This video appears to show pulling once heated which is the entire problem. Hmmm. In this video, it appears the vinyl has tension lines all through it as it's being stretched a second time. My observation would be to pre stretch it, heated and let it fall over the edges of the mirror.
If this is the pre stretch method, then why do you stretch it even further after you apply it? This isn't how I practice the technique, the material is supposed to shrink back onto the mirror and take on the new shape.
I guess he missundestood the pre-strech technique. He was supposed to heat film and simultanusly fit into place as it shrinks, not to stretch it even more...
Andrey500SWE That's not pre-stretching...that's stretching. As you can see, it worked perfectly. Btw, Marcio is not only a certified 3M installer, he is a 3M employee at it's headquarters. I've spoken to him several times on the phone. Believe me, he knows what he's doing.
I'm quite familiar with the pre stretch technique and what is demonstrated in this video is not it. I teach wrapping and have demonstrated it many times. You pre stretch the film, even mimic the shape of the mirror and place it over the top, then apply heat and no more stretch, the film will then shrink onto the mirror. With no stress or tension remaining.
Pete Wright Hmmm....what you describe certainly makes sense. I've used Marcio's technique with carbon fiber film and it works, especially with not distorting the pattern. Maybe they are just two pre stretching techniques??
Finally a short, concise wrap tip that gets to the point and isn't 25 minutes long. Like that CK guy
Ck is the king of this game
CK is the best. If you can’t invest your time to listen to “Valuable” well informed information , then you shouldn’t wrap your car
Is all about patience
Thanks for the content. I'm wrapping my scooter in 3m matte black
I’m high and thought he was going to wrap the WINDOW this whole time.....
😀😀😀😀😀
That was interesting in how you pre heated it and stretched it ...Thank You for posting that ...
yea let's see how its holding up in summer around the edges lol it will automictically peal off by the sun heat.
Can I do this technique with calendar vinyl?
ya make it looks easy - ive spent hours on one mirror and still looks like ass
Ducking amazing

Thanks for sharing. i love you
"The film will begin to shrink" *Stretches wrap*
Robert Stanton Just realized that 😂😂
Yep

He's pulling it while warm to get the wrinkles out and and when it cools it goes back.

Regarding carbon fiber though??? Stretching that much will distort the pattern
Super
wait so do you put the wrap on while it is stretched or you wait for it to cool down, then put it on the mirror
Job is not done yet!!! What about the bottom part ?? If u wanna show us show good
The mirror gets "fingered" 😂🤣😂🤣😂
hmm where can i buy this ?
cant we just use monomeric film instead of streaching cast
Why wear a tool belt and risk scratching a car?
Marcio is a 3M employee and does this for a living so I think he's managed to use his belt without damaging vehicles.
Exactly why I don't wear a tool belt when installing haha
