Tim is such a lovely man, and what great stories. If only he could catalog everything, with all references, and tying up the stories. I wish he could get help with such a huge project.
Thank you so much for saving so many of her items. And thank you for filming this. I believe she was one of the beautiful ladies inside and out. There will never be another May West..
Mae West kept her telephone number open for all to see in the Los Angeles telephone directory and would either have someone answer every call or one of her staff. I know as I did call that number toward the end of her life and talked with a very pleasant staff member at her Ravenswood Apartment who informed me Miss West (who had recently been ill) was doing better and she appreciated the telephone call. Mae West always loved her fans even to the point of keeping her telephone number open and in the Telephone Directory for anyone wanting to call her.
You know you could have put a cover on the bird cage and it would have quieted down. Because I love Meat but the screeching made it very difficult to watch.
Came across this video in my feed. So glad I saw this. Very informative and so awesome to see that he's cared for her legacy this way. She really is a true legend and should have a museum dedicated to her
This is fabulous!!! I can't believe you found this wonderful man that is so respectful of Mae West that he has compiled this collection of fascinating items that Mae herself saved over her whole life!!! I would totally love to meet Tim and hear all his stories and see his collection!!! I love his outlook on the subject of keeping n respecting her items so we'll!!! What a gem you have found!!! Attaboy, Jordan!!!
They don't make them like that anymore!! Mae West created her dream, lived the dream and allowed others to dream, through her amazing persona and incredible talent. She provided the gift of laughter and dared women to be different through overt displays of indifference to stifling social mores of the time. At a diminutive 5ft(2ish) she was larger than life. One of a kind. Thank you for the memories Miss West.
THIS IS ONE OF UR BEST ! my sugar dad visited mae often, a record producer who helped her with albums, she was nutty but smart as a whip.....ravenswood was georgous bak then....i think she bought it after they scolded her for havin so many black friends up....yay mae thank u tim for sharing !
i am late to the party on these videos, but i was inspired to get into contact with Tim Malachosky. this gentleman went above and beyond for me. i just purchased one of his out of print books, a signed Mae West photo and a signed check from the 30's! i am an amateur collector of the golden/silver age. i can't wait to read his book. he is just as authentic as you see in the videos and i encourage anyone who is a true fan to contact him through facebook. hopefully one day i can encourage him to part with a gown or something! as far as the museum idea, i asked if he would consider crowd-sourcing. if anyone thinks this is a good idea or might consider a donation, like/thumbs up?! maybe, HOPEFULLY we as a whole can get Ms. West a museum she deserves.
btw, i asked what her favorite movie of hers was, and he gave me two answers. "She Done Him Wrong" and "I'm No Angel." She happened to write both of those screenplays, and coincidentally (or not) Cary Grant was in each! enjoy!
Tim is a Great person and is soo kind hearted in sharing with you and us MAE WEST's personal belongings. I, would happily send Tim money to help him in opening up a MAE WEST museum. Tim Thanking you for sharing MAE with us. Sending Tim positive energy and thoughts.
Sorry to be offtopic but does someone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my login password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@Hamza Zane I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
As a African American woman people are some surprised that I enjoy Mae. My mother would watch her movies and we would laugh so hard. Ms West was definitely one of a kind. I really enjoyed this! Good luck on a museum
This is a treasure. I feel like Alice who fell down the rabbit hole into Mae Wonderland! Thank you for all of it- the portraits, gowns, furniture, the wonderful stories, the adulation, the reverence for one of the most talented actresses in American film history, and yes, even the cute dog and singing bird. The collection is priceless. What is wrong with Hollywood? The museum for all that has been preserved is long overdue.
I love Mae West and love that he keeps all of her things like that!! What an amazing lady for sure. I hope to see these things in a museum some day!! Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you Jordan for this interview with Mr. Malachosky! What a nice man to share his Mae West memorabilia collection, beautiful items. I do hope one day his dream comes true of the Mae West Museum. The silents up to 1935, always my favorite time period of films.
Mae's license plate number 435 is the number of my apartment building. Number 12 add it together 3 is my favorite number. I order two loveseats called camelback. Mae, sat on a camelback couch on the Red Skelton show. I didn't realize it at the time that I order camelback, I just loved the style. I have been waiting for loveseats for 6 months because of the pandemic. A week ago, I visit the store to talk with the salesman. I was upset. I mentioned Mae West's was my favorite actress. And said he come up and see me sometime. We both laughed. Well, he checked on order. They'll be delivered March 9!!!! Thanks God and Mae. By the way I was wearing her favorite perfume JOY!!! LOL
I wonder if this man had any idea how much of an honor it is to become an assistant to such an incredible legend like Mae West. I find this so incredibly fascinating. To own just one little artifact would mean the world to me. I live in the area of Brooklyn where Mae West grew up and my parents are buried by the Abby where Mae West is laid to rest. I have paid my respects to Mae a couple of times. God Bless her Soul. What an incredible woman Mae West was. RIP.
May West was Beautiful💙This Man is like May West Bundle Keeper he is Wonderful💙I love seeing all of MW Dresses, fans, all her personal items there Beautiful 💙 That was an awesome vlog💙
Thank God you've documented this; it's such an important vlog about a star well ahead of her time. Thank you. By the way, I read in the comments someone chiding you for including your furry friend in the blogs and how fatiguing for him it was to endure the first few minutes of your posts because of his having to watch your canine friend - nuts to him, your dog is fab.
Wow that was so nice of Tim to share all of her history and memorabilia with you. It's such a shame that it;s not in a official museum so everyone can see it. Thanks for another great video!
hello Jordan, i just discovered your channel today while preparing for pride day. I just learned of Mae West from a hair recreation video on another youtube channel and they were talking about her and it had me running to the library to rent what films they had of her after seeing a few clips from scenes posted on youtube. I'm now a fan of hers and this video makes me like her even more because you hardly get a chance to encounter people who knew the classic golden age actors of the past anymore and learn about the person and not the icon or celebrity side. i like her even more because after learning more about her from jthis part of the video she and there were a few things mentioned that is very similar to me. an example would be the off camera on camera , but for my case it be performing and not performing. People are very shocked at how modest i am because they've mostly seen me while performing and in costume and they only know ...I guess you could call it the spice., but when they meet me out of costume and just mellow they're shocked at how different i am. I know this video was made 6 years ago but I hope one day we do have an official museum for Mae west. it be fun to see maybe little life size diorama recreations from scenes from her films and have a manniquin wearing one of the costumes that was seen in that scene from that movie. Speaking of costumes That frock with the fishtail got me inspired. i do a lot of my costumes and i might try to create something inspired by it. it was absolutely gorgeous. the one shocking thing i learned was how short she was. i always thought maybe she was a little taller but when the platforms were mentioned it explained everything. Well i have an event i got to finish getting ready for. i will be watching the second half later when i get back, you've a great rest of your weekend and a happy pride month from seattle.
Jordan I think this is the best video I have EVER seen you make. What amazing footage and what a wonderful man he was to let you film it all. Thank you for taking us back to the past and all the stars that people have forgotten. If I was ever able to own a house of a star I would never ever redo it. I would keep it the way that had it. To many people now a days don't care. Thank you for all your hard work keep it up.
He should definitely put the word out there to the right/reputable people. Someone has to be interested in displaying those items in a museum. Surprised it hasnt all been auctioned off. Great watch. Thanks👍
I hope you have a will , you should donate all of this to Brooklyn borough hall, she was born in Brooklyn before there was a Brooklyn. Born in Bushwick before it was part of Brooklyn in 1899. Her accent is 19th century Bushwick-Greenpoint.
This was so great.thank you for doing this and I really thank you for showing us all these wonderful things. This is really fantastic.she really needs her own museum.😍😍😍😍❤❤❤❤💋💋💋💋
+Rachel Delgado unfortunately the lady who lives in the apartment did respond and said they she would be ok with it, but that her lease says specifically no filming in the apartment, punishable by eviction, so it's not going to happen, unfortunately...
This gentleman has the same problem, that Debbie Reynolds had with costumes to be put in a museum of Hollywood memorabilia, because there really isn't any. Debbie tried to create her own but money issues with her then husband and losing her casino. Debbie tried get some interest in this museum for Hollywood but none of the studios were interested.
I'm commenting here because the comments were disabled on video #145, my favorite to date, which ironically is all about Jordan and not a celebrity or famous place. I stumbled upon this channel while being obsessed with Kurt Cobain a few weeks ago. Looking for allll the Kurt and Nirvana videos, I watched the one where Jordan went to the apartment of Kurt and Courtney where In Utero was probably penned. Since then I've been hooked! Subscribed to the channel and have begun watching chronologically from episode 1... Jordan, you are such a kind, curious, sweet man! I love your sense of humor, quest for knowledge, and drive for positivity in your life! It's strange, but I feel like I know you - like we're friends. Keep doing what you're doing and being a wonderfully kind person. Your personality shines in your videos and it is refreshing! 😊
My father the Vaudeville star, Deiro, was married to Mae West in 1913. Separated in 1916 and divorced in 1921. Almost everything published about Mae's early career was censored by her agents so as not to cloud her popularity. Remember, she was forty years old when she went to Hollywood. For the real story visit the illustrated web site guidodeiro.org. Click on "Contents" then "Mae West". You will be astonished.. I inherited many items from their marriage and careers.
I just read the things you posted both here as well as your other site. This is an amazing story about your dad and Mae West. Even though both your dad as well as Mae were known by everyone about town in those days, it is almost 100 years later and 2-3 generations down and many new to this Earth don't know about these people. I am not sure why there should not be a book or movie out about the real struggles in those early times of entertainment. It would be interesting to people to know what it was like back then. It just isn't the same anymore.
+Cecilie M And also, he was so talented, in his own right! The accordion, was not easy to play; yet he mastered it and taught classes! I was so glad that he and Mae, became friends after their possessive marriage! They were something else!!! 😂

I love her and have 9 of her films....I'm No Angel is a hoot that never gets old.....Fortune Teller: I see a man in your future. Mae: What only one? Cary Grant: You bad girl. Mae: You'll find out.
Due to current health issues I cant venture out to much. I can't thank you enough for allowing me to visually get out with your videos. I love how informational you are in them. Keep up the great work and be careful. Tc Jordan .
WOW! Thank You for this video. This was GREAT! I am a huge MAE WEST fan. This was a wonderful opportunity. If, I had this opportunity to touch MAE West's items... I would have been tickled and wiggling with excitement in being in MAE's personal belongings. I will be buying MAE's assistant's book just because he kindly shared with you MAE's personal belongings.
It's a shame that there is not a Mae West museum. A true Hollywood Icon
Tim is such a lovely man, and what great stories. If only he could catalog everything, with all references, and tying up the stories. I wish he could get help with such a huge project.
Too bad you misspelled her first name.

I remember that..Who does that today? She was a doll.
Wow!! Real star!!
My great Aunt made her a dress . She was a self employed private seamstress in Pasadena. Which led me to this video.
That’s amazing 😻
Cool!

That damn bird! Why didn't one of you cover it?
What kind of bird was it...yes I'm curious..
Ya, just awful
@@jonathanvincent9236 A VERY noisy one.
I wish he had shown the viewer's a view of his pet parrot. Must have been a very beloved pet.
Oh Yessss! Very annoying!
Awesome video, what a beautiful woman Mae West ❤
Ravenswood is the perfect place for a museum. They should have a honorary exhibit at the very least.
It’s not really a museum, more of a shrine. The world needs more devoted folk like this, makes the world a better place.
As a African American woman people are some surprised that I enjoy Mae. My mother would watch her movies and we would laugh so hard. Ms West was definitely one of a kind. I really enjoyed this! Good luck on a museum
This was great to see. I love Mae West. I do hope she gets her own museum.
Fabulous guy to take Mae West things, exquisite! Thank you. From Grand Rapids Michigan USA 🇺🇸
Tim is WONDERFUL!
Why shouldnt there be a museum in NYC? She's been from Brooklyn, she got her start in NYC and her final resting place is in Brooklyn, NYC.
Absolutely
She was a National Treasure. Much loved. Much missed.
She was such a beauty, they don’t make them like her anymore, lovely to see her items and hear stories of her ❤.
