As someone who has played the entire Zelda series, I'd like to note that Onox's dragon form is one of the hardest Zelda bosses of all. He's even tougher than most of the bosses from the infamously difficult Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
His 2nd form I noticed is very similar to Sigma's 2nd form from MMX, which makes sense since this game was also made by Capcom. This fight is way more frustrating though because you have to hit him with a tiny ass sword as opposed to a buster gun, which is harder than it looks. I could never get the timing right for the last hit as a kid and therefore just kept dying over and over (and raging, HARD) I swear, I screamed with joy when I finally beat him
It also reminds me of Sardius from super ghouls n ghosts where he shoots those platform things out of his waist I guess capcom has a thing for this kinda boss setup eh Seven years late to the party I know but still
that reminds me i believe megaman xtreme 2 had some inspiration from the oracle games since it also has 2 seperate final bosses. after beating them both you get to unlock a true final boss
You get the level 2 sword after completing the trading sequence in the game, I think the last item is phonograph, and you give it to a deku scrub in the area before level 6, right before that maze.
This is easily one of the best games ever released for the gameboy color. If only Onox wasn't so hard to beat. I also wish I'd known to start Seasons AFTER I'd beaten Ages. -_- Oh well. C'est la vie!
kroakie4 I know it’s a late response but the games were actually designed to be sequels to which ever one you played first. So you can actually play ages first and then seasons, or you can play seasons first and then ages. Either way you get different experiences. So it doesn’t matter which one you play first =D
@@l4dinfected1 Late response, but I think they were referring to the linked game mechanic. Because Seasons has more difficult fights, you can beat Ages first (which is more puzzle oriented, so guides make it super easy) then get really good gear (that is unavailable in a vanilla playthrough) before Onox.
I found that out the hard way too. I played Seasons first and then linked up to Ages. I find it easier to to it the other way around because Veran is pretty easy and Onox goes down faster with the Master Sword. Plus, Twinrova and Ganon are a little easier to fight with the Roc's Cape because you can hover over a lot of their attacks. I hope these get remade for Switch. Link's Awakening's remake is amazing, and I know these games would be too.
It was always epic seeing Din and Nayru combining their power! I always wondered if Din was part a Gerudo Hylian hybrid. Its the pointed ears, red hair, tanned skin and hairstyle.
The blue flames can also be dodged by taking just a step left or right when his mouth opens. It's anticipating your location so stop and it'll pass on the side. Step back and repeat. Basically it's an intercepting attack.
2:21 You can avoid the damage of the sweeping hand just using your shield. If you just aim your shield towards the hand and stay still, you'll not be harmed.
Interesting trivia: Onox's final form is an allusion to Mega Man X1. That form is quite similar to Sigma's final form from that game. Also, the same strategy applies in that game as well.
I was in 5th grade when The Ring was out in theaters. I saw the movie, and stayed up all night playing Oracle of Seasons on my Gameboy Color because I was so terrified of that movie. Me and my brothers kept our light on the whole night and never went to sleep lol, and I played this game 8 hours straight until the sun rose over the horizon. Anyone else have a similar experience?
You know for Onix's final form, you don't have to spin attack the jewel. You can just slash at it while you float from hand to hand. You can do this two or three times. I managed to do it without a potion this way.
Was the 1st Zelda game I ever played and when I first encountered that final form, I couldnt finish him off. I tried it like 60 different times, but I couldnt beat him. I was so pissed, that I didnt play the game for 2 weeks. After those 2 weeks I started playing it again and I managed to defeat him on the 1st try without losing any hearts xD Those are epic Zelda memories !! Thanks for them!!
Wow... this guy used to be so hard to me but I just beat him with lvl 2 sword, red ring, no potion and losing 4 hearts (after both 2nd and 1st form)... 1st form is so easy just stay diagonal to him and do charged attacks. For the last form just take a step after each of his fire, hide in the corner when he tries to do the claw swipe and spam fire balls. Then just hop on his claw and do charged hit on his head a few times. I can't believe I thought he was so hard before.
I've bin searching for an answer all over the internet and never found an answer but is their a particular reason why there are no bottles in the oracle games or Link's Awakening?
they came out at the same exact time you can play the games in any order. if you beat one game you can start the next game playing it as a sequal where you fight Twinrova and Ganon in the end
@marshmellowhobo No, this was made after OoT. I know for sure because I had an N64 before I had a Game Boy Color and I wondered how they had resurrected Twinrova after she/they died in OoT.
how come i can nerver beat him how i have the noble sword have the lvl 2 power ring and have all but one heart and i still cant beat onox dragon form where do i get the master sword i already beat oracle of ages
you have to complete the trading sequence for one of the upgrades...well, in seasons, you can just get it, but completeing the trading sequence tells you how... the other upgrade is done with one of the linked game "secrets"... obtaining one upgrades gives you l-2, and both upgrades nabs you l-3, it doesn't matter which order you do them in though....
Originally, she was going to have one, I dont remember what its called (seed of life or something) But it was canceled for unknown reasons, you can look up on google "3rd oracle zelda game" and it should come up
This i think will be the only Zelda game I can’t finish. Keep in mind I beat Zelda II, but fuck Onox. Oh what, fireballs that you sometimes can’t avoid, on top of it being long and drawn out? Sounds like a fun time to me
Ahahaha god memories, and a great fight. I remember beating him without using the rod of seasons, I can say I wasn't very happy when I beat him after about 50 tries and then someone told me you could use the rod to repel Din xD Beat him with the lv.2 sword, the lv.2 shield, a potion and a heart ring (slowly refills your hearts).
Lol yeah I didn't realize this either. I ended up just eating the damage to get 2 hits off on his second form, easier than trying to dodge his attacks a million times and hope for an opening (randomly Din will lag beyond you and you can hit him without hitting her)
@marshmellowhobo Well, uh, technically, that's not right, because even when not counting the CDi Games, this was the 6th or 7th Game. TLoZ(Nes), TLoZ2 - Adventure of Link (Nes), TLoZ: Link to the Past, Link's Awakening (GB), Ocarina of Time (N64), Oracle of Seasons/Ages, Majora's Mask...
The ice ring might be useful for twinrova, but the game can be beat without rings perfectly fine. The time it takes to farm for rings is the same time invested in shoveling for rupees and buying a health potion off maple's store.
Man, I've been trying all morning to beat this guy for the 1st time. I never thought of using the spin attack in the air. I'll try it but I would imagine it'd be harder to hit. And I only have a lvl 2 sword.

I found this boss to be rather challenging lol I kept missing his damn weak spot!
So... After the release of the switch port (and remake) of Link's awakening...
*ONOX SHALL RISE AGAIN FROM THE ASHES!!*
Switch port? I didnt see it in the e shop on the switch
@@clubsnatcher mm it was a remake actually but still it's like a switch port but better
??? This is oracle of seasons not links awakening.
@@kylel8518 nah nah what i mean is that since link's awakening got remastered this hints at Oracle of Seasons and Ages will get remastered
@@garrysucks4190 Oh I see what you're saying. I hope so. Next to links awakening, these were my favorite handheld Zelda games.

Thank you so much for the heads up! I was at the edge of despair battling this f***. Awesome game. Now, to the final battle.
2:21 You can avoid the damage of the sweeping hand just using your shield. If you just aim your shield towards the hand and stay still, you'll not be harmed.
I had to keep loading save states (played this on 3DS) on this boss. It got so annoying. Took me many tries but I beat it.
Beth Celestial if you manage to find the armor ring lv2 and the Red Ring it's a lot more doable.
DRAGON SOUL ABSORBED
I didn't know you could hit the crystal with the Rod of Seasons, so I just tanked the damage. :(
+Kiku i know, how u feel, i felt dumb lol i tried every item i had, and the rod of seasons was my last resort lol.
I know it's not the correct method, but I always use the Green Holy Ring (protects against electricity) and the Pegasus seeds.

@trinidadparaminman Well, maybe they could update the graphics a little, but I don't know if 3D effects would be good.
I really liked your video :)
Just beat him with l1 sword and l2 shield, no potions. Super Happy! Took me about 7 to 10 tries.
@gunswordfist It depends. Seasons is more action based while Ages is more puzzle based. It depends on what you think is difficult
@marshmellowhobo No, it was a port. It was the original N64 Game ported to the Gamecube.
I bet you've heard this a lot, but if you have the Master Sword (which I see you do) you don't need to use a spin attack to damage the final bosses
I loved this fight. so freaking epic. :D
Veran was pretty epic as well.
Ring recommendations? I have the red ring, the power ring l-1 and the blue ring l-2. Anything I should switch out for or try to get?
This video helps me out, THANKS :)

Ganon is actually final boss (sorry if somebody said this),to fight him you have to type a code, something like that and start story again.

@TheGamerman1996 same. maybe because in his final form you have to jump alot.
wait if u beat oracle of seasons first would u get like something that summons the kangaroo instead of moosh?
@EikoHarvey
Cool, perhaps a 2D Collection for the DS and a 3D Collection for the Wii?
this games brings back so many memories, if only i can find my gameboy i can play it..
where can i find this game???
on what website i can find it.....
i really like this game....
the weak spot always seems to be an eye, a jewel, or some bulbous thing.
tip: you can use the green holy ring (it was something like that, i forgot) to avoid damage if you accidentally hit Din
yep, that was a pleasant surprise for me
which game came out first, oracle of ages or oracle of seasons. and also which one should u play first
You think Ganon is tough? This guy Onox makes Ganon look like a small child
If you do it right you can jump straight from one hand to the other hand, and just chain spin attacks.

@Gotmilk0112 I agree... but you gotta admit, they made for great YTPs!
I once rented a copy of this game that was on Onox's castle. I fought dozens of times, but his dragon form always got me.

this game is EPIC WIN i have it and im haveing trouble finding the surbosion portal that leads to the 8th dungeon can any1 help please reply TY
how do you get a magic potion?
@MysticArksRevenge
If the game only runs on the GBC, then it can't run on the Super Game Boy. Such is the case with the Oracle games.
His final form reminds me of that scary ass Clown final boss from Wario Land 3.
both of the oracle final bosses say something about Twinrova, what could it mean?
Are the endings any different in this game if you beat them in a different order? I think I beat it Seasons first then Time.

Why does Onox's final form remind me of the Mana Beast?
exactly how many times do u have to hit onox to beat him?
Onox was Represents of Death and Destruction
@xTheLemon I do not know, actually. I've never played this Zelda game.
Can you hit Onox with the sword beam?
I watch this video while singing the Onox song
@Animevidposter
Shigeru Miyamoto was planing of making a oracle of secrets game but that just never happened
@jmario232 i agree, thats why i love ages much more.
@mattkd100 I did use a red ring though which did help alot. Congratulations! you have completed the game, total deaths 220...crap!
@trinidadparaminman I don't know, they're perfect as is.
3rd one?
@MegaZeldaking did you do it because you couldn't the lvl 2 sword?
@LuigiKat11

Ahahaha god memories, and a great fight.

Weren't Nayru, Din, and Farore the godesses of Hyrule, not oracles?
@Animevidposter I've got a video on why farore didn't get her own game
Man, do I miss this game. Still need to play Oracle Of Ages. That one is supposed to be better, right?
do u have the phonograph?
TYPO!!!!!
At 5:25 its supposed to say sorrow, despair and destruction but it says sorrow, DEPAIR and destruction.

@cullmeister000 it was 1 or 2 idk lol long time
Oracle of Secrets is inside the Maku Tree.
There's a typo in the game at 5:26. It says "depair" instead of "despair".
I guess Din has a lisp. XD
wasn't there three oracles. Oralce of time, oracle of seasons and oracle of secrets. how come she didn't show up lol

u can use a ring sothe lightning doesnt hurt u. its the green holy ring
@MissAnimeFreak513 but unfortunatelly, hes not final boss
Onox really is a Megaman character in a Zelda game, even the Dark Dragon form is kinda like Sigma from MMX.
How can i get this ending? I played oracle of ages and seasons on my smartphone emulator. Played both games till the end.
After beating one of the two, games, you get a long code to input on the second game, when you start it.
TheGutsyGamer So if I beat both separately, I have to start over?
+Mariano J yes, or continue with the code given' to u to play the next game.
IE:
if u finished ages, use the code in the season in the main menu. if u finished the series (beating Ganon) u will be given Hero's secret code
u can use that code in both ages and seasons
but if u started the series by playing ages 1st then seasons, id use the Hero's secret in Seasons
so u can start the series all over again by 1st playing seasons then ages.
that way u can see slightly different stories and slightly different overworld map only in 1 area in both games
this final boss seems better than the one on ages
