- The 1970 Dodge Challenger known as the Black Ghost is heading to the mecum auction. The car is a RT/SE with a 426 Hemi, four speed and 4:10 Dan rear axle with a Gator grain top. Its a very uniquely optioned car with an incredible story.

Real moter city icon there, I have known of this car for years and hopefully someone in Michigan can end up with it to keep the icon true to its roots 💪💪💪
It sure is....so kool. Want to go halfsies on it lol
Wow! Captivating story.
Yeah, you should watch the documentary when you have time. You'll enjoy it
Great video Wayne. The car is cool, I love the original story of the car and it’s original owner, but it’s value feels soo fake it me. It’s merely rich people playing rich people games and as an old school hot rodder it just turns me off. It appears as though the collectors got involved with promoting the car in this circus like fashion. The values of these things continue to skyrocket out of the hands of the people that would truly appreciate these cars. I guess their nice to see in a museum to preserve the automotive history.
If it were me I too would sell the car (which makes me sort of a hypocrite)
But then I’d build a modified version that I could drive every day. Cars that sit inside and never get driven seem very sad to me. I like the mutts, the daily drivers and the cars that I’ve been modified with a taste of the owners soul.
Thanks for putting out another great video Wayne cheers.
Kevin
Thanks Kevin, it really seems like the whole thing was planned from the beginning. I think there were a lot of outside influences with the direction of the car from the beginning….all driving more crazy car prices like you said. Glad to see your thoughts. Look forward to more videos from you soon. Can’t wait to hear that motor fire up !
😍❤️🎨🤤✨
No stock 14 second 4; thousand pound carceith no upgrades was winning any steeet races its a fake story
💪
The young lad said he's not a car guy
Exactly, might be for the best. I just hope wherever it goes it will still be shown publicly
I'm a real car guy to the heart. If my father on his death bed told me to never sell his car ....there would never be a day that I would. Ridiculous
I agree never could do it man
Look at all of the lottery tickets he could buy an then be a millionaire ,
Obviously he should keep the car keep it in the family , heard the story awhile back . Even though dodge lost the law suite, I would think he would have took it to another mechanic shop and had the hood put on away from dodge .when the car was put back on the road and the other hood being there that would have been the hood I would have put on being that was what he wanted in the first place but left the gater top on he decided to do that to . However . He went threw all the trouble to get the hood , So . Anyway. The car should be kept in the family ok however if he doesn't want to keep the car for reasons of his own he's his own man has his reasons and that is totally understandable no need to analyze.he had a friend that raced a Corvette in it with his dad he should get the car . If not I would hope someone else in the military would get it , at the least someone that would appreciate it and not wrap it around a tree after purchase. Maby even someone in the police department should have it . Ya it's a car but with this story a rightfull owner would be nice at the least a responseable one .
Hi Wayne. If you have all the money you need of course you would keep it. But most people are not Jay Leno. Sell it buy a new one in its honor. Gary
I hear ya Gary, the kind of money it will bring could really change a life.
Selling would never be an option. Ever!!!!
he did today :-(
its a dope car, but the story is totally fake.
