  • @nakibo

    It feels good to see a video with a woman who actually has 4c hair. I've always been disappointed when some natural ladies on UA-cam use false advertisement and say that they are 4c when they're really more like 4a. This came out great.

    Your hair is exactly like mine! Usually, when people section their hair into four parts, they just leave it at that and go about their day, but us 4c girls know that's not about to work on our shrunken wet hair lol. It takes forever, but the results are worth it 😉 great video!!

      i found to stretch my hair the best is doing a twist out on dry hair. my 4b 4c hair has crazy shrinkage but if I do it on dry hair and use a small amount of curl enhancer it comes out big longer n prettier. also i twist my hair each night for more definition

    I was just on Instagram and I saw your photo being used in a meme depicting a woman with type 3 hair above with the caption “how other people’s twist outs come out” and below a picture of you with your hair which looked to be freshly washed and dried with the caption “how mine turns out”
    The page deleted it very quickly as people started to comment but I’m pretty ashamed especially since it was a page dedicated to natural hair
    I’m sorry but I had to say something
    Because I’m tired of feeling like I have to explain my hair so people can understand how to like it instead of just liking it
    Your hair is beautiful and I’m glad I get to see someone with a texture like mine on UA-cam spreading knowledge about our hair
    This is a process of self love for some
    It’s not “just hair for us”

    • @kbmaria
      @kbmaria  6 років тому +2

      Yes, I'm aware of the meme using a "before" screenshot from one of my videos I posted here. It is posted a lot of places but I just kindly direct everyone to my channel to provide assistance on how to style and care for type 4 hair. I can't help what people do with my images but I hope to provide some guidance here because I used to have a hard time with my hair when I transitioned. It's all love over here! Thanks for letting me know!

    • @adavi650
      @adavi650 5 років тому +3

      @@palasse1 gels are great for twist or braid out but using a paste or wax on the roots helps 4c hair shrink less. Gel has moisture where paste and waxes don't so you don't get as much shrinkage..plus shingling after shampooing or drenching the hair turns out just as cute..just apply a moisturizer so hair doesn't dry and break then add wax or paste to the roots followed by any type of gel and start shingling one section at a time...after shingling you can pull your hair into sections and African twist which stretches and elongated your shingles/ hair. Shingles are better and less work than two strand twist..good luck and enjoy and embrace your natural hair you were born with.

    I think i found my hair twin! but I have a question, if I wash my hair and condition it it shrinks like shrinks , so when ever I twist my hair after I wash it then untwist it the next day it still has that shrinkage, and i hate it🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾,now I have an huge head so I like to hide my forehead with a bang, so I usually make small twist on my head and it looks cute but it shrinks🙄 so for the couple past weeks I've been blow drying my hair than twisting it because I've gotten tired of the shrinkage and the short bang🙄 it still has that shrinkage idk what to do,I'll be on UA-cam looking at these other women having beautiful long natural hair that can have a bang and then there's me struggling 💀💀 rn my hair is blowed out and I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do to it for school because I want a medium cute Afro with a bang just like urs, because ik I have ur hair type!!!!can u please help me I'm struggling over here girl 📖😐

      You can also take a gel product after applying a moisturizer and shingle your hair turns out really cute and eventually after it naturally dries a day later after shingling you can grab bigger sections an African twist them for added length or stretch . Gels have water moisture which shrinks hair somewhat but paste and waxes keep 4c hair elongated more..like on the roots of hair.

    Pretty hair! I have 4c hair & I can't get a successful twist out for anythingggg! lol I do two strand twists & all but it never falls the way I want it to or has that much curl definition. I'm gonna try this technique.

    my 5 yr old has the same hair type but everytime I do a twist out on her it looks great in the morning but by midday it looks dry and matted. It don't look cute anymore.

      Is she playing outside and sweating? That's probably why. My hair doesn't stand a chance in the heat. I have to re-twist it when I work out or it will fluff back into a ball and lose its definition. Maybe try some more control paste or gel when you twist the damp hair. Hope this helps!

    You're hair looks great! I tried this and it was an absolute disaster! Lol. My hair shrunk almost to a TWA and was soo stiff!!!. I'm just gonna stick to my blow outs, and twist after I blow out. That is the only thing that works.
