20 years ago I traveled all over AZ NM, CO, UT to most of ancient sites, cliff dwellings, they call them. I also journeyed to Chaco not knowing what to expect. It was a long drive. I got there and found myself alone. A very strange feeling came over me. I cannot explain it. I wandered through the ruins into the Kivas feeling like the ancients were nothing like us, that we do not know what the cliff dwellings really were and why they were so isolated...it remains a mystery to me. But this wonderful speaker gave me some real knowledge. Thank you!

Thank you Grandfather Wally. We are learning so much more from our indigenous oral history than we do from academic archeology. I just returned from the steppe pyramids of the Guachimontones in Jalisco, Mexico. I used to do the drive through the desert in the north to get there where there are some ruins called “La Zona Quemada.” The recurring theme was there was a great drought in the Yucatan and northern Mexico around 800 years ago. Worshipping the “darkness” or underground, human sacrifice all describe many of the ancient cultures in Mexico during this time. I went to Mesa Verde and hiked Grand Gulch in the late 1980s. A friend of a friend was working an internship with archeologists and the Park Service at Mesa Verde and we were able to stay at her cabin. The Park Service raved about the structures and ancient culture in their talks, but the intern said the few Navaho crew members had an entirely different opinion. They thought the place was evil, especially at night, and the worst thing for them is if they heard the sound of a flute at night in these ruins - Mesa Verde and Chaco. Cannibal flute player.
Mesa Verde was a place where Lengyom/Lenwungwa (flute people/flute clan) lived for a while so it's more likely that it's their spirits. I am part of that clan and in most stories Mesa Verde is mentioned. In our ceremony that shows our travels they specifically mention it as a significant place for the clan and our history. The sound of the flute is what we use to call for rain and in Hopi we believe the dead live in reverse so for them night is day so they could be calling for rain or going about their normal activities as a clan.

Thank you so much for this knowledge and teaching. To my thinking, this makes so much sense. I am grateful to you, Grandfather, and the old ones who taught you. I am grateful for everyone's comments. Thank you.
Now I understand how the knowledge was passed down without being changed. The way he described was very carefully worded to prevent changes in the oral history as it is passed down.
It is said that oral history is the most accurate, and the best way to preserve history and information. Books perish, UA-cam will perish, but as long as the people and culture continue, the information will stay alive. In India, it's thought the Rig Vedas were told orally for many many thousands of years before it was written down many thousands of years ago..
"we traded with them even though they were such a different people." There are so many valuable teachings in this one thing alone. Not to mention all the other amazing wisdoms you've shared with us. Thank you!
The colourful birds are common in all tropical rainforests, including the one you showed. lorikeets, parakeets, guacamayas and many others. Again thank you for this amazing history and culture lesson
The timing of this video is further proof of creator. I am beginning to be a tour guide at chimney rock and everyone gets so much wrong. I can use this to correct some assumptions made by the anthropologists. Miigwetch from the metis people.
I find it interesting that slavery was a learned behavior. And that those who wanted to keep slaves moved away from the people. Thank you for sharing a part of your culture with us. 😊
A former girlfriend of mine is occasionally in contact with the dead. As a child she took a trip with her family to Chaco canyon, she said she was about 8 years old at the time. She gtold me a great detailed story about how she refused to get out of the car in the parking lot of The Visitor Center at Chaco Canyon because of what she was seeing and her family did not believe her but she recalls that she ruined the trip for everybody by refusing to step foot in that area.😅
If you ever go to Chaco look at all the small kivas they look like jail cells,my father’s family is from lake valley near there,we were warned about going there when we were young by our grandparents. They said way way way back then “Don’t go to Chaco unless you want to be a Navajo Taco”
I need to find it again, but not long ago I saw another channel where an archeologist theorized that based on some artifacts and signs of ritual cannibalism someone on Chaco was possibly related to the Toltec (Aztec) culture. The different building styles collocated may have been due to the use of slaves to do the building work. We need more of this kind of work if we want to really know the past.
Thank You Wally for expanding your discussion about the Anazasi people, very informative I have watched some videos from archeologist concerning them, much hypothesis from them about this dark tribe to hear your perspective is greatly appreciated. Like always your mature wise understanding is necessary for us all to have clarification separating the Russian references between the ancient peoples and what consist of the truth you reveal orally as was done for so long. Thank you again .
#2. Wally, just before my time in the late 70s, my uncles best friend found a sealed clay pot in a treacherous lava vent cave, a stones throw west of the Rio Grande valley/canyon. This clay pot was dated to be over 600 years old, x-rayed and found to contain a parrots feather within it. Im sure there is literature published somewhere about it, as its a story that i was told as a child and remember the significance and likelihood. Your mention of trade feathers reminded me. Thank you brother, for your inspiration and your passion for an honorable journey is acknowledged.
Look into the anunnaki stories there are similarities a there was two groups an they was from above an they could look like us an like the spider woman sound like inanna
So the Anazazii based on what my grandparents told me, which is the Apache version, is that these were in fact an invasion post from the "old empire" . Judging from the time period, this was during either Toltec, or Mayan during the last period before colapse. The Apaches before they were called "Apache" since they are cousins to Dinay, Ndee' which means the same thing... the people, banned together to drive them out, and block what is now called Eagle Pass. So it is very likely, this corridoor contains articfacts in the ground during that war. It would lead to the Corn Trail Treaty, one of many that were signed by the Apache, Dine', the Lakota, Dakota, and Iroquios ( Anishinaabe) with a wampam of corn and a thunderbird. It is very likely that peace terms with the first Corn Trail Treaty is how corn originally proliferated into Northern America, and probably this type of trade started some 4000 - 2000 years ago. The Cohokia mound does look similar to mayan temples and may have been a cross-roads mix of both Northern and Meso-American influence before the final collapse and the purge.
Finally!!!An explanation of the Anasazi, where they came from and what happened to them that also accords with the research of modern anthropologists!!!!! They destroyed themselves!!!!!
Thank you, Grandfather. Your words are greatly appreciated. I am only 16% American Indian, not sure of my tribe, but my grandmother told me her great grandfather was a prince of his tribe. I live in North Florida, so possibly Seminole, but Creet sounds more likely, though I feel closer to Cherokee. We've all been mixed up from location and thrown into different cultures to suppress our origins. I am 78 now, but always wanted to be taught by a Shaman. I think soon we will be free from these dark ones, and we will regain our memories. Then I will revisit these tribes, for you habe much to teach us. Aho! I love you! Namaste!
Another great teaching from grandpa Wally , amazing similarities with everything that we are learning now about different civilizations and groups, many not so human or with earthly origins and how there’s a light and dark side and opposite to everything we know. Thanks again Wally for sharing this knowledge with us. Peace and love 💗

Fascinating presentation! When you spoke of Night and Darkness and the fact that the Anasazi came from the south the name Tezcatlipoca popped into my head. He was the god of night, darkness and sorcery. But also of rulers. Some think originally Tolteca? Maybe the Anasazi were a breakaway group of Tolteca? Or their Azteca wannabes???? His other name was Smoking Mirror

Though I am a White man I used to live on the Navajo Reservation Line in the Flagstaff area near Sunset Crater and S.Sheba and I have Navajo and Hopi Brothers from there as well as an Apache Brother and I highly respect your ways and beliefs!. You mean the Christian religion that was directly involved in stripping the Native Americans of their culture, spirituality, land, and lives, then forced the conquered survivors to convert to their religion, and forced their children into church-run, Indian Boarding schools across the U.S. in the 19th and 20th centuries? Where, after the Indian children were forcibly abducted by government agents, they were sent to schools hundreds of miles away, and beaten, starved, or otherwise abused when they spoke their Native languages? Yeah.....thank you so much for sharing the teachings of Jesus and the Bible with our indigenous brothers whose communities have flourished so much from your kindness and generosity....... It's so weird that Christianity is banished from most reservations now. I wonder why that is?
@repealthepatriotact it was the tyrants of that religion that did that. It wasn't the religion itself. (Which is the total opposite of what the bad guys did).
@@umarae27 No, it was the entire religion- the top leaders all the way down to the nuns, priests, pastors, and even congregation members. And not just here, but all over the world for 80% of the time Christianity has existed. Have you ever read an actual history book about the Catholic and Protestant church's actions over the last 1500 years?? It's nonstop destruction, forced conversion, and murder of the native population wherever they went. Mexico, the Philippines, North America, South America, Ireland, Scotland, the Middle East, Australia, Hawaii, Africa, the entire European continent. China and Japan they couldn't because they were too heavily armed and didn't allow foreign immigration until the last few decades.
@@umarae27 I don't think you realize that the sole purpose of religion is to control the population in every way at all levels for the socio-political expediency of those who hold the most power of a nation. The most peaceful and happiest countries in the world are 80% atheist and where religious laws are banned. The most economically-poor countries with the highest murder rates, sexual assaults on women, lowest education levels, and shortest lifespans are the countries run by religious politicians, religions(the Middle East), and/or religious laws.

Love is not of self.... Love is of others than yourself.....
Family is yourself… your people are the family that is….
Also... Truth is not of you...
You sir.. are amazing
I know God walks with you.
"Love" is realizing others are you.
I come from a people that did not know better…
Thank you so much for this knowledge and teaching. To my thinking, this makes so much sense. I am grateful to you, Grandfather, and the old ones who taught you. I am grateful for everyone's comments. Thank you.
What my eyes saw at four corners says that you speak the truth more than the one I was taught by so-called western experts.
Thank you, teacher.
Thank you for your wisdom of the ancient ancestors. I love hearing the stories and they never including the spoken languages should be forgotten.
Thank you once again for sharing these priceless teachings. Such wisdom is needed and much appreciated.
"we traded with them even though they were such a different people." There are so many valuable teachings in this one thing alone. Not to mention all the other amazing wisdoms you've shared with us. Thank you!
May the creator bless and protect you and your people forever.🌼
The colourful birds are common in all tropical rainforests, including the one you showed. lorikeets, parakeets, guacamayas and many others. Again thank you for this amazing history and culture lesson
Keep your culture and language. I find it beautiful.
Your teachings of your history is greatly appreciated, thank you many times over!
Much love with compassion Honor and Equality with harmony forall lifein the evolving creation 😊❤️✨
Thank you for sharing your wisdom.
I love this perspective of history. l look forward to the release of these videos, never leave empty handed.
Thank you Mr. Brown AND Shane!
Thank you Chief Wally for this historical teaching!
Thank you for clearing up this information for me🧐!
We are all connected to every living thing. Our spirit is one with our Creator.
This channel is awesome. This is incredible oral history content and it's a real treat to have access to it.
Grateful for your Great and valuable wisdom, Grandfather. 🌈 🙏 🪽
Please put this wisdom in a book for future generations.
Wonderful presentation,truly
God bless
When I hear this great man of wisdom speak, I can only think how great a nation we would be if we had a president like this wonderful man..
This is very enlightening. Very much. More please. Thank You.
Thank you so much elder.
Fascinating I love hearing these stories.😁💥
Trade existed between the Anasazi and the who lived in what is now Mexico.
Whenever I miss Arizona I listen to this elder! I wish I knew more díné language.
Thank you sir for a fascinating presentation on a subject of interest. And hand salute to a Marine Corp vet.
Thank you very much for shining light into the proper root definition of the word Anasazi. I was apparently thought incorrectly long ago......🙏
Look into the anunnaki stories there are similarities a there was two groups an they was from above an they could look like us an like the spider woman sound like inanna
The two brothers in hopi kachina prophecy sound like enki and enlil an they went to war over humans
Thank you for giving the words and teachings of the Dine. It can be passed on to correct false notions and history be preserved
Aho! I love you! Namaste!
Thank you Wally and company for putting the truth out for us all to see. It’s not always an easy thing but it’s worth it.
Thank you for sharing the history of the people. For generations to come.
😢😢😢 it was very sad! Thank you for sharing Truths! I live out here on the edge of your Nation. I interact with your people daily and just love ❤ your teachings! You are a blessing for us all!
Ah'héh'heh che'íí, love your great teaching of the Navajo ways. Blessings be with you and your family from the Holy Ones...
Thank you for your sharing !. Though I am a White man I used to live on the Navajo Reservation Line in the Flagstaff area near Sunset Crater and S.Sheba and I have Navajo and Hopi Brothers from there as well as an Apache Brother and I highly respect your ways and beliefs!. GOD BLESS ALL OF THE PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD
It would be nice to hear about our ancient grandmother...
Feeling extremely apart...thank you for bringing story...
Thank you for all your help teaching us anglos about your ancestors very interesting 😊❤
Pheeling Blessed with a deeper understanding of the great past 🙌🏼❤️🕊️🙏🏼😇✌🏼
Thank you 🙏🏼
💜💫Gratitude💫💜
i enjoy hearing your language.
Thank you, Uncle Wally for another lesson.
The story I heard growing was "The People That Write on the Rock".. Amazing story's of living, and after life.
Thank you for sharing your history and wisdom
Much appreciated
This was by far a discussion that I enjoyed as it seems to totally blend in with the teachings of Jesus and the Bible. Thank you. 🪶🙏
Please read up on this, it will really open your mind. It might even break the grip of whoever has convinced you that religion is a force for good in this world.
@@repealthepatriotactI think that the Christians treated Native people badly but which reservations have banned Christianity?
I enjoy what you teach us.
The very first time I erev heard of the Anasazi was in a Romance Novel I read back in the early 90s called "She Who Remembers" written by author Linda Lay Shuler. That was a really great book!
Thank you so much Grandfather Wally and Shane for giving us this wisdom and information that we cannot get anywhere else..The Park Rangers have made up stories of what they say happened but they do not know..They don't have the rich history of the Dine' going back hundreds and thousands of years nor the wisdom of the old people and the holy people. Thank you for this great historical video..that we are blessed enough to see.
The descendants of the people who lived in Mesa Verde have another story.
Thank you for preserving the teachings of the wisdom keepers
Thank you . I learn so much from you and your videos.❤❤❤❤❤
There were parrots in Chaco Canyon. In fact, some of the birds bred in Chaco Canyon had deformities from not getting enough light (due to being in a room deep within a pueblo with little to natural light).
Your teachings are informative and interesting thankyou for sharing all information ❤
Thank you for sharing ✌🏽💖🤟🏼✨️🧚♂️
Thank you for sharing this story !
Love this information❤thank you for sharing ❤
In a recent visit to Di’ne area I was told a story by a native woman. She talked about a man from the south with six fingers who came north bringing with him bad influences such as drugs, gambling and worse. She said it was at that time that many people moved into the cliffs. Such a complicated history.
I enjoyed this information. Thank you for sharing.

Appreciate your teaching .

Very fascinating learning experience about Anasazi tribes.
