- Tired of not knowing how to weld? Think it's going to cost you more than you think it should? Well this is a super easy way of making them yourself and now in Blender!
I've had quite a lot of questions relating to this very thing especially about how to do it in Blender; how do i make welds on my artwork? Here we are! This is exactly how i do them if i were to do them in Blender.
If you fancy catching me stream, why not join me on twitch where i livestream 3d artwork for Rust...live!

Thanks to Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio for the BG music.
I’ve been using a different method I found but this looks much more reliable and clean! Definitely giving this a try later!
everyday some small yt channel proofs to me that there is a blender tutorial for everything. THX
At first, it sounds like too many steps, but after watching it a second time, it all makes sense.
first tutorial I've seen that captures the "dime stack" look of a MIG weld. Thanks a ton!
I got surprised how good it turned out
this was a son of a gun to complete, did not find a circle texture, so probably external asset.
i went thru all the brushes and most of them can not accumulate properly.
i did find that the clay brush did the job, with the settings shown in the video bit set the strength to 1, spacing to 12, and in advanced settings checkbox accumulate to on.
Your work is amazing! I’m pushing myself everyday to be as good as you. Thanks for the tutorial and for the streams.
It would be totally awesome if you could show us how to make duct tape in blender since marvelous designer is soooo expensive.
Keep up the good work pilgrim.
I'll have a good think about this and try and produce something. Thank you for such wonderful encouragements!
Just know that for me you are the person I look up to in 3d and good tutorial!
Thank you so much, very simple and efficient method !!!
Amazing tutorial. Love your intro too.
Thanks!
How can I get a circular texture like that? i'm modifying a game file to add weld marks to a rollcage and I can't seem to get the default blender package to add the dots.
Wuut! simple yet very effective! Thanks!👍
Thanks mate legend
Thanks for not explaining the texture part.
how do i add a custom texture?
if you haven't been told or found out yet, you basically make a black and white picture, save it as a PNG or something into a file you can easily find. then when you select your brush in sculpt mode, click add texture, then look for the red checkerboard tab on the right side of the screen: that's the texture tab. click that, hit add new, and the rest should be self explanatory
I like the video but at least tell us how to make the texture a circle
is there a more feasible method for doing this with with more complex shapes ? when i add a remesh modifier , i can only get the original shape back once i've added around 500k new faces and this messes with the optimization way too much .
I have the same problem....
I was wanting to do this on a clothes rail model I have. But my remesh is not treating my model well at all
If only rust had a DevKit
now i actually thinking, did you do that videos since it was really a lot of questions about that or bc i've asked under video ? :D
Haha it was both actually! But it was something i had planned before the original zbrush one :D
works
Man... welding irl is easier than this

when i try remesh it just turns into a couple blobs
the same here, any idea how to solve ?
12 second intro for 68 second video
Best 12 seconds of your life
Very informative video but made terrible way. Super fast speech, hard to hear voice over the music, too big screen resolution (UI elements are too small) and too fast jumping between elements. And how to make that texture?
Tried 10 times but doesn't work for me. Keep doing something wrong.
can't hear the narration over the generic synth music
cool
Nah dude this method is not good
does it turn into a heap of blobs?
