Great review and demo as always! I have the PQ, Iron to Passeq (among other units). I enjoy the precision of the PQ and also love shaping with Passeq. An absolutely incredible EQ for broader strokes, it's pultec style so it allows you to really push whilst tightening up the either the lows, mids and/or highs, which are super silky. Cheers from Toronto!
I did purchase a PQ, and When I turn it on I can hear a tinny buzzing noise from the hardware, and it getting a bit hot. Is it doing the same to yours? Thx
It gets quite hot but I don't necessarily hear any noise from my hardware, unless I was to put my ear to the back of the unit and I have a very quiet room.@@Vins5800
That's actually a really good one. These two are very similar units. The only issue with a comparison situation is that the PQ has 5 bands and the Maselec has 4 bands.
This question is exactly why I'm here. Both EQs are big ticket items. so I want to make the decision with as much knowledge as I can get.. Now I have a little more guidance. I live kinda in the jungle on the Big Island of Hawaii, so "hands on" before buying is not an option. Thanks to both of you.
It is an upgrade, I have both in this room so I am a good person to ask. The PQ is going to be an all round EQ. The MusEQ can have its limitations. I use the PQ in mid side and MusEQ in stereo. I don't think you should swap it but I would recommend adding it to the MusEQ.

Thank you a lot for this review! Can if it's possible make one where you compare PQ vs MASELEC ?

@Audio Animals Ltd. thanks man!

between the PQ and MusEQ which would you prefer for modern pop, hip hop & r&b?
PQ 100%
@@AudioAnimalsStudio Hi What makes you choose PQ over the Museq? Would love to hear a shootout
Great video . Thank You. This is one really good eq.
I have a MusEQ and have been wondering if upgrading to this would be worth it 🤔

@@AudioAnimalsStudio I appreciate the insight! Thanks
best EQ ever
What about API 5500 stereo EQ, do you think it's any good for mastering? it has also a nice sound ...
Yeah, you can certainly use a 5500 for mastering
Do you leave the tmt on when you use the plugin?
what's tmt?
