I was going through my mom’s things when she moved in with us due to Alzheimer’s. I found a piece of paper with an autograph addressed to her thanking her for her support and signed Bob Newhart. I asked my brother about it. He said he had heard they had seen him at a comedy club in San Francisco early in his career. I wish I could ask her about it but it just made me so happy to find it. She thoroughly enjoys your videos. So do I. You got us through Covid. Thank you.
This was a beautiful tribute/biography of the great Bob Newhart. Although you have visited many impressive statues on your travels, I think this is my favourite. Not only is it a great work of art, but its setting, with the lake view out front and the skyline behind shows just how much Chicago loved Bob Newhart - as we all did. Many thanks Katie and Jordan for producing this wonderful episode.
The last episode of Newhart is one of the greatest series finales ever. I was a teenager and remember people absolutely losing their crap over it and the media having a field day with it. The fans of both shows absolutely loved the shocking and diabolically clever end twist with Bob and Suzanne Pleshette giving them a well done tie in to the first show to wrap up the second. Bob was already beloved for both of his wonderful TV series but that iconic moment of sheer genius cemented his legacy.
Great tribute, I had sent him a picture of outside of Wrigley Field when the Cubs won the World Series in 2016. I'm a huge cubs fan and I knew he was also, and he was kind enough to sign it and also sent me a pic signed of him and Suzanne Pleshette from the first show. He was really a great guy, great blog.
You always tell a great story. I’m glad you picked Bob.I loved him. I grew up watching him, what a icon and quite a legend thank you Jordan for putting this out for us beautiful tribute
This video had me all misty eyed throughout it, The Bob Newheart Show was a favorite of my Dad's, who passed away bak in 1983. Bob sure could make that man laugh! I liked it when it was on (eart 1970's) but as Ive grown up I appreciate the humor & wish I could experience the reruns with my Dad now!! Thanks, Jordan & Katie! 👍👍
I love every single one of Bob Newhart’s tv shows and appearances later on in life like on the Big Bang Theory. He was just so good at his characters. Now I want to go there to sit by Bob on that couch 😂😂 thank you for the great back stories of Bob and wonderful tribute.
Bob Newhart was an amazing actor and comedian. One of the last roles I remember him doing was a short recurring role on E.R. where he played a man going blind. It was an amazing performance by an amazing performer.
Classic TV is my favorite & I have seen some of Bobs early work on the classic Variety shows. I cant recall the exact shows these come from, but great bits! Bit #1.) Bob walks into a department store after Christmas to return a toupee his wife had given to him. Oh boy, may the fun begin!! (This maybe the Dean Martin Show) Bit #2. Picture Bob as a Driving Instructor...enough said!! lOl 😆 I remember him as a Air Traffic Controller (mid to late 60's), hes on the phone with a pilot or his boss (my memory not so clear on this), but it was classic Bob doing his one sided phone calls & hilarious!! Thanks, Jordan & Katie, Sure do miss Papa Elf!! Rest In Peace, Bob.🌹
Great video. I lived in Chicagoland area for 55 yrs then moved to southewest Al. I get homesick for home and you took me back today my old memories of Navy pier. Thank you as we probably wont travel back home as we retired in a small town of Foley. Foley Al was developed by a Chicago man name John Foley who had a vision of this town which is near the Gulf shores.
Loved both his shows! I need to road trip to Chicago and check this stuff out. I live in central Illinois about 3 hours away. Thank you for sharing and bringing the lovely Katie with you! Love all your content! Keep up the great videos!❤
I was recommended the "Stop it!" episode of the Bob Newhart show a few years back when I began having obsessive thoughts. It actually helped {that and meds}
I know Suzanne from The Birds and a movie from 1969 shot in Europe. I think she was a tour guide in it. She was one of those exceptionally pretty actresses with such a warm, personable, upbeat personality that women couldn't dislike or be envious of her.
I was going to say the same thing. Austin is pretty much a very lousy neighborhood on the very west side of Chicago, just before you run into Oak Park. Still a nice vlog on Newhart.
Same neighborhood where the current mayor lives. Much of Austin has gone to hell and I avoid that entire West Side area. Not a place to even safely sit in a parked car for a short time for any reason.
My dad worked downtown and watched Bob being filmed for the shows intro which was him walking down the street carrying a briefcase. When the director said cut everyone laughed when Bob opened his briefcase and pulled out a toy fire truck, handing it to one of his kids.
I loved the Bob Newhart Show. Suzanne Pleshette was the perfect match as Bob’s wife, Emily. It felt like they were a real couple who loved each other. Suzanne Pleshette was so pretty in “The Birds.” Unfortunately she wasn’t allowed to be funny in that role.
Bob newhart was a legend all the time and 94 years is a golden age for him he was buried at san fernando mission hills cemtery but according to his find a grave memorial page, bob isn't buried at san fernando mission hills. Bob newhart woud be buried at either hollywood forever cemetery or forest lawn hollywood hills Let me know
@DazewithJordantheLion not all of them he can't be buried at sea let's see if he has a place of burial revealed my geus was hollywood forever cemetery for his burial

Awesome!!!!! Loved Bob Newhart. Loved the 70's Bob Newhart show! ❤

I just turned 67, and Bob has been a favorite of mine ever since I can remember. This is a fantastic tribute!
Chicago girl here, loved the Bob Newhart show. Thank you for this excellent piece, well written and researched. I learned a lot!
Austin is a neighborhood in Chicago next to Oak Park.
His telephone calls were classis gold. Thanks Jordan and Katie!

So funny, my fraternity used to watch the reruns and play Hi Bob in college. Great tribute
I enjoyed watching this so much. Thank you Jordan & Katie.
He was funny without even trying in his own quiet way. A very loveable guy. Nice to see you and Katie enjoying yourselves!
He was such an iconic guy. 🎉 what a wonderful tribute vlog. Thanks

Thank you for sharing. Bob Newhart was one of the best. I believe that statue was once located on North Michigan Avenue near the Wrigley Building.
loved Bob Newhart
I enjoyed the Newhart show. This video was very enjoyable!!
Thank you and Katie, this was great 🎄
This is too cool. I remember the show as a little girl. My Mom looked like Suzanne Plesette... yes really.
I always Loved Bob. My parents always had it in the TV, I’m 60 yrs old so I definitely remember his show.
My home town! Really good one Jordan! (Again) Bob was really good in The Big Bang Theory. Katie and you did great in the Prince vlog also! Thank you!

Bob and Don…
2 of the funniest people ever 😅
I love this comediant actor!
Thank you for sharing!
🤍👍🤝
What a perfect statue of Bob. Hi Katie 💞
The Bob Newhart Show was one of my favorites growing up as a kid in the mid-late '70s. Never could get into the second show (Newhart) show, though.
Great video. I lived in Chicagoland area for 55 yrs then moved to southewest Al. I get homesick for home and you took me back today my old memories of Navy pier. I love your Chicago content!! ❤
Loved his dry sense of humor
Austin is a neighborhood in Chicago. Oak Park is a suburb of Chicago across from Austin.
Love this!
I remember the "Hi Bob" game. :)
Thanks for the tour Jordan!
The beautiful Katie...yes, yes, Katie is gorgeous 😍
I love beautiful Katie
@ericpugh234 Me too.
I know Suzanne from The Birds and a movie from 1969 shot in Europe. I think she was a tour guide in it. She was one of those exceptionally pretty actresses with such a warm, personable, upbeat personality that women couldn't dislike or be envious of her.

Hi Jordan & Katie you tube channel Love my favorite one fan BIG 💖💖 Marry Christmas 🎄 ⛄️ ❄️
Always loved Bob. I just watched Elf 2 days ago and thought about his passing. RIP
Austin is a Chicago neighborhood , not a suburb..love Bob Newhart!!
Maybe 75 years ago it was sort of a suburb.
@SueProv Now it's just a bad area in Chicago, Illinois
He describes it in his book as a suburb of chicago. Argue with him
I was going to say the same thing. Austin is pretty much a very lousy neighborhood on the very west side of Chicago, just before you run into Oak Park. Still a nice vlog on Newhart.

Didn't know any of this. Thank you. You tell story's good 👍😎
We had the ssme 4th grade teacher. At different times of course. Sister Mary Piuse used to brag about it to us often
Cheers from Indiana
Oh fer. Austin is a Chicago neighborhood it’s not Austin Illinois. Oak Park is a suburb.
Yes, I grew up there as well.
Awesome! Subscribed! God Bless❤
Dr. Hartley's office building is still there too, looks different though.
Johnny Carson liked Bob Newhart
Aw I love him he did a funny skit on dean Martin's christmas in the 60s so cute! He did a scene on Er.in2004 I think
My dad worked downtown and watched Bob being filmed for the shows intro which was him walking down the street carrying a briefcase. When the director said cut everyone laughed when Bob opened his briefcase and pulled out a toy fire truck, handing it to one of his kids.
Thanks.
When he talks about Bob, not being a lawyer, working for a law firm and not taking the test to advance. He means the LSAT. Law school admission test.
Nice 😊
Loved him on the big bang
I love the statue/
Don’t forget he also played on the Big Bang Theory too
He was also great on the Big Bang theory
hi my name is Larry this is my brother Darryl and my other brother Darryl
Bob went to college with my uncle and everyday he brought a peanut butter sandwich for lunch.
HI there is not a good idea to be safe out there 😔😭 I love you too 💋 and thank God for you 🙏 o
Funny guy love show
what 'happened' with 'Jar' - I have not watched for many moons
Notice the chair is taller than the couch? That is on purpose, can you guess why?
Don Adam’s what a sleazy thing todo. Poor Bob
I thought when Bob was on Big Bang Theory, his best friend stole his wife, Rickles could of been that friend.
Bob newhart was a legend all the time and 94 years is a golden age for him he was buried at san fernando mission hills cemtery but according to his find a grave memorial page, bob isn't buried at san fernando mission hills. It's not Austin Illinois. It's the Austin neighborhood in Chicago. It's not pronounced MAY-nerd, It's pronounced meh-NARD, dopey.
Look after yourself Jordan, your breathing has become quite noticeable in the last few videos 🏨
Asthma..cold weather.. dont woryy about me. This has been talked about since the beginning of the channel 9 years ago
I miss Bob Newhart!
