I can’t stress enough how thankful I’m for these videos. It was my 3rd time at the skate park today and I did it! What a battle with fear it was and but at the end of the day I feel confidence boost. Learning with you is much easier. Even for 41 years old. Thank you! ❤

The head (and eyes) make a big difference. That's what I discovered when I was figure skating, how your head and your hips power up your turn. Now I need to apply it to park skating! Thanks for the tips.

Another video full of tips and tricks that's really helping me to understand why my right turns work, and my left turns fail miserably. Among other things, I think I'm not weighting the back leg enough - it's more 50/50. I plan to start working on my weak side as soon as we can breathe the air around here again.

Ok, so, I got my "good' foot side down pat and am pretty comfortable turning that way BUT on my "weak" foot side I'm having trouble getting my back foot to follow my front foot around the turn and keep going into the splits! YIKES!!! Any suggestions on getting my weak side back foot to get with the program?!?!?!? Thank you!!! Much Love

Post Skate Park after watching your video this morning: I managed to do some wide, shallow carves/turns but not the tight ones you do in your video. Watching your video again, I think I was just swinging my arms about and it wasn’t helping so I gave up on the arms thing. I see now that the arm movement is really to pull my shoulder around? Is that right? Anyway, I felt it was developing, so thanks again, Deborah. And, yes, I had loads of fun.

I have seen plenty of skaters go with the "crossing foot" but they manage to skate the hell out of all sorts of parks. I just think it is more beneficial in the long run to go with body mechanics that are natural.

Okay, so I’m back today from the skatepark. Trying to turn with the correct foot in front made me realize that I don’t usually have enough weight on my back foot (hip not sticking out!!) - I practiced rolling around with as best stance as possible learned from this vid and wow it felt like I had so much more control; crazy how little adjustments to the body make a big difference. Thanks for all your videos, they are so helpful! :-)

The dominant turning definitely will help with carving in bowls, however with a right dominant leg I would really like to know how to turn “goofy” or transition left quickly without changing my stance. I have done it once and it involves a hop, but I’d like a technical and safe description.

Another great video, Dirty Deb! I've never tried skate park/ramp skating before, but watching these two videos has given me the inspiration to want to try it! I notice that you use low-heel/derby-style skates on the ramp. Can this be done with figure-skate style boots with the taller heels? Can outdoor/soft/78A wheels work okay, or is it better to use the hard indoor 95/101A wheels on the ramp?
