To add, after the successful Pueblo Revolt on the Hopi mesas, all villages went back to their normal Hopi way of life. When the Spanish returned, only one village was welcoming to the missionaries return: Awatovi. Awatovi was one of the oldest Hopi villages and one of the biggest. The other surrounding Hopi villages saw that the people of Awatovi were going against the Hopi way of life, they were going to church and incorporating the Bible in the kiva. While the priests returned to Santa Fe in the winter of 1699, chiefs from Walpi, Shungopavi, Mishungnovi, and Oraibi gathered warriors from their villages, and during one of the winter men's ceremonies, while the Awatovi men were in the kiva, the warriors attacked. They pulled the ladders up from the kivas and threw dried up chili into the kivas, then lighting a fire and covering up the only opening trapping the men inside, suffocating them. The women and children that were kept alive were then disbursed amongst the villages that were apart of this. When the Spanish returned in the spring of 1700 the village wasn't there anymore. Because of this act committed by their own people, the Hopi were able to hold on to their ancient religion without any outside influence which is still heavily practiced today. The church never got a hold of Hopi until fairly recently when Hopi people willingly started going, within the past 50 years.

I like to think 8/10/1680 was also the birth date of the Comanche Nation. Granted the Comanche had technically existed before, and were beginning their migration southward, they did so largely without horses. They probably were able to get one or 2 as a result of theft/war from Apaches early on, but not enough to substantially remake them into what they would become. Since Pueblo Indian life omitted the use of horses for survival, I doubt it's far fetched to say the horses that were let loose in the aftermath of the Revolt had a rendezvous with history.

Your click bait photo is in gross error. Not one single pueblo warrior wore a war bonnet during that revolt. The war bonnet is unique to the plains tribes.

@@soulcalsaga Well, the Native Americans themselves had added to the confusion. NEarly every tribe now wears the bonnet. It has become their defacto symbol. The Santa Clara Pueblo has the Commanche Dance where several of the male dancers wear bonnets. Men from Taos Pueblo braid their hair similar to the plains men.

Why the bogus thumbnail Pic? Attempting to depict the event in a way to get attention.
Potential viewers must be cajoled with nonsense?

I am proud to say, the Vietnam War was for this exact purpose. Our people, Vietnam fought the invading Americans in order to restore peace to the whole country and torebel against invaders unfit for taking over.

Nature can be wonderful if we treated fair. What are you Catholic ! you didn’t mention the castle in downtown Santa Fe now call cathedral and why it was built. And the ruthless behavior of a monks . What was the name of Santa Fe before they changed it ? Does anyone know.. lots of years have passed. Too much of your story is missing , you need to do more research. Thanks for the small light .
