Thanks! Invisible also comes by the yard? Who knew?! You taught me to not be afraid of zippers and how to put the sliders on, which was a revelation and changed how I make bags. I've wondered how to put an invisible zipper in a corded pillow, so this was just what I needed. Sewing beginners, note that I've been sewing for 60 years and am still learning, thanks to this kind of teaching.
My pleasure! I realized that this video is really fuzzy..... so tomorrow, I'll make a new one for you! I have been a slipcover maker since 1976 & have put my kids through ivy league schools SEWING!!!!!! When I'm 140 & have to stop because I've finally run out of stash, you will find me "gratefully dead" in front of my sewing machine!
Are you my twin sister? You said exactly what I was thinking - invisible zippers by the yard? - and learning how to put zippers together from thezipperlady and byannie.com were a revelation to me, too! I've also been sewing for 60 years, thanks to my junior high home ec teacher who had exacting standards and taught the basics such as fabric types, how to put pattern pieces on grain, and how to finish seams with french seams and flat felled, long before we had sergers. It's so much fun to still be learning new techniques!
This is the best tutorial I found for attaching the zipper with welting. I have ripped out my zipper 4 times because it wasn't close enough to the welting. The order that you stitched the zipper is very important and made all the difference! Thanks so much!
Loved this video. Loved your machine also. Why did the needle keep breaking? I wish the camera was a bit clearer. Can you show us how you joined the welting or piping?
I need this welting foot - I really need a supplier that could show me the proper feet and their use... lots of supplier knows how to sell but know nothing about the use of the stuff they sell
at 3:45 approximately i'm losing you as to what you are folding over. I get the general idea but i can't see anything being folded over.....i know this is not that hard!!! i am a visual person!

Very helpful! This works much better than either sewing to the box band first, or sewing all the layers at once. Thank you.
Best demo for a pillow zipper ever!
Just made a really neat cushion with the best zip I've ever done thanks to your video. Thanks very much! :-)

What kind of camera did you use which you are able to zoom in or out. Are you operating that yourself or someone else.
I use jumbo 1" welt too. How to do this?
Would this same process work with a non invisible zip?
