar once again automatic heartbreaking not a good idea on IC curves on all frap
Another scenario same scenario only going into a construction zone collision warning truck automatically breaks hard next thing you know you're getting rear-ended these f****** trucks are dangerous people my age and older we don't like them
And the federal motor Carrier safety administration had rules and regulations about harassment
So going down the road having these audible alarms go off all the time for nobodies whatsoever or if you're 2 miles an hour over the speed limit it is f****** annoying and I'd rather not be annoyed while I'm working
Because history is shown that when people sometimes get overly annoyed at work they go postal
And if you don't know what going post means you should probably look it up
So in short what they're telling you the new trucks are the most dangerous things the trucking industry and manufacturers Have ever put on the road
But all you knew drivers you like these automatic trucks you don't know anything about driving and more than half of you can't even drive a manual transmission
And that's literal that's not coming from me that's coming from people who actually own the d*** trucks most of you can even drive a 13 speed or an 18 speed and almost none of you can drive twin sticks
The only reason half you f****** are out here because of truck driving school
And those were implemented to fill jobs so the politicians can say the job market has had a exceptional growth this quarter
More than half of you retards don't even need to be out here I know because I'm following you young people around and you're pulling trailers that don't even have brakes and then I gotta sit 42 f****** days because you f****** are too stupid to do your f****** job
So you young people are the reason we got all these added safety features that don't really work you young people are the reason they want automated trucks aside from greed that's another reason you orders there so things see the technology works but you don't know that that's what's taking place
So the videos telling you the most dangerous trucks ever manufactured ever put on a road and the fact that you had to ask what the video was about makes you dumb s***

Is there enough metadata to determine which make and model has been the most accident-prone regardless of its popularity?
    Example:
Afc = Freightliner Cascadia accidents in the USA
Sfc = Freightliner Cascadia sales in the USA
Afc/Sfc x 100 (percentage of accidents per sales)
What about comparing other factors such as automatic/automated versus manual?

Automatic transmission should have never been put in them , if you can't drive a stick you shouldn't have a cdl period!!! 2nd thing is the more tech put into rigs the less the companies pay ,no matter how much tech is in trucks its the driver that gets the shaft ,inexperienced drivers are biggest problem out here and cheap wages , remember you get what you pay for low wage inexperienced = hi insurance, cargo claims ,loss of truck and being sued by civilian inattentive drivers on cell phones

    @Beauxtrux 23 години тому

I just retired after 50+ years in transportation, first as a driver, then management. While there are some tech areas that might be at fault, 99.99% of most issues begin and end with either bad maintenance or the driver. I PERSONALLY have been in a loaded 78k ABS equipped semi where the front tire just exploded at 65 and got it stopped. I also had an ABS failure coming down 17 mile hill south of Flagstaff AZ and also got it stopped. There's a lot of stuff you can't see but also a lot you can, and if a detailed pre-trip is not done, the driver is just being stupid.

This video is just telling people what I've been telling everyone for the longest time
All the new added safety features and technology is worthless it's actually made the equipment much more dangerous
And as far as competent drivers there aren't that many left out Here
At least twice a week WhereI work and I work for a major company who's been around longer than most of 'Em
I find trailers that have brakes disbreaks mind you that are metal on metal Where the calipers pins have been extended so far that we can even cage the brakes to move it to get it to a repair shop
And regular drum brakes I find them hanging Outside of the drum
Slack adjusters to you go to adjusting them they fall right back down they don't even touch the drum they don't bottom out anymore these are the kind of drivers that we have on the road
Congress implemented truck driving schools so that you put any balloon head that can hold a f****** steering wheel in the seat
So they get to say our quarterly job growth was exceptional this quarter
Which is b*******.. this isn't a job this is a lifestyle this is a way of life
If you want a job or a paycheck go to a factory go back to what you came from we don't need you out here
You are the reason for all of these unsafe automated safety features on the trucks That don't work Worth A s***
Not to mention there's a lot women they got out here.. get on their knees to blow you off but they won't get on their knees to earn a decent living or make sure that their equipment is safe enough to go down the road
As far as I'm concerned anybody that came out here after 2015 needs to go back to where you came from
Because you're incompetent you don't have the skills or the fortitude to do your vehicle inspection you don't belong out here and neither do these new trucks...
