So much knowledge, curiosity and skill that is needed to make such difficult and complex music. I don't understand the magic of how they put it together.

I see you like the band so much that you wear the M Shadows shirt 😎🤘😂

Lol! I have a few shirts like this. They're very practical. Too warm? Roll sleeves up. Cooking? Easy removal. 🤷‍♀️😂

@@grahamnash9794 I've got this one. The band thought it was really arrogant how people in their local hardcore punk scene viewed bands with stage names, so they wanted to create some of the most pretentious stage names possible. Jimmy came up with the most over-the-top, pretentious name of them all, The Reverend Tholomew Plague, and it was later shortened to The Rev to save people time on saying and typing and pronouncing the whole thing.

Brian's name was originally Synyster Gaytes to make homophobes mad, and Matt's stage name was just Shadows without the M. One word like Slash or Prince. Zacky Vengeance's name went with the name of the band, and Johnny Christ as a name was as blasphemous as they come. They covered all the bases on making people upset.

One of my favorite songs and, in my opinion, one of their best. I had not seen this video and it has been very informative.
I recommend that you react to the Breackdown of Shepherd of Fire, where they say many curiosities about the song. Good video.

The "steering wheel" on a ship is known as the Helm, and the person turning one, is Helmsman.
A little thing about you that i love so much, when you pause to comment and forget where you were going. I love that, so honest and unpolished.
If I speak out of place, delete, and except my saying sorry. Had an extras drinky with some super lovely people, and I let slip from time to time. A really enjoyable video for certain. I was in too deep in understand a lot of it, but the stuff in English I grasped. The music separation, singling out individual instruments spoke more than the tech language to me. Still, it amaizes me how much goes into modern rock 'n roll. Seeing an artist play their own weapon of choice highlights the quality of their talent, and gives a new appreciation of the player, and opens up just how much each member of a band is essential to making a band a whole working unit.

I agree! And no, you're not out of place/bothering me. I forget things fairly often - I'm not sure if it is age, motherhood, or those extracurricular activities from my early 20s. :) I, too, enjoyed seeing Syn. play the guitar. I'm glad that you had a good time with friends and also enjoyed this video. :)

Rick Beato is brilliant. He's one of Papa Gates' friends. I love his breakdown videos.
Syn is definitely huge into nautical hobbies. There were videos on Instagram recently of he and his wife Michelle out on a yacht. Surfing is one of his major hobbies. The whole band lives near the beach.
Zacky was absolutely the lead guitarist on Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. On Waking the Fallen, he played a ton of the main riffs. Then he wrote the Scream riff and the Dancing Dead solo and stuff. He's a very good guitarist, though people do tend to focus on Syn because he's so fast, nuanced, and consistent. They're a perfect complement for each other.
Syn's guitars are called the Schecter Synyster Custom. There are over a dozen variations now. Also a version without the A7X stripes called the Schecter Avenger. Before Schecter endorsed he and Zacky around 2005, he played Parker Fly guitars and Gibson Les Pauls and Schecter Hellraisers.
Andy Wallace is a legend. He engineered albums by Slayer, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Disturbed, Staind, System of a Down, Slipknot, blink-182, Sum 41, 3 Doors Down, Good Charlotte, Paul McCartney, Guns N' Roses, Skillet, and Ghost. There are only a few guys with his kind of incredible history.
I'm glad this video gave you a lot to think about. Rick definitely has a ton of information in everything on his channel. He's got great ranking videos, too.

I don't know what this guys talking about, this is one of the easiest songs I've ever played on drums. It isn't difficult on drums at all. But also I've been playing drums since I was like 5, I'm 25 now.

If you want to see more of Syn’s jazzy side he did a Masterclass where he played gypsy jazz as well as a mix of a7x influenced styles with gypsy jazz
