- In Episode 341 Jeff Belanger and Ray Auger grab a drink at the Captain’s Well in Amesbury, Massachusetts. In 1792, future Captain Valentine Bagley was marooned in a desolate part of Arabia. Out of his ship’s crew of 25, only eight survived the ordeal. Bagley swore to God if he should live, he would go home and dig a well for all so no one will suffer thirst like he did. #newenglandlegends

Another great legend guys, thanks. The things we all take for granted (water), really makes one think. Thanks again, be well guys.
First off thank for another great legend. All the hard work, you do is appreciated. Tremendous! My wife and I are playing a trip, to see how many we can get to see. Living in New England almost all my life, never knew half of them. After you guys do the legend, I take away knowing more. Keep up the great work.
Hello Jeff belanger
This is just a 5 minute walk from where I live. If he had known about this story, I'm sure Sumuel Adams Drake would've included it in his compendium "A Book of New England Legends and Folk lore". Side note: That book is also how I came across one of my favorite new (to me) short stories entitled "Peter Rugg: The Missing Man" a short ghost story penned by William Austin in 1825.
