No you could see in his face, he was considering something in his little baby head. Maybe a "but if you try me on something tho, it's on. Otherwise, I'm glad that you like the grahamy things too 🤗🧐." 2:54

As amazing as this experiment seems, I think it is somewhat reductionist. We cannot reduce the complexity of a human to simple tasks such as picking a bear. It's deeper than that.

Yes you are right. We cannot reduce the complexity of a human baby to simple tasks such as picking a bear. We should make a baby solve quadratic equation. That would be a right challenge for a baby, isn’t it?

I'll never forget the story I read about a father singing to his daughter when she was in the womb. WHENEVER he would sing she was stopped moving and her mother's stomach. So when his daughter was born came out screaming at the top of her lungs and refusing to eat. When her father starts singing to her she became calm and begin to eat.
Our children learn while they're in the womb. Their physical perception of right and wrong is reinforced physically when they're born.

I don't think babies care about language, or even looks. I'm Mexican (light brown skin, black hair) but I'm also part Dutch and live in the Netherlands now. Here, a cousin of mine has a baby boy who's blonde and has blue eyes. For fun I tend to speak in Spanish to the baby and he doesn't care, he also doesn't seem to even be aware that I look different. As long as I'm nice to him,he doesn't care I don't look like his parents or like him. I think this is a better example applied to real life...

Right of the bat, few questions about the good bunny / bad bunny experiment:
-Do babies have a colour bias that was accounted for?
-Do babies have a reach out bias, meaning they might use their visual bias to reach out more on one side than other, which was accounted for?
-Was there an unconscious bias in the presenter possibly reaching out further with the right hand to present the good bunny closer to the baby?
    Interesting studies, though!

Scientists once again "proving" common sense. "Babies like those who are like them?" How about babies, (and anyone with common sense) likes those who are helpful and protective (green bunny) rather than those who express violence and opposition (orange bunny) It's called survival.

Racism is ingrained in our DNA for good reason.
For 200,000 years we lived in small groups spread over the world.
Each group looked different according to their geographical location.
When they encountered people of a different race, this meant people from far away were likely invading
their territory. It is easy to unlearn..but the initial response will always exist

We all are born this way, we all have a base-level prejudice, ignorance, hell even racism call it what you will. The racism we think of is the hatred aspect, the hatred part is more or less taught or exposed to us, from parents, organizations, religions, etc. When that happens, it’s no longer what the video suggests, this is an outside influence that makes people behave or think a certain way, so the saying, “No baby is born racist” is...kinda true, but kinda wrong as well.

Absolutely! There is a predisposition towards a certain feeling. However, those tests are inconclusive and stupid. There could be something bad inside the box which would reverse the situation. The "mean" bunny might actually be the heroic bunny. The "good" bunny may be a frickin' fool! The children are just going on the APPEARANCE of the bunnies which means they are fools too. They're being made out to be fools.

  • @BCtruth

People who are different from you will always be viewed as a threat or a curiosity to some degree. It's built into our instinctual fight-or-flight response. It's evidenced by babies, of all races, showing some fear, confusion, or anxiety at pictures of people who are not their mother or who look anything unlike thier mother or father. You could show a white baby a picture of a black man and get some expression of fear, curiosity, or confusion. But you could also show that baby a picture of a giraffe, or snail, or airplane, and get a similar response. Just as you could show a black baby a picture of a white man and get a similar response.
It's a built-in defense and safety mechanism to protect us from the unknown, and it's a healthy natural response, which shouldn't be shamed or defeated.
The issue is that certain people manipulate and exploit this reaction for political or personal gain, to increase their own personal or perceived sense of power or (moral) authority.

10 years ago but i would like to address what i see as a flaw in the study. The baby chose the bear that they said agreed we her taste in food. But they had the women give negative attributes toward the food the baby liked instead of just having the bear like the other food. I think that would have shown better bias testing. Most people don't like negative attitudes about their choice not necessarily a different choice made.

    • @johnisaacfelipe6357
      @johnisaacfelipe6357 7 років тому

its more akin to, Republicans are voting more naturally and more inline with how evolution has shaped their ethnic populations. Democrats are the ones ignoring human biology and evolutionary psychology by always having a xenophillic position.
given that evolution has always managed to create groups of individuals that are better suited for the success of their genome. In a natural republican society (ie one that promotes homogeneity) the natural inclination of a population that shares their genome will succeed in higher frequency.
but in a democrat society (one that promotes heterogeneity) the natural inclination of the parent population will often be in an environment that will impedes on its success.
In a genetic point of view, a certain race's/group's democrat are usually the people who has no actual interest in the betterment of that race/group. ie a traitor. while a republican follows the natural inclination to work in the interest of its group.
this finding itself is actually very very exciting for the conservative side of biology because it blows out of the water those who believe that societal behaviors and phenomenons like "racism/sexism/nationalism" are all created by society when it truth its actually natural and healthy events
now if they can find proclaimed democrats that have the same race and watch the baby choose between an individual of the same race or an individual with a different race, then we can see whether there's a democrat gene.
the same thing can be done to republicans to find if there's a republican gene.
and then make an experiment wherein a baby from a democrat family is adopted by a republican family and when that baby grows old, matches with a mate that has the same condition, and makes children, will the teachings from his/her republican family will be passed down to his/her children at an early age and do that too with the republican family and child.
with those experiments we can find out whether inclination in one's political beliefs are actually genetics

I am actually appalled at this. You are saying to me that babies were born knowing good from bad... hmm 🤔 then tell me why a baby would climb his ass upon a window or other high places and not know the danger that lies below him?
Tell me how some kids pull hot stuff over on themselves... I understand that babies do have a level of intelligence when it comes to other people’s energy and they do explore their surroundings. But I am very much doubtful that it is bias as you are trying to sell it. We were taught not to go near the stove.... barred from doorways and stairway... not saying babies don’t have fear or whatever but to say it is a bias is superficial.

God’s Angel sometimes it’s not a lack of intelligence but a lack of fear

I mean take two real people a baby doesn't know and have them be nice or mean to the baby....how much you want to bet the baby is going to know who the bad person is ? lol

God’s Angel You’re completely off here. You’re referring to what’s RIGHT and WRONG, versus the experiment’s topic, what’s GOOD and BAD.
