Bonhomme and Elizabetta were beautiful, but Bonatti is the Gold Standard of TmB Refugios. From the southern bunk room, the end window had a no-edit view of morning "alpenglow" on the Mont Blanc massif. Plus, pack mules, tethered outside, the grazing cattle, and the fascinating farm "ruins", along the trail.
I’m loving watching your honest reviews and experiences of this challenging hike. We are (husband and I) going to be hiking the TMB in 2026 - my 50th gift to me 😂 and have watched quite a few channels but yours is by far the most real and I’ve already gained much information from these so far. Nice work! Thank you for taking the time to put this channel together with great content
Haha, World Champ of Slow Hiking! 😂 And she laughs with you! Amazing family vibes, chill, fun and honest story telling. After all the exertion on trail you even put hours on top for this documentary to entertain us. Fantastic, thank you!
Bwahahahaha! The "The thrill of victory and agony of defeat", then you rendition of the sportscaster re: your wife, where grandma's pass her, little children pass her....! Too funny! Love the black cow kicking up the heels as well!
I am really enjoying your videos and think it's awesome you're doing it with your daughter. Great memories for you all. Looking forward to the rest in this series.
Absolutely loved hiking the trail again with you! We have done it twice July 2018 and July 2023 but never did the ladders! I would try them next time after your great video! Thank you !!!!
The only TRULY "dizzy" part of the ladders is the second one, where you shift left (on a ledge) from the first. Just look UP, and COUNT - Out Loud !. Then, after the railing-hold part, it's fine (albeit still a Strenuous uphill to Lac Blanc - but worth it)
Super ! I had the same feeling in my knees having walked down from the Vielle Maison to Courmayeur. If I was to do it again i would certainly be kind to my knees and get the lift down. As if to tease you for your error of judgement, the chairs of the lift pass over your head as your knees pound down the trail ! I think Bonatti is probably the nicest refuge on all the TMB for location, views, and facilities. Well done to the three of you - Im sure the memories will be recounted many years fron now. Enjoy
We very much wished that the cable car had been open. They opened two days later - we were watching them get them all ready. Would have made that day a breeze!
Thanks for the terrific videos. I’m scheduled for the TMB this July. I’ve been playing the “Has a human stood there” game in New York’s Adirondack mountains for years. Safe travels!
I am so enjoying your series! Looking forward to the rest of your journey. I was thinking of an extra day in courmayeur as well. Love what yall did. Did you use happy tracks to make the reservations for you with the rest day? You were able to customize the days some?
Not allowed in the French National Preserves. The app I used to confirm okay or not okay in any particular location was called CoverDrone... The other big concern is to try not to annoy other hikers. I only put it up if I could get it up quickly away from people. The Mini 3 is pretty quiet, so once it's up far enough it's impossible to hear...
Thank you for the information. I do quite a bit of traveling and backpacking and have been considering getting a drone to add some dimension to my videos. Thanks again. I look forward to seeing your next upload.

Once in a lifetime - thank you for watching!
Your music choices are so good.
I thought you were going to make a joke about "the agony of de feet" 😂 looks like you're having more fun as the episodes progress

Yes Happy Tracks made all of the bookings for us. Made it very very easy. You can customize it however you like... Talk to Grant!
The hubs and I have really enjoyed this series. Thanks so much for all of the info! Where did the ladies get their massages and would you recommend?
At the hotel - they enjoyed them immensely!
Just out of curiosity, what are the requirements for flying drones? They add such a unique perspective.
