You're right: this was a great one! Nice catch of that derailment in the dark--and I see that we had a number of deerwin awards lol. Ashland Train Day looked like a blast, and the ending was perfect as it always is when you do one of those time-lapse-and-music wonders. Also, I love to watch the MOW guys work anytime you show them, and I hope they got the fire out, whatever it was. Thank you for all your hard work!
TYCM for awesome grab bag. I watch cams and reaally enjoy them all. Im in nursing home now so cant pay for my membership no more. Alongtime fb friend got me this computer to use to occupy my time so I can watch my csms and videos. Iam grateful. TY FOR VIDEO AND CAMS , God bless🥰🚝
The deer at Elkhart are pretty cool .I see deer all the time crossing over a remote trestle/ bridge nearby on the river I live on .This being south Alabama we have an abundance of large alligators in this river so I guess they would rather chance a random train than these reptiles .Pretty smart thinking in my book .They can always tell when a train is coming never an alligator lurking in the water .They aren't the only wild creatures making use of it either .Great Grab Bag as usual .

1:38 The first time I saw "Do not hump" I thought of the dirty crude meaning of hump we all thought of if you are being honest. Then I wondered why anyone would hump a railroad car, and just how it would be done. I had to look it up to find out what it meant.
@virtualrailfan I noticed that lately, the grab bags have scenes that were in one part of them shown again later in the videos. At first, I took this to be a mistake in editing, but this is the third grab bag in several days that I noticed it. This time it was the CSX gondola that derailed with sparks being shown twice. First at 9:03, then at 15:01. Is this intentional now, or just some honest coincidencial editing mistakes.
is there any record of how many deer/bears/other animals get killed on railway tracks? And to the boy at 9 minutes: "what fine teeth you haven't" Lucky you, at that age when baby teeth go and adult teeth push up! For mine that have fallen out, there are no more replacements!
I do not know how many locations that WRF covers. I think somewhere between 50 and 100. For a European, the number of derailments that are picked up from this - limited - number of cameras, is horrifying. The state of the infrastructure and rolling stock must be so poor.
Im declining to renew my Virtual Railfan membership because I'm sick and tired of the moderators being rude to the people who are viewing their cams....there's a real attitude like they own the camera and how dare you ask a question or make a request.....our membership fee pays for those cameras, until VR understands this, they will continues to lose viewers and see new competition pop up all over youtube. OKC is one of the worst for being rude.
Thank You VRF for another GREAT Grab Bag ! Cheers ! Uncle Rudy

Hi! I am in a nursing home too
We are glad you enjoy watching!
Really loved the ending. I only live 100 miles from Santa fe junction, and my layout is inspired by it.
That was a great day in Ashland. wouldn"t have missed it for the world. Awesome grab bag. Thanks Mike!

Derailing is part of the business of railroading
Thanks VRF Love Ashland❤
Good video and like the shot of deer 🦌 and CPL signal, nice sunset!🛤🚂
Nice views. We ❤ trains.
What a wonderful event at Ashland.
Awesome catches.
Deer walking by the "Elk"hart sign...😅
I agree Wyomising Junction would be an AWESOME place for a RailCam ...

At 16:35 you got a chuckle out of me for the boings of the worker's hammer...thx.
LOL, I wanted to get the timing a bit better, but the deadline was coming up quickly.
@@joepeach997 Thanks for not using the Benny Hill music lol
hahah me too, it looks like an old silent film lol (except it has the boings lol)

Another great Grab Bag!
Operational railroad excellence, something we had here in South Africa 50 years ago 😢
Love the channel ! ! !
At least the deer walking along the tracks in Elkhart were not walking "in the gauge" - between the rails. Smart deer - but still trespassing.
Yeah, don’t they know it’s ELKhart ,not deersville.😊
Cool. Remanufactured Chicagoland Metra locomotive must have just left the Patterson, Georgia plant on it's way to being delivered up north. At 7:10
Nice to see that we British were represented there, I enjoy your videos.
1:48 aww man 😢
The sound effects at La Plata were hilarious! Great grab bag!
Enjoy the grab bag immensly
ANOTHER Killer outro...
I'm all for flying the Union flag when overseas (after the Yorkshire one of course) but make sure to get it the right way up.
LOL, I think he just got caught up in the moment. Got to admire a Bloke that takes his vacation to party with us! Cheers!
The storms in Oklahoma yesterday produce some pretty good tornadoes
4 killed unfortunately
I see that they had to put a p32 in that Seimens headend. LOL
Awesome grab bag! Love seeing CSX 911 leading my tanker train! Tanker trains are my favorite types of freight trains
Happy Sunday VR Friends👋🏻
I miss cabooses
I think we all do, and to think they were on almost every train at one time.
Train day is the best !
A bit of normalcy in a crazy crazy world, thank you!
Hi Virtual Railfan & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Virtual Railfan & Friends Randy

Good Grab Bag video! And great crowd at Ashland Train Day!

Are there more detailments? Or more cameras?
The beautiful🦌
Deer: aww dang it we missed our Train. Oh well let's walk
Thank you for panning over to me in Fort Madison and putting me in the grab bag!
I recording a potash train shunt was startled by several cars derailing as they picked up speed pushing the cars. things happen.
Elkhart, IN should be renamed Deerhart, IN
One of our locos is over in america# GB
These things are derailing more than I can catch a heritage unit
Hmm after a short look on your channel it appears we enjoy the same things like floating sandbox and railfanning. Cool!
Why not hang around the Interstate highway system 18 wheelers mess up more than trains.
Yep. Its called PSR. It needs to go
I don't understand the shortcuts remark at Princeton?
This is another awesome episode of Virtual Railfan Grab Bag
this going to be great to watch thank you.🇺🇲🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲

Just oversights when the deadline is quickly approaching and you're trying to give more than time allows.

It would be like trying to record bugs on a windshield... While the loss of wildlife is unfortunate, it's the cost of doing business.
I got a shirt form the guy at the end at the train show in MA for free

I've watched Virtual Railfan since 2021, and I still don't know what Grab Bag means, haha
Google it:
a container from which a person chooses a wrapped item at random, without knowing the contents
an assortment of miscellaneous items.
@@joepeach997 Thank you! After so long I could have just Googled it, ahhhh!!!
In this case, it’s random videos from the cameras posted around the country
