  • Hey Guys! Last week, I helped decorate at a networking event in DC. Even though I loved the decorations, I noticed that a lot of sunlight was shining through my backdrop. In this video, I added a cover to the back of it and discussed how I add weights to the stand for my events.

    Hi Loniel, me and my business partner used our green wall with balloons around it for a pool party recently, but the balloons popped because it was in the sun.
    In your experience what balloons work well for outdoors? The balloon we used were Gemar.

    • @YesEventDecor
      @YesEventDecor  3 роки тому +2

      You know what?! I feel like I have to do a video on this. I’ve never had balloons pop in the sun. Maybe it’s not hot enough here. 🤔 I use Qualatex, Tuftex, and Sempertex.

      Hi Kayla this recently happened to us this summer, Worst feeling ever.. It was the same brand Gemar. We did two setups that day in the sun, one with qualatex and the other was Gemar. We always use qualatex, betalatex, tuftex but we tried Gemar because its a newer brand here in Texas as well. It was hot and over 94 degrees that day. The qualatex lost one balloon which was touching the grass and was a risk. The Gemar balloon garland lost almost the whole garland. Luckily we had enough time to go back and re do the whole garland right before the event. I learned that day, Gemar has nice colors and good shape but are not made for Texas heat. We stick to Tuftex or qualatex if its outdoors now. I would and have used Gemar indoors, they have great vibrant colors and nice round shape. But outdoors in Texas heat it is a big risk. Just was looking at the comments and saw yours pop out because that is definitely a tough situation and wanted to let you know my experience with Gemar. I think there good balloons but not for Texas heat. Love your channel Event Decor and more.

      I just roll it up and put it in my storage unit.

      One more silly question.. do you cut the zip ties off the pole each time or leave them loose enough to slip on and off?

      I’m sorry! I didn’t see this question. I actually keep the top pole of the backdrop stand attached to my boxwood backdrop. So I just roll it up and keep it in my storage unit like that.
      But I can do that because I have multiple backdrop stands in my inventory. When I only had one stand, I would cut the zip ties off after each event.
